Introduction. The physicochemical properties and the impact on living organisms of nanoparticles and components that make up nanoparticles may differ radically, however, insufficient attention is paid to a comparative study of the toxicity of nanoparticles and constituents of nanoparticles. Material and methods. Biochemical and hematological parameters in the blood of 50 male Wistar rats were determined after a single, seven-fold and thirty-fold intramuscular injection of an aqueous solution of iron-molybdenum nanocluster polyoxometalates (POM) and a mixture of the POM components at a dose of 1.5 mg/kg. A solution of a POM components’ mixture was obtained by the destruction of POM with an increase in pH, followed by neutralization, since POM are unstable in an alkaline medium. Results. The introduction of POM did not cause deviations from the norm in the activity of AST, ALT, total alkaline phosphatase and its bone isoenzyme, α-amylase, protein content, urea and creatinine, which indicates the absence of cytolytic syndrome, including in the liver and myocardium, no damage to the acinar part of pancreas, changes in bone tissue, preservation of the protein-synthetic function of the liver and the filtering ability of the kidneys. The introduction of a solution of POM components (molybdenum, iron) was accompanied by an increase in the activity of AST, alkaline phosphatase, the AST / ALT ratio after 7 injections and an increase in the last two parameters after 30 injections. The impact of POM is characterized by an increase in the content of hemoglobin and erythrocytes in the blood and less pronounced leukopenia, in contrast to the mixture of POM components. Conclusion. A less pronounced deviation from the norm of biochemical parameters and a lower degree of leukopenia make it possible to assess the effect of POM nanoparticles as less toxic than the action of POM components not organized into nanoparticles.

An automobile company in this research faced the consistency problem from the chemical concentration in degreasing bath which was one of the stages in the pretreatment process. The problem came from the proportion of total alkaline (T.Al) lower than the lower control limit (LCL) which was set at 18.2 points during February – May 2020. This resulted in the low values of Cp and Cpk, i.e. 0.83 and 0.51, respectively. To remedy the problem, Six Sigma (DMAIC) was applied to improve the process stability. The cause and effect matrix was used to analyse the potential causes of problems and prioritise the causes to solve. It was found that four (causes) factors were solved by auto titration and feeding controller installation to reduce variance and increase stability. Another one factor, quality of water, was improved by adding a check item to monitor and collect data during the initial implementation stage. The result after improvement showed that Cp and Cpk were increased to 1.82 and 1.52 in August 2020, respectively.

Abstract Introduction. Studies have revealed that the anabolic effect of irisin on bone is mediated by an increase in alkaline phosphatase. However, few studies have investigated the interactive effect of irisin on alkaline phosphatase after exercise training. Therefore, the present study aimed to compare the impact of endurance and resistance training protocols on serum irisin concentration and total alkaline phosphatase activity in sedentary obese women. Material and methods. Forty-five sedentary obese women (age: 48.96 ± 5.2 years, body mass index 32.24 ± 3.76 kg/m2) were randomly assigned to control, endurance, and resistance groups. Endurance (45 to 75 minutes at an intensity corresponding to 50 to 80% of heart rate reserve) and resistance exercise training (3 sets, 10-15 repetitions at an intensity corresponding to 50 to 65% of one-repetition maximum) were conducted for 8 weeks, 3 days per week. Maximal oxygen consumption (VO2max) was estimated using the modified Bruce protocol treadmill test. Fasting blood samples were taken before the first and 48-hr after the last exercise training sessions. The serum concentrations of irisin and total alkaline phosphatase activity were measured using the sandwich ELISA method and photo-metric method, respectively. Results. Both endurance and resistance exercise training protocols caused a significant reduction in BMI and BFP of obese women. In contrast, VO2max significantly increased after both exercise training protocols. However, neither endurance nor resistance training protocols had a significant impact on the serum concentrations of irisin and total alkaline phosphatase activity. No significant inter-group differences were observed between the subjects’ BMI, BFP, VO2max, total alkaline phosphatase, and irisin at the end of protocols. Conclusions. The finding of the current study revealed that neither of the training protocols had a significant impact on bone anabolic parameters. However, performing these types of exercise is suggested for weight management in obese women.

It is proposed to introduce an additional stage of "wet" cleaning of waste gases of caking at RUSAL Achinsk. For experimental industrial research, the work used a multi-vortex scrubber, in which the gas is cleaned in a dispersed water-air layer, formed by the flow of gases from the bottom up through the dispersing lattice. As an absorbent irrigation solution, it is proposed to use pre-heated up to 50 degrees Celsius water (PSH), containing an average of 8.98 g/dm3 and 16.74 g/dm3 of caustic and total alkaline, respectively. The efficiency of gas dust-cleaning was assessed depending on the consumption of PSH (0.2–1.2 l/m3 of gas at feed speeds of 0.2 hp and 0.4 hp), as well as the use of two schemes of its supply (flow and recycling).
