Due to the increase in the attraction of human activities and the increase in the rapid population growth into the urban region, which in turn leads to the growth of vehicle ownership, increase the daily trips and use which results in traffic congestion in the major roundabouts of the city. The aim of this project is analyzing the current situation of traffic in Burj Al-Sahwa roundabout using Building Information Modelling (BIM). Where, BIM software can conduct simulations and analysis to enhance the design for, cost-effective, energy-efficient, sustainable and practicable products as well as faster and more effective. In this project, traffic congestion in Burj Al-Sahwa roundabout, has been collected by using traditional through manual spot counting of vehicles, to evaluate roundabout performance. The outcome of this project found that there is increasing in the traffic in the peak hour between 7 Am to 8 Am on Nizwa road. In that case, the suitable solutions to manage the traffic flow are the design of the flyover and design Signals in roundabout under the flyover.

The increasing demand for green sustainable energy source led to a worldwide increase in the installation of large scale photovoltaic (PV) farms. To ensure the PV farms compliance with safety and operational guidelines, earthing systems are essential component of the design. An adequate earthing system for low, medium, and high voltage areas of the PV farm ensures energy under fault condition and system malfunction are absorbed without exceeding the desirable limits. The work in this paper captures the soil resistivity and the earthing system requirements for each voltage level. The paper highlights the boundaries for combined or separate earthing system between low, medium and high voltage. Furthermore, the works focus on the system cost and maintenance without jeopardizing system integrities and safety compliance. Case study is also included.

AbstractBrought by the need for competent approaches to assess the financial cost and environmental impact towards service design-for-cost-and-environment, this paper investigates on the following service representation approaches: Service Blueprinting, Process Chain Network, Business Process Model & Notation, and Customer Journey Mapping. An ontological analysis further compares their similarities and differences. Lastly, a table summarizes the findings, were further insights could be drawn to help service companies be more aware of both their spending and ecological responsibility.
