In the latest research relating to mineral nutrition of poultry, the interest in several nutrients is prevailing for which in ordinary diets additional sources are necessary. In mineral nutrition of layers constantly the calcium (Ca) requirements are reviewed as one of the most important factors influencing the quality of eggs and bones, in regard to adequate level, source and particle size of added Ca, as well as mutual balance with other nutrients, primarily vitamin D, phosphorus (P) and certain micro-elements. Also, efforts are directed towards possibility and justification for use of new source of vitamin D, existing recommendations related to P are reviewed as well as increase of possibility for adoption of phytine bound phosphorus in diets using enzyme phytase, as well as investigation of organic forms of certain micro-element sources. Certain researches which combine the latest studies of the mineral nutrition of poultry are especially interesting also for practical application. Contrary to layers, focus of research of mineral nutrition of broilers is on phosphorus and application of enzyme phytase. In general, researches of the mineral nutrition of modern poultry genotypes are always actual, considering that their objective is to support genetic progress with adequate nutrition, but also to solve increasing problems relating to product quality, metabolic disorders and ecology.

Calcium metabolism (Ca) in layers depends on many factors which can be divided into factors influencing the intake, absorption, retention and/or excretion of Ca. Varying of any of above mentioned factors presented and reviewed in this study, exhibit their impact on quality of bones in layers and egg shell quality. For the purpose of maintaining of the egg quality and quality of layer hens? bones, the influence of mentioned factors on production should be taken into consideration in the practice, and on that basis not only the proper diet Ca level determined, but also adequate source and size of Ca particles, as well as mutual balance with other nutrients in the diet, primarily phosphorus, vitamin D and some micro elements. Recent studies have the direction of finding the more complex approach to solving of the issues of egg shell quality, also bone quality and ensuring adequate nutrition for modern layer hybrids.

Renal failure patients will experience a variety of metabolic disorders included in the production process of various vitamins and minerals. Lack of vitamin and mineral intake will aggravate vitamin and mineral deficiencies so that patients can experience various musculoskeletal disorders. This condition can cause deterioration in the patient's condition so that the quality of life of the patient can decrease. This study aims to identify the fulfillment of vitamin and mineral needs in patients with chronic kidney diseases. This research used descriptive quantitative method with purposive sampling technique. The Sample in this study was 80 patients with criteria, experience full awareness (composmentis) and literacy. Data was taken using a food record, then analyzed with Nutrisurvey software. Data were analyzed using frequency distribution. The results showed that sodium intake (55%), potassium (87.5%), calcium (53.75%), and phosphorus (46.25%) in most respondents in the normal category. Vitamin D intake in most respondents (70%) is in the less category. Most respondents get enough vitamin and mineral intake except vitamin D.Health workers are expected to provide ongoing education on the importance of maintaining intake of vitamins and minerals especially vitamin D in patients with chronic kidney diseases. In addition, health workers are expected to collaborate well in meeting the vitamin and mineral needs of patients with kidney diseases.

Three factors were measured in the flotation process of copper ore: the copper grade in a concentrate (β), the copper grade in tailings (ϑ), and the recovery of copper in a concentrate (ε). The experiment was conducted by means of a Jameson cell. The factors influencing the quality of the process were the particle size (d), the flotation time (t), the type of collector (k), and the dosage of the collector (s). The considered vector function is then (β(d, t, k, s), ϑ(d, t, k, s), ε(d, t, k, s)). In this work, the optimization was based on determining the values of the adjustable factors (d, t, k, s). The goal was to obtain the possibly highest values of the functions β and ε (maximum) with the possibly lowest values of the function ϑ (minimum). To this end, taxonomic methods were applied. Thanks to the applied method, the optimum—with the adopted assumptions—was found. The presented methodology can be successfully applied in the search for the optima in a variety of technological processes.

Laboratory analysis has an impact on the different stages of health: prevention, diagnosis, prognosis and therapeutic. Blood samples were collected from quilombolas representatives of the two communities. The samples were stored with anticoagulants (EDTA and fluoride) and without anticoagulant. Were performers the laboratory tests (blood count, lipidogram, urea, creatinine, glycemia and vitamin D). The results showed that 22% of the quilombolas presented values of glycemia among 100 and 126 mg \ dL. Results of the lipidogram test showed 24.4% presented triglyceride variation above 150 mg / dL; 57.7% presented cholesterol above 190 mg / dL; 35.5% had HDL levels below 40 mg / dL and 66.6% had LDL levels above 110 mg / dL. Regarding the hemogram, 15.5% of the hematocrit tests and 24.4% of the hemoglobin tests were found, with values lower than the reference values. Vitamin D presented 40% of patients with values below 30 ng / mL. Glomerular filtration rate calculations showed that 66.66% presented among mild to severe changes in renal filtration rate. The data obtained, show that was possible to highlight that among the quilombolas, there are metabolic disorders of carbohydrates, lipids and vitamin D, which correlate with changes in BMI, justifying cases of overweight.

Milk of lime is used in the sugar industry for pH correction and as auxiliary of flocculation in bleaching of the sugar solution. Despite its intense use in sugar cane industry, the milk of lime is rudimentarily produced. The milk of lime badly produced adds great quantities of incrustation in process pipelines and equipments and increases its specific consumption in the process. To mitigate these undesirable effects it is necessary to prepare a milk of lime with appropriated chemical, physical and morphological characteristics. In this paper, several different suspensions of milk of lime were tested in bleaching of the sugar solution. These suspensions were characterized chemical, physical and morphologically and the results were correlated with the performance of the bleaching of the sugar solution. Experimental results showed chemical composition, reactivity, particle size, surface area and slaking process of quicklime affect greatly the quality of the milk of lime.
