The study was conducted to determine the yield of peanut as affected by different row and hill spacings. The experiment was done under the soil and climatic requirements of Zamboanga Sibugay, Philippines with an average temperature of 27.3 0C. The experiment was laid using Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with sixteen combined treatments. An area of 80 square meters was divided into 16 plots, each plots measured 1m by 5m excluding canals. There were two factors used in the study, the different rows and hill spacings. The row spacing used were R1 (12 inches), R2 (16 inches), R3 (20 inches), R4 (24 inches) and the hill spacing used were H1 (6 inches), H2 (7 inches), H3 (8 inches), H4 (9 inches). Complete fertilizer was drilled at the base of the plant 30 days after planting at the rate of 1.83 grams per hill. Tobacco spray was applied twice, first at 15 DAP and second at 50 DAP and kakawate spray was applied 43 days from planting to prevent and repel insect pest. Result revealed that the average number of pods per plant per plot, average weight of pods in gram per plant per plot, total number of pods per plot, and total weight of pods in kilogram per plot had no significant difference as affected by different row and hill spacings. However, the result on the average number of seeds per plant per plot showed that there is a significant difference among treatments. Statistical analysis revealed that the computed “f1” is greater than the tabulated “f1” at 5% level of significance.

Field experiments were conducted in the Dominican Republic to determine the effect of combinations of N with folcysteine and gibberellic acid 3 on cilantro (Coriandrum sativum) yield. Nitrogen levels (0, 36, 55, 73, 91 kg·ha–1) in soil application at sowing were combined with foliar spray of the biostimulant folcysteine or gibberellic acid (0, 100, 200, 300, and 400 ppm) 15 days after emergence. Treatments were applied in a factorial arrangement on a randomized complete block design with three replications. Fresh weight of the aerial part of the plants was determined 40 days after emergence. No significant difference was found due to folcysteine treatment. Nitrogen had a significant effect, with optimal yield at 55 kg·ha–1. Significant interaction was detected for the combinations of gibberellic acid and N, with yield increasing as the rate of the two factors increased.

This study was conducted with an area of 540 square meters excluding canals and was divided into twenty plots. Each plot was measured 3m x 9m. The experimental area was laid out following Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD). The study aimed to determine the effect of different row spacings and schedule of urea application in medium level on the yield of sweet corn. Results of the analysis showed that the average length and average circumference of corn ears in centimeter per plot per treatment both showed no significant difference as affected by different row spacings and schedule of application of urea. Results of the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) on the average weight and total weight of corn ears in kg per plot per treatment showed that there was significant difference on the yield of sweet corn using row spacings. However, no significant difference on the schedule of application of urea. Thus, R2 is recommended in terms of longest husk, biggest circumference of husk, and heavier husk of corn ears. On the other hand, R1 is recommended to obtain more husk of corn ears and R5 is recommended to obtain heavier husk of corn ears.

The objective of the experiment was to evaluate effects of organic fertilizer levels and spray rates of organic solution on tomato yield. A 4 x 3 factorial field experiment arranged in a randomized complete block design was conducted in Spring - Summer season 2018 at the experimental site of Faculty of Agronomy (Vietnam National University of Agriculture). The two factors included (1) organic fertilizer rates with four levels (0, 11, 13.5, & 16 tons/ha) and (2) sprayed concentration of HB101 organic solution with three levels (0, 0.15, & 0.3 mL/L). The amount of water used for 1 ha was 10.000 L. The experimental results showed that increased amounts of organic fertilizer and HB101 solution doses positively increased the number of flowers per inflorescence, number of inflorescences per plant, number of fruits per plant, average weight of fruit, and tomato yield. Meanwhile, combinations of 16 tons/ha of organic fertilizer and HB101 solution at the concentrations of 0.3 mL/L and 0.15 mL/L gave the highest tomato yield with 44.0 tons/ha and 42.6 tons/ha, respectively. The highest profit margin obtained with the treatment of nonapplication of organic sources was 3.8. However, the highest economic profit was obtained with the treatment of 16 tons/ha of organic fertilizer combined with 0.15 mL/L HB101.

<p style="text-align: justify;">The aim of this research is to study the effects of synthetic cytokinin (6-benzylaminopurine/BAP) treatments on two groups of pineapple (Ananas comosusL.Merr.) plantlets differentiated by plantlet ages. The research used the Factorial Experiment on Randomized Complete Block Design with two factors, which are BAP concentrations (0 ppm, 25 ppm, 50 ppm, and 75 ppm) and plantlet division by age grouping (52 days and 69 days), with three replications. It was then followed by Tukey’s Honestly Significant Difference Test at error level of 5%. The results show that BAP treatments with the concentration used in this research significantly inhibits the growth of pineapple plantlets observed on four variables (number of leaves, leave length, plantlet height, and plantlet diameter), while age grouping treatments didn’t show any significant effects, except on the plantlet height at 8 and 14 weeks after treatment. There are also treatment-related interactions which significantly affects the number of leaves and plantlet height. It was then suggested that lower concentrations of cytokinin are required if similar research is to be conducted in the future.</p><p>Keywords : pineapple, post-acclimatization, propagation, 6-benzylaminopurine</p>

Abstract This study examined the effect of 1-monoglycerides and 1,2-diglycerides of butyric-, caproic- and caprylic acid (SILOHealth™ 104L [monoglycerides]), 2.5*105 CFU/g, Clostridium butyricum probiotic (probiotic) and avilamycin on grow-fin performance of day 5 Salmonella (S. enterica) challenged pigs fed corn/soy diets formulated to meet or exceed current NRC (2012) recommendations. A total of 96, Choice Genetics CG32, male pigs were used in a randomized complete block design with pen as the experimental unit, treatment as the fixed effect, and block as the random effect (3 pig/pen x 4 treatments x 8 replications). Pigs were orally dosed with 5x105 CFU/g, Salmonella enterica at day 5 (Se) of trial start. The treatment groups were: NC= Se; T1=NC + 80 ppm avilamycin. T2=NC+ 3 kg/MT monoglycerides, T3=NC+ 5 kg/MT monoglycerides, T4= 0.5 kg/MT probiotic and T5= 1.0 kg/MT probiotic. P < 0.05 was used to determine the level of significance. Least significant difference was used to compare means of treatment groups. T1, T2, T3, T4 and T5 increased ADG versus NC at d28 (663, 868, 738, 834, 718 and 798 g, P < 0.05) and d77 (910, 1093, 1032, 1073, 966 and 1004 g, P < 0.05), decreased FCR at d77 (2.84, 2.73, 2.81, 2.75, 2.81 and 2.74, P < 0.05), and decreased fecal Salmonella, log 10 of CFU/g, at d77 (3.64, 2.13, 2.89, 2.66, 2.99 and 2.69, P < 0.05). Five kg of monoglycerides and 1.0 kg of probiotic performance, mortality and fecal Salmonella, log 10, were not significantly different than avilamycin at P < 0.05. In conclusion, the use of 1-monoglycerides and 1,2-diglycerides of butyric-, caproic- and caprylic acid and clostridium butyricum probiotic improved ADG, reduced FCR and reduced fecal Salmonella, log 10, at day 70 and were not significant different (P < 0.05) than avilamycin.

This study was conducted to investigate the effect of bacterial bio-fertilization A. chroococcum and P. putide and four levels of compost (0, 1, 2, 3) tons.h-1 on the leaves content of N.P.K elements. The experiment was carried out in one of the greenhouses of the College of Agriculture - University of Al-Qadisiyah during fall season 2018-2019. It designed in accordance with the Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replicates in sandy loam soil. The means of treatments were compared with the least significant difference (LSD) at (5)% probability level. The results present that the treatments of A. chroococcum, P. putide and compost at (3) tons.kg-1 significantly increases the leaves content of K.P.K compared to all other treatments in the flowering stage (4.970, 0.5000, and 4.930) mg.kg-1, respectively. This treatment was followed by the effect of the treatment of A. chroococcum and compost at (3) tons.kg-1, which increases the values of all traits except the leaf content of (P). Bio-fertilizer with P. putide + A. chroococcum significantly increases the leaves' content of P.

This experimental study was conducted to determine the effect of unilateral nephrectomy on kidney function through hematological and urological values after surgery using feral domestic cats.  Four (4) apparently healthy stray male cats were caught and used as experimental animals in this study. The animals were grouped into two (2) with two cats in each group. Grouping of the animals was based according to age, the 1st group – ages one year and above (>1 year) and the 2nd group – ages one year and below (<1 year).  A split plot randomized complete block design was used in the experiment. The result shows that rectal temperature and packed cell volume have been affected on both age group of cats and other urological values like the presence of urobilinogen, protein, leukocytes, erythrocytes and crystals were elevated twenty four hours after surgery. A significant increase on the level of creatinine and blood urea nitrogen has been noted from the 3rd and 15th post – operative day. However, no significant difference was noted between experimental animals and the two age groups, all of which have similar result. The findings of the study revealed that the remaining kidney could not completely compensate the function of the other kidney up to the 15th post – operative day, it may take longer than fifteen days. Hence, proper supportive treatment, post-operative care & management of animals subjected to unilateral nephrectomy is a must and should continue beyond fifteen days.

We investigated the interaction between genotype by trait, and an experiment was conducted at the University of Debrecen. Two maize cultivars, FAO340 and FAO410, were studied in a randomized complete block design with four replications. This experiment was applied to the six fertilization treatments. Fertilizer levels were NPK0 (control) (N:0, P2O5:0, K2O:0), NPK1 (N:30, P2O5:23, K2O:27), NPK2 (N:60, P2O5:46, K2O:54), NPK3 (N:90, P2O5:69, K2O:81), NPK4 (N:120, P2O5:92, K2O:108), and NPK5 (N:150, P2O5:115, K2O:135). The first principal component showed 54.24%, and the second principal component showed 20.75%, which explained the total squares interaction using the AMMI model in the case of the FAO410 hybrid. As regards the FAO340 hybrid, the first principal component showed 58.18%, and the second principal component showed 18.04%, explaining the total squares interaction using the AMMI model in the FAO410 hybrid. In the GGE biplot on FAO410, the first and the second principal components covered 91.20% of the total data in this analysis. Accordingly, the desirable treatment was NPK5, followed by NPK4, NPK2, NPK3, NPK1, and NPK0. NPK4 and NPK5 had the most desirable treatments for the number of seeds per row, chlorophyll, weight of 1000 seeds, and stem diameter in the case of the FAO410 hybrid.

A field study was conducted at Tennessee State University's research station to evaluate the effect of hardwood bark mulch on the winter survival of garden mums. A randomized complete block design was used. Cultivars used were adorn, encore, grandchild, jackpot, legend, minnautumn, minnwhite and triump. At the end of the flowering season the tops were removed leaving a four inch stubble in the mulch. The number of mum plants that resumed growth the following spring were counted for each cultivar. There was a difference in the winter survival of the different cultivars as well as a significant difference in the mulch treated and the control. Grandchild and jackpot were most cold hardy followed by encore, minnwhite, minnautumn, triump, legend, and adorn. Grandchild and jackpot with four inches of hardwood bark mulch had an 88 percent survival while the control had a 44 percent survival. Adorn. had a 51 percent survival with four inches of mulch and a 20 percent survival in the control. This data shows that hardwood bark mulch holds a great potential for providing excellent winter protection for garden mums.

Rice is a rice-producing food crop which now plays an important role in economic life in Indonesia. Namely rice as a staple food is very difficult to replace by other staples. Among them are corn, tubers, sago and other carbohydrate sources. So that the existence of rice is now a top priority for the community in meeting the needs of carbohydrate intake that can be filling and is a source of primary carbohydrates that are easily replaced into an energy source. Rice as a staple food is consumed by approximately 90% of the total population in Indonesia for daily essential food (Saragih,2001). How to plant with the jajar legowo system has the advantage that the plants are on the edge so that optimal sunshine can cause plant productivity to be high, facilitate weed control and pests / diseases, use of fertilizer more effectively and the availability of empty space for regulating water channel circulation on land (Sirrapa, 2011). This research was conducted using Factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) method, which consisted of two factors and each factor consisting of 3 levels repeated 3 times, namely: J1: Conventional,J2: Jajar Legowo 2: 1,J3: Jajar Legowo 4: 1. Factor II: Varieties with 3 levels, V1: Situ Bagendit, V2: Ciherang,V3: IR-64. Of the two factors 9 combinations of treatments were obtained and repeated 3 times. Data obtained from observations were calculated by analysis of variance with the Fisher test (-F test at the level of 5% and 1%), if there were significant differences, it would be followed by the Smallest Significant Difference test (LSD 5%). The treatment of the legowo 4: 1 row system and the ciherang variety (V2J3) produces a better value than other treatments.
