Organometallic compounds are finding novel applications and benefitting mankind in many ways. The present work relates to the development of such compounds that shall be locally available, cheap, durable and compatible water repellent for leather. The work methodology is so that first there is selection of method of preparation in which the easiest and most economical method is selected. Suitable methods of applications are then elucidated. Finally, some necessary tests of performance are conducted. There are certain weak areas, which are highlighted.

This paper presents results of a study of complex processes for producing composite powder materials from tungsten carbide and metallic chromium. Technological methods for the formation of functionally gradient coatings with high microhardness up to 426 HV through microplasma spraying technology are disclosed.

At present the use of metal coatings in the automotive industry is a priority so the present research had the objective of conducting studies of metallic chromium on surfaces of rings for buses applying national and international standards. The parameters of the coating process (time, temperature and voltage) are varied to check its incidence in corrosion by checking properties such as adhesion, hardness and layer thickness. It was determined that the optimum parameters for a nickel-chromium process are 60 min, 400 C and 7V, but with low corrosion resistance, so that an alternate coating was developed to add an alkaline copper layer, obtaining three layers, copper- nickel-chromium, thereby increasing corrosion resistance.
