In the conditions of unstable political, economic and social development of society the problem of quality of life, well-being, satisfaction of each citizen of the country acquires special importance. Research has shown that happiness is determined by various factors (age, marital, social and financial status, physiological status, social relations, personal characteristics), its level changes throughout life and can be corrected by certain psychological methods of influence. The purpose of our study was to study the state of development of the problem of happiness and study the content of the ideas of young people about happiness, their characteristics depending on gender and professional orientation. In order to study the peculiarities of the young generation's ideas about happiness, we studied 250 third-year students aged 20 to 22 years of various specialties. The researched questionnaire was asked to answer the questions, the analysis of which helped to make generalized conclusions about their ideas about happiness. The most of students rate their level of happiness as high or medium. But their level of happiness is much higher than their level of success, which can lead to a contradiction between the desire for success and happiness. This state of affairs requires correction of the content of ideas about happiness in adolescence by providing educational information about awareness of success as a process of self-realization and a component of happiness, the desire for integrated satisfaction of both material and spiritual needs for full personal development.

The article presents the research on personal qualities and characteristics of rescuers manifesting signs of professional estrangement. In extreme and extraordinary conditions, in particular, during fires and natural disasters, the requirements for certain personal characteristics of rescuers are significantly increased. That is, professional activity in special conditions significantly affects such professionals: on the one hand, personal development is promoted, and on the other hand, personal qualities can be deformed, therefore, it is necessary to determine specialists whose psychological characteristics do not corresponds the requirements of their work, or to re-allocate them for workplaces with taking into account their individual psychological peculiarities. The obtained results suggest that personal qualities of rescuers identifying themselves with their profession and rescuers with signs of professional estrangement are significantly different. Professionals with a high level of professional identification are characterized as decent and courteous in relations at work and out-of-work. They usually respond adequately to criticism or remarks, and behave on the base of their own emotions and ambitions at conflict situations. Specialists manifesting professional estrangement are often characterized as depressed individuals, dissatisfied with their position or the state of affairs at their work; so they often show ineffectiveness, indecision, and inconsistency in their actions during assignment implementations. Such specialists are characterized by their colleagues as conflict, irresponsible, stubborn and undisciplined people. They can respond inadequately on criticisms or comments. In general, the professional work for them is too difficult and leads to excessive mental stress, rapid fatigue, a feeling of impotence and exhaustion.

This article is devoted to analysis of personal characteristics of preschoolers in relation to the factors of gender, family structure (complete or one-parent, the presence of sibling) and family upbringing (parenting styles, parent-child emotional interaction). The study involved 155 boys, 157 girls and 312 mothers from Saint-Petersburg, Novosibirsk and Arkhangelsk. The age of children — from 4 to 7 years. We used the test and projective techniques. The study revealed that children from single parent families had higher indicators of anxiety, insecurity, depressiveness, self-distrust, hostility, feeling of inferiority, conflicts and difficulties in communication. In families with pronounced overprotection and characteristics of an authoritarian style children had lower self- esteem and higher indicators of anxiety and hostility. Children's aggressiveness was more pronounced in the case of permissive style and instability of parenting style. It was shown that emotional well-being in the parent-child relationships can be regarded as a resource for personal development of the child: understanding the causes of child s state, empathy. However we revealed that one third part of mothers had difficulties in emotional interaction with children. The research was supported by the Russian Foundation for Humanities (project №13-06-00480 «The family as a resource of child´s mental development in stable and critical ontogenetic periods»).

The personal characteristics that affect the severity of procrastination of specialists were determined, including the obligation, determination, control, modesty, anxiety. Modem warfare has a devastating effect on the well-being of children, especially those described as child soldiers. These children are taken out of their safe environment, their rights are violated, and they are subjected by warlords to all forms of suffering that not befit any stage of their life. Their experiences distort their personal development and disrupt family and community life. This essay explores the impact of war on children in a globalized world with particular focus on Sierra Leone and Uganda, two countries in Africa with prolonged wars. Efforts by various organizations and agencies to rehabilitate and reintegrate these children are commendable, but more preventive measures entailing political, economic, andl cultural changes are needed that provide young people with productive opportunities. Contemporary means of communication sensitive to indigenous cultures are also needed to complement folk media and empower people to demobilize and reintegrate child soldiers as well as prevent child soldiering.

After a long period of supremacy for a growth-addicted paradigm, the historic rupture caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has opened a window for a potential global review of our political, economic, and social spheres. In an attempt to decouple growth and well-being, the degrowth movement is spreading – especially in the Global North – alternatives to achieving social well-being within ecological boundaries. This new perspective aims to reorient the values driving political and economic agendas and to reword them through the lenses of solidarity and care. The current unprecedented health crisis has ushered in a period of revisions and discussions about these new development concepts. Despite the negative consequences of the pandemic, then, it has successfully shown the fragility of current economic models and contributed to debates about the sort of policies advocated by degrowth. This article discusses the principles of degrowth and its connections and contributions to the current scenario.
