Three factors were measured in the flotation process of copper ore: the copper grade in a concentrate (β), the copper grade in tailings (ϑ), and the recovery of copper in a concentrate (ε). The experiment was conducted by means of a Jameson cell. The factors influencing the quality of the process were the particle size (d), the flotation time (t), the type of collector (k), and the dosage of the collector (s). The considered vector function is then (β(d, t, k, s), ϑ(d, t, k, s), ε(d, t, k, s)). In this work, the optimization was based on determining the values of the adjustable factors (d, t, k, s). The goal was to obtain the possibly highest values of the functions β and ε (maximum) with the possibly lowest values of the function ϑ (minimum). To this end, taxonomic methods were applied. Thanks to the applied method, the optimum—with the adopted assumptions—was found. The presented methodology can be successfully applied in the search for the optima in a variety of technological processes.

In the latest research relating to mineral nutrition of poultry, the interest in several nutrients is prevailing for which in ordinary diets additional sources are necessary. In mineral nutrition of layers constantly the calcium (Ca) requirements are reviewed as one of the most important factors influencing the quality of eggs and bones, in regard to adequate level, source and particle size of added Ca, as well as mutual balance with other nutrients, primarily vitamin D, phosphorus (P) and certain micro-elements. Also, efforts are directed towards possibility and justification for use of new source of vitamin D, existing recommendations related to P are reviewed as well as increase of possibility for adoption of phytine bound phosphorus in diets using enzyme phytase, as well as investigation of organic forms of certain micro-element sources. Certain researches which combine the latest studies of the mineral nutrition of poultry are especially interesting also for practical application. Contrary to layers, focus of research of mineral nutrition of broilers is on phosphorus and application of enzyme phytase. In general, researches of the mineral nutrition of modern poultry genotypes are always actual, considering that their objective is to support genetic progress with adequate nutrition, but also to solve increasing problems relating to product quality, metabolic disorders and ecology.

The purpose of this study was to investigate factors influencing sludge thickening in the dissolved air flotation process. Attention focused on the alteration of sludge characteristics as a result of coagulation and aeration. Batch thickening experiments showed that both coagulation and aeration enhanced sludge thickening. The most important parameter influencing sludge thickening appeared to be sludge particle size; larger particle sizes produced higher sludge solids concentrations in the float.

Milk of lime is used in the sugar industry for pH correction and as auxiliary of flocculation in bleaching of the sugar solution. Despite its intense use in sugar cane industry, the milk of lime is rudimentarily produced. The milk of lime badly produced adds great quantities of incrustation in process pipelines and equipments and increases its specific consumption in the process. To mitigate these undesirable effects it is necessary to prepare a milk of lime with appropriated chemical, physical and morphological characteristics. In this paper, several different suspensions of milk of lime were tested in bleaching of the sugar solution. These suspensions were characterized chemical, physical and morphologically and the results were correlated with the performance of the bleaching of the sugar solution. Experimental results showed chemical composition, reactivity, particle size, surface area and slaking process of quicklime affect greatly the quality of the milk of lime.

Unemployment is one of the economic problems in Indonesia. Judging from the level of education that was completed there were unemployment from the level of college graduates. This encourages the level of competition in getting jobs to be more stringent, so that college graduates (bachelor of Statistics in IPB) must have the preparation of various factors to maintain the quality of their graduates. The quality of college graduates can be seen from the length of time waiting to get a job. This study aims to determine the influential factors in getting a job for graduates of the IPB Statistics degree, so that the CHAID method can be used in this study. The results of CHAID's analysis in this study in the form of tree diagrams using α = 10% explained that the factors influencing the waiting period variables were sex, internship, and the ability to master statistical software, where the accuracy value generated by the classification model was 79.3 %.

Background: Factors related to medication adherence in patients with schizophrenia have always been key to the treatment and rehabilitation of these patients. However, the treatment modes in different countries are not the same, and there is no research on the factors influencing medication adherence under different mental health service modes. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to explore medication adherence and its influencing factors in patients with schizophrenia in the Chinese institutional environment. Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study of hospitalized persons living with schizophrenia from November 2018 to January 2019. A systematic sampling method was used to select 217 hospitalized persons living with schizophrenia. The Medication Adherence Rating Scale (MARS), Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS), General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES), Schizophrenia Quality of Life Scale (SQLS), and Scale of Social Skills for Psychiatric Inpatients (SSPI) were used to explore medication compliance and its influencing factors in the Chinese institutional environment. Results: The descriptive analysis and ANOVA showed that there were no significant differences in medication adherence when assessed by demographic characteristics such as sex, marital status, and education level (p > 0.05). A correlation analysis showed that there was no significant correlation between medication adherence and mental symptoms (p > 0.05) but that there was a positive correlation with self-efficacy, quality of life, and activities of daily living (p < 0.01). The linear regression analysis showed that self-efficacy, psychosocial factors, symptoms/side effects, and activities of daily living had significant effects on medication adherence (F = 30.210, p < 0.001). Conclusions: Our findings show that the self-efficacy, quality of life, and social function of patients with schizophrenia are important self-factors influencing medication adherence in the Chinese institutional environment.

Sugar beet pulp (SBP) is a by-product of the sugar industry in which the dietary fiber content ranges from 73% to 80%. Compared to cereal fibers mainly used in biscuit production, sugar beet fibers are gluten free and have a perfect ratio of 2/3 insoluble fiber. In this work, sugar beet pulp was extruded with corn grits (ratios of corn grits to sugar beet pulp in extrudates were 85:15, 70:30, and 55:45), and the obtained sugar beet pulp extrudates (SBPEs) were used for improving the nutritional quality of cookies. The wheat flour in cookies was replaced with SBPEs in the amount of 5, 10, and 15%. The influence of three factors (the percentage of sugar beet pulp in the SBPEs, the size of the SBPE particles, and the percentage of wheat flour substituted with SBPEs) and their interactions on the nutritional quality of cookies, as well as their physical and sensory characteristics are examined using the Box–Behnken experimental design. The addition of extruded sugar beet pulp (SBPEs) significantly increased the amount of total dietary fiber and mineral matter of cookies. On the whole, the addition of SBPEs increased cookie hardness, but the hardness decreased with an increase in extrudate particle size. Sensory characteristics (except for the taste) were the most influenced by extrudate particle size.
