Performance enhancement in athletes: a survey to investigate the current clinical practice of Italian sport physiotherapists v1

Background and rationale Professional sport physiotherapist profile is characterised by eleven specific competences, defined by standards which are described by the Sports Physiotherapy for All (SPA) project [1]. Among these, performance evaluation and enhancement are fundamental in order to let athletes achieve their specific sport gestures best execution with a relevant impact on functional outcome. They alsoinfluencepositively on the decrease of injury risk [2-4]. Based on this cultural background, it is necessary that professionals evaluate their own clinicalpractice in order to match international standards, increase their work quality satisfying the functional requests of the sport environment, matching the perspective changes driven by the scientific community [2]. Study aim This survey aims to: •assess how Italian sport physiotherapists perform education and enhancement of the athlete performance in their clinical practice. •evaluate confidence of Italian professionals in performing such competence while managing the athlete performance. The average competencies of the analysed sample will be quantified and compared with what is set by the current scientific evidences regarding performance enhancement in athletes. Study design This observational cross-sectional study will be conducted in Italy through a digital questionnaire administration to a sample of 1093 sport physiotherapists [5]. Considering around 65000 Italian physiotherapists as a reference population, a confidence interval of 95% and a relative standard error of 3%, the necessary sample in order to have relevant results for the whole selected population is 1093 professionals [6-7]. This sample composed of Italian professionals will be recruited through social channels and/or newsletters sent by e-mail. The questionnaire will be filled in only after privacy law requirements acceptance and meeting inclusion criteria by the recruited sample. Results from this survey will be reported according to criteria set by STROBE guidelines and will be quantified and interpreted following the above-mentioned study aim. This study will be performed in accordance with the Checklist for Reporting Results of Internet E-survey criteria (CHERRIES) and with ethical principles contained in the Helsinki Declaration [8-10]. Committee on Bioethics of University of Pisa approved the present study.

Impact of DanceSport on General Fitness from the Perspective of Chinese Athletes

Energy metabolism and motion are the essence of dance. Scientific training of athletes involves theoretical guidance in terms of fitness, talent-based selection, and high-performance practice. However, limited research work is carried out on the physiological strain of DanceSport competitions. Therefore, proper channel needs to be established for aerobic-based exercise on participant’s performance and general fitness. Competition simulation is used to collect personal data from real-time experimentations. Database gathers athlete information based on age, gender, and performance. Furthermore, results are obtained from experiment, record, and simulation in comparison to evaluate athlete performance. Main purpose of this article is to discover the characteristics of DanceSport from the perspectives of energetics in 32 domestic elite. Finally, World DanceSport Federation Judging System 2.1 “WFJS2.1” strategy is utilized for international game challenges.

Summary of: The Effects of Menstrual Cycle Phase on Elite Athlete Performance: A Critical and Systematic Review

COMEN CUP COMPETITION POINTS ANALYSIS OF ARIANA FIGURE IN ARTISTIC SWIMMING

The aim of this study is to examine the athlete performance of Ariana, one of the obligatory figures in artistic swimming COMEN competitions, in terms of year and age. It is important to analyze the competition results of the athletes according to years, age groups, individual development and countries. For the figure performance points of the athletes, the official COMEN Mediterranean Artistic Swimming Cup competition results were checked. Within the scope of the research, the competitions held in 2014 – 2019 were examined. The performances of the same athletes competing in different years and the countries with regular participation are listed for evaluation. Ariana point averages of these countries were calculated according to general and years. One Way ANOVA and Wilcoxon Signed Ranks tests were used for statistical analysis. There was a significant difference between the groups when comparing the Ariana artistic swimming figure by years (p<0.01). As a result of comparing the years with each other, it was found that there was a difference between 2017 and other years (p<0.01). The results of the competition were compared by dividing them into 13, 14 and 15 age groups. There was a significant difference between these age groups (p<0.01). Ariana point averages and total mean and standard deviation values of 9 countries that participated continuously in 2014-2019 were determined. When the Ariana figure points of the same athletes were divided into 13-14, 14-15 and 13-15 age groups, it was understood that there were significant differences between the groups (p<0.01). As the age of the athletes increases, the increase in Ariana figure points shows a significant difference. This situation is also present in the points of the same athletes in different age groups. The points of Bulgaria, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Russia, Spain, Switzerland and Turkey, which participated continuously in the years covering the research, are decisive for the competition ranking and the estimation of the Ariana figure points. The average point according to the year of the competition and the average point of the countries that regularly participate have been made suitable for planning for the development of athletes. With the study we prepared, it was possible to make figure point plans in determining the performance development goals of artistic swimmers. <p> </p><p><strong> Article visualizations:</strong></p><p><img src="/-counters-/edu_01/0820/a.php" alt="Hit counter" /></p>

THE EFFECTS OF COACHING BEHAVIOR ON THE EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE OF ATHLETE’S

This study was arranged to explore the Effects of coaching behavior upon athlete performance. There were 156 Athletes selected for a sample through non-probability convenient sampling technique and used survey research design. A Coaching Behavior Scale for the sport, (CBS-S, Mallet, 2006) was administered to collect data and data was analyzed using SPSS-17. The result of the study indicated that coaching behavior affect athlete performance with all dimensions of the coaching behavior scale is significantly. This study concluded that athlete increase performance physical training and training 46.4%, mental preparation 53.6%, technical skills 54.5% and goal setting 44.6% with positive coaching behaviors. Keep in sight the result of this study, it is consigned those higher authorities may focus or promote supportive climate to coach to enhance the athlete performance. The study provides the significant information in facilitating the decision making about the effective behavior of the Athletes.

Intelligent System of Game-Theory-Based Decision Making in Smart Sports Industry

Internet of Things (IoT) technology backed by Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques has been increasingly utilized for the realization of the Industry 4.0 vision. Conspicuously, this work provides a novel notion of the smart sports industry for provisioning efficient services in the sports arena. Specifically, an IoT-inspired framework has been proposed for real-time analysis of athlete performance. IoT data is utilized to quantify athlete performance in the terms of probability parameters of Probabilistic Measure of Performance (PMP) and Level of Performance Measure (LoPM). Moreover, a two-player game-theory-based mathematical framework has been presented for efficient decision modeling by the monitoring officials. The presented model is validated experimentally by deployment in District Sports Academy (DSA) for 60 days over four players. Based on the comparative analysis with state-of-the-art decision-modeling approaches, the proposed model acquired enhanced performance values in terms of Temporal Delay, Classification Efficiency, Statistical Efficacy, Correlation Analysis, and Reliability.
