Formal education is experiencing a series of reforms that favor the integration of the contents of different areas in the teaching and learning of the different educational stages. The present study examined the use of an interdisciplinary music and mathematics experience in Secondary Education in Galicia (Spain) in the 2016/17 academic year. A descriptive–exploratory design was used, through a Likert questionnaire applied to 197 students with a diagnostic test and a reference test, and a study of multiple cases was carried out in which information was collected through classroom observations. The results show improvements in the understanding of mathematical and musical concepts, and attitudes and procedures so we can argue that the use of interdisciplinary activities have favored the development of teaching–learning opportunities in mathematical and musical training.

A new view of teaching is emerging from the work of the constructivists and mathematics education reform leaders. In particular, we examine here four aspects of teaching that must change: task selection, guidance of classroom discourse, setting the learning environment, and the analysis of teaching and learning. Several national curriculum projects are working to effect these changes and examples of their work are provided. This work has motivated individual teachers to similarly design investigations that engage students in the study of significant mathematics, and two examples are included. Assessment must also change and students must learn to become less dependent on “authority” for the correctness of answers. Finally, our present understanding of constructivism and its implications for teaching/learning must not be static; though that view now may be at the center, we must listen to those who are on the edges and expect to be changed again and again in the years ahead.

The objective this research are to know the application of teaching descriptive text reading through Index Card Match (ICM) and the advantages and disadvantages of teaching descriptive text reading through Index Card Match (ICM) for the seventh grade students SMPN 2 Barat in the academic year 2014/2015.This research is conducted in SMP N 2 Barat by qualitative method. The sample is class VII A which consists of 22 students. The strategies of accumulating data are observation, interview, and documentation. The data analysis is carried out by the use of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The result of this research indicates that the activities are divided into three activities. There are pre-activities, whilst-activities and post-activities. Pre-activities are greeting, asking condition, giving motivation and mentioning the materials. Whilst-activities are explaining materials, explaining the instruction of ICM, and giving exercise of ICM. Then, post-activities are asking the difficulties, summarizing materials and closing. From the result of the data observation cheek list, the researcher makes the class interesting and the students always pay attention in teaching reading. The advantages using ICM are that: 1)Index Card Match (ICM) the students are able to read descriptive text faster in limited time, 2) Index card match (ICM) makes teaching learning process exciting, 3)Index card match makes the subject matter presented be more attractive for students, 4)Index Card Match can make students have self confidence, enjoy, have good enthusiasm in the teaching and learning. But disadvantages using ICM thatare the situation becomes crowded classroom, because students interact with classmates and Teachersshouldspend some more time. Finally, the researcher suggests to the teacher to apply ICM method in teaching learning process as an alternative method. For further researcher they can develop this method to get a better result in teaching and learning process.

The main purpose of the research was to figure out which was the level of comprehension of the didactic concepts that the students of the Secondary Education Master of the University of Alicante of the academic year 2011/12 had. With this purpose, we have collected the information provided by the answers of 227 students to an ad-hoc-elaborated semi-structured questionnaire whose data have been treated with a quantitative methodology using the SPSS.19 device. The statistic techniques were descriptive, differential and correlational. In this analysis, we take into account the scores obtained by students in variables related to their learning process and their attitudes towards it. The most interesting results prove that the students don’t master the basic didactic concepts in a satisfactory way, there are differences between the levels of comprehension and other variables related to the learning of the concepts and with attitudinal variables of this learning. The research based on these results indicates the need to focus the teaching and learning processes of the Master from a different point of view and combining the strategies which enhance the understanding of these concepts by the students. Key words: concept comprehension, didactic training, pre-service teacher education, Secondary Education Master.

Summary Integration into the European Union, increasing communication and cooperation between countries have brought an extensive interest in foreign languages and the need for foreign language teaching and learning has been recognized by the developers of Lithuanian education policy as an inseparable component of personal development. Teaching and learning of Romanic languages in Lithuania have been popular, exceptional, though varied. French language teaching has old traditions in both formal and non-formal education; while teaching of other Romanic languages (Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, etc.) has not been legally regulated yet – teaching traditions have not been formed, there are no specific teaching syllabi and programs, a lack of methodology and experts in didactics. However, Spanish language learning in Lithuanian secondary education schools and gymnasiums is becoming more and more popular in the recent years. In Lithuanian secondary education Spanish is taught as the second and third foreign language or as an extra-curriculum activity in non-formal education. The analysis of scientific literature revealed a lack of scientific studies and publications not only about the teaching of Spanish but also comparative studies between Lithuanian and Spanish languages. Research into Spanish language teaching and learning indicates not only the increasing number of learners, but also the increasing awareness with regard to the importance and usefulness of Spanish language competence acquisition for international encounters. However, Spanish language teachers face challenges such as insufficient number of teaching hours in general education institutions, lack of qualified Spanish language teachers, insufficient provision with teaching and learning aids and other support material, no state examinations are organized which could help to determine the learners’ Spanish language competences as well as motivate learners to learn this Romanic language.

One of the main objectives in education is to increase the motivation of the students to achieve meaningful learning. The use of technologies in classrooms which students are familiarized with such as the smartphone or the tablet, is a way to achieve this goal. On the other hand, it has been proven that the inclusion of scenarios supported by games and competition enhance the active participation of students. Therefore, in this work we present the results of a study based on of the application Kahoot with students of secondary education, in the subjects of mathematics, biology & geology and physics & chemistry, during the academic year 2017/2018. This tool allows students to answer to on-line questionnaires created by the teacher, through mobile devices, and check their results in a few seconds as well as those of their classmates. The results obtained on the assessment of the tool by students, in terms of the benefits in the learning process, have been very positive and help us to examine the potential of the use of on-line questionnaires in the classrooms.
