O que resta da adolescência

Os processos dos adolescentes diante dos dilemas humanos relativos à sexualidade, morte, pertença e transformação social contam a sua própria história, mas dizem também sobre o modo como cada sociedade concebe as modalidades de inscrição do sujeito no laço social, assim como da sua disponibilidade às transformações sociais. Neste artigo vamos demonstrar os impasses nos destinos da adolescência quando o outro social, em vez de interpelar, acompanhar e apostar no adolescente transforma suas fronteiras em opacidades intransponíveis, ao modo de um front de guerra, impondo impedimentos à sua pertença ao laço social. Vamos cotejar falas dos adolescentes da peça de teatro de Frank Wedekind, de 1891, O Despertar da Primavera, com falas de adolescentes das margens das grandes cidades brasileiras. Vamos demonstrar a articulação da sexualidade à cena social e política, assim como situar o estatuto do ato diante dos impasses do adolescente frente ao lugar que lhe é ofertado no discurso social. Pode-se escutar o que resta da adolescência: a construção de uma narrativa ficcional que permita construir e nortear a sua invenção de um lugar para existir.

Adolescence and Femininity at the Play Spring Awakening

This paper aims to raise the theoretical discussion about the vicissitudes in the process of teenage girls becoming women, from the psychoanalytical point, which says the puberty is a landmark on sexual development. Adolescence is approached as a sexuation process resulting from Oedipus. For the boys, the identification with the father is enough, while the girls need extra work. We are going to examine the proper impasses and the outputs to the femininity construction incented by Wendla and Ilse, adolescent characters from the play Spring Wakening by Frank Wedekind, in the face of the real drive.

Der Band sucht, die Bedeutung des konzeptuellen Wandels von Sexualität und Sexualitäten zu ergründen, und untersucht, wie diese Entwicklung in den verschiedenen Medien ästhetisch und kritisch reflektiert wird. Unter Bezugnahme auf feministische und queertheoretische Ansätze wird danach gefragt, wie die neue Fluidität die Vorstellungen von Sex und Geschlecht und von Erotik und Lust beeinflussen und wie sich dies literarisch und kulturell niederschlägt. Behandelt werden u.a. Texte von: Ingeborg Bachmann, Hubert Fichte, Theodor Fontane, Gerhart Hauptmann, Irmgard Keun, Robert Musil, Richard Schemmerer, Noah Voisine, Frank Wedekind und Mario Wirz.

Kerr, Alfred (1867–1948)

Born Alfred Kempner, Alfred Kerr is remembered as one of Germany’s most important theatre and film critics and as a writer with literary ambitions who worked tirelessly to establish criticism as its own genre; in particular, his voluminous writing on playwriting, stagecraft, and performance demonstrates the crucial role of the critic in co-constructing theatre as a social medium. His importance lies in his support for progressive tendencies in literature, in his championing of innovative dramatists whose works were remembered by posterity (for example, Henrik Ibsen, Gerhart Hauptmann, Arthur Schnitzler, and Frank Wedekind). It is the highly polished and witty style of his writing that makes his critiques more memorable than many of the plays he wrote about. Kerr’s influence was strongest in the period from 1895 to the end of World War I, though he continued to write into the Weimar and Nazi periods. His GesammelteSchriften [Collected Works] were published between 1917 and 1920. The first five volumes, Die Welt im Drama [The World in Drama] bring together in book format Kerr’s numerous theatre reviews of the previous twenty-five years. Kerr’s books were burned by the Nazis. He was forced to spend most of the 1930s and 1940s abroad, taking British citizenship and returning to Germany only shortly before his death. In addition to criticism, Kerr also wrote poetry, memoirs, and travel narratives.

Reinhardt, Max (1873–1943)

Born Max Goldmann to Jewish parents in Baden, Austria and nicknamed "the Magician" by the press, Max Reinhardt was pivotal in establishing theater directing as an art form in the early twentieth century. Although he apprenticed as an actor in naturalist productions directed by Otto Brahm at the Deutsches Theater in Berlin from 1893 to 1903, he built his reputation by championing expressionism and other antirealist theatrical movements in productions that toured throughout Europe and the United States. Reinhardt’s eclectic roster, from spectacular stagings of Shakespeare to intimate productions of plays by Frank Wedekind and August Strindberg, brought innovative production methods and experimental drama to a mass audience, while training major figures in modern theater and film, including Bertolt Brecht, Erwin Piscator, and Ernst Lubitsch.

Λολίτα, Λόλα, Λουλού: Κυρίες με τέτοιου είδους υποκοριστικά ονόματα τις συναντάει κανείς συνήθως ως πλανεύτρες ακαταμάχητης ομορφιάς στη Λογοτεχνία, την Τέχνη και τον Κινηματογράφο. Και όμως υφίσταται το ερώτημα εάν υπάρχει πραγματικά μια κάποια τέχνη της αποπλάνησης ή εάν η ομορφιά – όπως λέει ο λαός – εξαρτάται αποκλειστικά από τη ματιά του παρατηρητή. Μια απάντηση σε αυτό το ερώτημα υπόσχεται να δώσει η ανάλυση των ακόλουθων έργων του Ρομαντισμό, της περιόδου του Fin de Siècle και της Λογοτεχνίας και του Κινηματογράφου του 20ού αιώνα, με θέμα την αποπλάνηση. Τα έργα έχουν ως κεντρική ηρωίδα μία γυναίκα πλανεύτρα και έναν – συνήθως άντρα – πλανεμένο ήρωα. Κοινό χαρακτηριστικό σχεδόν όλων των ηρωίδων είναι ότι κατέχουν έκαστες τεχνικές αποπλάνησης: μπορούν να τραγουδάνε, να χορεύουν και να ποζάρουν άριστα. Οι ρομαντικές διηγήσεις είναι οι εξής: "Der Runenberg" (1804) του Ludwig Tieck, "Das Marmorbild" (1818) του Joseph von Eichendorff και δύο διηγήσεις από το ρεπερτόριο του E.T.A. Hoffmann: "Das öde Haus" (1817) και "Der goldne Topf" (1813/1814). Παραδείγματα από την περίοδο του Fin de Siècle είναι τα δράματα "Salome" (1893) του Oscar Wilde και "Lulu" (1913) του Frank Wedekind. Ως σύγχρονο παράδειγμα επιλέχθηκε το μυθιστόρημα σκάνδαλο και κλασικό έργο της παγκόσμιας λογοτεχνίας "Lolita" (1955) του Vladimir Nabokov. Ταινίες καλτ που δεν πρέπει να λείπουν από τη φιλμογραφία μίας εργασία περί γυναικείας αποπλάνησης είναι: "Der Blaue Engel" (1930) του Joseph von Sternberg, "Orpheus" (1939) του Jean Cocteaus και "Carmen" (1983) του Carlos Saura. Κεντρική ιδέα της διατριβής είναι ότι η θηλυκότητα καθ’ εαυτή – και ακόμα περισσότερο η αποπλανητική – δεν υφίσταται, αλλά αποτελεί ένα κατασκεύασμα, μία φαντασίωση, μία προβολή ή είναι ακόμα και αποτέλεσμα σκηνοθεσίας. Αρχική ιδέα είναι ότι οι θηλυκές μορφές λειτουργούν συνήθως ως καθρέφτισμα του ανδρικού πόθου αποτελώντας μονάχα προβολές επιθυμίας και φόβου. Στην αιτιολόγηση του ερευνητικού στόχου η φιγούρα του νάρκισσου αποκτάει ένα διπλό ρόλο: από τη μία το μοτίβο αντικατοπτρίζει την αυτο-ποθούμενη ματιά και τη σχετιζόμενη κατασκευή της θηλυκότητας, από την άλλη ο νάρκισσος λειτουργεί ως σύμβολο μιας τέχνης που παρατηρεί τον εαυτό της και έτσι πολλαπλασιάζεται.
