The constantly increasing growth in the number of cars is one of the reasons for the deterioration of the ecological situation in cities and large settlements. In Kazakhstan, on a national scale, the share of motor vehicles in total emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere by all technogenic sources reaches on average 40%, in the mass of industrial waste - 2%. The content of toxic substances in the exhaust of diesel and gasoline engines varies and depends on the type of engine and mode of operation, as well as on the quality of the fuel, the composition of the combustible mixture in the engine cylinders, speed and driving conditions, ignition system and fuel control. The number of all toxic components in the exhaust gas exceeds the maximum permissible standards by tens and hundreds of times. One of the most reliable ways to reduce the toxicity of vehicle exhaust gases and remove harmful substances is the complete oxidation of exhaust components using catalytic compositions on metal or ceramic block carriers. The article accumulates data from the scientific literature about toxicity of different components of exhaust gases and catalytic neutralization of vehicle exhaust gases by various scientific schools.

Intensive urbanization processes, an increase in the number of urban population and transport have led to an increase in the technogenic load on the environment, in particular on the atmospheric air. Among a significant number of sources of environmental pollution, roads and vehicles pose a significant threat. Motor vehicles cause irreparable harm to human health and the environment. Regular assessment of the quality of atmospheric air in residential areas of cities with heavy traffic to establish the level of potential risk to public health is an urgent task. The study purpose is the social consequences of transport emissions; determination of the anthropogenic load on the air and of the indicator of public health risk from the vehicle exhaust impact. The study was carried out on the example of the residential and the most loaded transport area of Poltava (Ukraine). The study demonstrates that the overwhelming majority of the urban population lives in areas where health risk indicators exceed permissible norms. Since the elderly, children and students are most often present on the street and near houses, they are at the greatest risk. The same applies to vehicle drivers who are often idle in "traffic jams". In turn, such high levels of air pollution pose even greater risks to public health, in particular to the development of respiratory diseases. In the study of the peculiarities of Ukrainian legislation in this area, it was established that the mechanism for collecting information about the quality of the environment, however, there is no requirement to inform the population about it.

To ensure high quality and productive work of employ-ees, it is necessary to achieve the target parameters of the microclimate and to exclude harmful and toxic substances in the atmosphere of the working area of agricultural prem-ises of a closed volume and air exchange. The main rea-son for the distortion of the air-gas regime of the room is the use of agricultural machines in closed industrial prem-ises (warehouses, storage facilities, livestock facilities, etc.). As a result, there is a decrease in the quality of prod-ucts and working conditions at agricultural enterprises, as well as a reduction in the operational life of structures. To-day, in agricultural machinery, diesel engines are most often used as power units which, unlike gasoline engines are more economical, and also reduce the harmful impact on the environment. But, despite this, the operation of die-sel engines still causes the accumulation of harmful com-ponents in the atmosphere of the room which negatively affects the health of the staff. The analysis of the designs of devices for exhaust gas purificationof internal combus-tion engines revealed the problems that affect the efficien-cy of the purification. The most significant problems are as following: large weight and dimensions, reduced efficiency of the neutralizers when the engine is running at modes close to the nominal ones, and large gas-dynamic re-sistance. To solve these problems, the design of a device for exhaust gas purificationin diesel engines was devel-oped. The use of this utility model will increase the efficien-cy of the device for exhaust gas purification. It will improve the environmental performance of the diesel engine reduc-ing emissions of harmful substances and soot into the at-mosphere.

When characterizing vehicle emissions, as a rule, the speed of traffic flows is not taken into account, which significantly reduces its accuracy. In this regard, the use of the cartographic method for assessing the speed of traffic flows on the tracks is quite reasonable and relevant. The assessment of the intra-annual dynamics of the intensity of traffic flows and emissions of the main components of exhaust gases by vehicles on the streets of the city of Ryazan and bypass roads using a cartographic method for recording the intensity of traffic flows was carried out. The study was conducted in 2018–2019 on the territory of Ryazan. The material used for the study was cartographic data published in free access on the website www.yandex.ru traffic jams. The length of traffic flows with a speed of 5-10 km / h (heavy traffic conditions – TTU) was determined at different times of the day on days of the week. The indicators of the average hourly length of heavy transport conditions were calculated. Bypass roads of the city were characterized by a significantly greater length of sections with TTU compared to the city streets from Tuesday to Thursday and Sunday (p<0.05). The increased complication of traffic conditions during morning and evening rush hours led to an average annual increase in emissions of the main components of vehicle exhaust gases of 17.7% and 14.9% respectively, with the largest increase in emissions being typical for the city center. At the same time, the maximum complication of transport conditions on the bypass roads was observed in the summer and spring (from Monday to Wednesday and Sunday), while on city highways - on working days in the autumn and weekends in winter. On the city streets, the greatest length of heavy traffic conditions during the morning rush hour was observed in winter, and the shortest was in summer, while the evening rush hour, on the contrary, was most pronounced in autumn. On the bypass roads, there was a clear tendency towards heavier transport conditions over a longer period of the day according to the scheme winter–autumn–spring– summer.

The role and importance of the educational migration environment in activating migration movements of the population is described. The main components of the educational migration environment of the population are identified, and their features are outlined. Indicators have been proposed and the conditions for the formation of the educational migration environment of the population have been determined. It is proved that «freedom of knowledge movement» motivates students, teachers and researchers to combine educational and research activities with future employment abroad. The processes of educational migration in the form of cross-border education and academic mobility are presented. The concept of educational migration environment is defined and five main components of its formation are described: quantitative measurement of educational migration potential; quality of the academic environment; motivational conditions; opportunities for universities and industry collaboration in research; institutional conditions in the educational sphere. The list of indicators offered by the Ukrainian statistics is provided for quantitative representation of each component of the educational migration. Based on the method of multidimensional (cluster) analysis, the regional index of formation of educational migration environment is calculated. Using this method allows to move from the assessment of educational migration environment on 28 indicators to the construction of one synthetic indicator. Application of methodical approach allows to see the place of the region by the important parameters of development of the environment of educational migration of the population, to evaluate the attractiveness, opportunities and threats of formation of this environment in the regional dimension. It is proved that the «most favorable» environment in the Carpathian region has the Lviv region (4th place in Ukraine). Other regions of the Ukrainian Carpathians occupy in the ranking the lower places: respectively Ivano-Frankivsk (15th place), Chernivtsi (21st place), Transcarpathian region (24th place).

Background: Scutellariae Radix (Huangqin) is commonly processed into 3 products for different clinical applications. However, a simple analytical method for quality control has rarely been reported to quickly estimate the degree of processing Huangqin or distinguish differently processed products or unqualified Huangqin products. Objective: To study a new strategy for quality control in the processing practice of Huangqin. Methods: Seven kinds of flavonoids that mainly exist in Huangqin were determined by HPLC-DAD. Chromatographic fingerprints were established to study the variation and discipline of the 3 processed products of Huangqin. PCA and OPLS-DA were used to classify differently processed products of Huangqin. Results: The results showed that baicalin and wogonoside were the main components in the crude and the alcohol Huangqin herb while baicalein and wogonin mainly existed in carbonized Huangqin. The results of mathematical statistics revealed that the processing techniques can make the quality of medicinal materials more uniform. Conclusion: This multivariate monitoring strategy is suitable for quality control in the processing of Huangqin.

The quality of human life is linked to the exploitation of mining resources. The Exploitability Index (EI) assesses the actual possibilities to enable a mine according to several factors. The environment is one of the most constraining ones, but its analysis is made in a shallow way. This research is focused on its determination, according to a new preliminary methodology that sets the main components of the environmental impact related to the development of an exploitation of industrial minerals and its weighting according to the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). It is applied to the case of the ophitic outcrops in Cantabria (Spain). Twelve components are proposed and weighted with the AHP and an algorithm that allows for assigning a normalized value for the environmental factor to each deposit. Geographic Information Systems (GISs) are applied, allowing us to map a large number of components of the environmental factors. This provides a much more accurate estimation of the environmental factor, with respect to reality, and improves the traditional methodology in a substantial way. It can be established as a methodology for mining spaces planning, but it is suitable for other contexts, and it raises developing the environmental analysis before selecting the outcrop to be exploited.

Abstract:This paper presents an analysis of two distinct human lifting movements regarding acceleration and angular velocity. For the first movement, the ergonomic one, the test persons produced the lifting power by squatting down, bending at the hips and knees only. Whereas performing the unergonomic one they bent forward lifting the box mainly with their backs. The measurements were taken by using a vest equipped with five Inertial Measurement Units (IMU) with 9 Dimensions of Freedom (DOF) each. In the following the IMU data captured for these two movements will be evaluated using statistics and visualized. It will also be discussed with respect to their suitability as features for further machine learning classifications. The reason for observing these movements is that occupational diseases of the musculoskeletal system lead to a reduction of the workers’ quality of life and extra costs for companies. Therefore, a vest, called CareJack, was designed to give the worker a real-time feedback about his ergonomic state while working. The CareJack is an approach to reduce the risk of spinal and back diseases. This paper will also present the idea behind it as well as its main components.

The article describes the issues of transport of bulk materials. The knowledge of this process has a key impact on the rational planning of transport tasks. It is necessary to have knowledge about the transport services market and the competition that exists in it. In order to achieve a competitive advantage on the market, enterprises should analyze data on the implementation of transport tasks on an ongoing basis. It is also important that the costs incurred from the conducted activity are minimized, while increasing the quality of services and taking into account the sustainable development of the enterprise. The study analyzes data from a few selected motor vehicles in the period of 3 years of operation, coming from an enterprise specializing in the transport of bulk materials. Moreover, a global sensitivity analysis was performed based on a neural model describing the impact of the analyzed factors on the company’s profit. The results show that the most important factors influencing the company’s profit are the fuel consumption of individual vehicles, the driver (driving style) and the month (average temperature, weather conditions).

AbstractThe COVID-19 pandemic was confirmed in Italy at the end of January 2020, when the first positive cases for the virus were identified. At the beginning of March, the virus had spread to all Italian regions and on 10 March 2020 the lockdown phase began, limiting the movement of people and prohibiting almost all commercial activities, businesses and non-essential industries. As a result, millions of people were forced to stay at home, causing a drastic drop in traffic volume, which significantly changed the acoustic environment and air quality of cities. On 4 May 2020, the lockdown was partially lifted and activities were progressively reopened. Therefore, traffic gradually started to increase and, consequently, the noise emitted by motor vehicles. This behaviour was confirmed by the data collected by the DYNAMAP system, an automatic platform developed within the LIFE DYNAMAP project, providing real time traffic noise maps in terms of sound pressure levels and impacts at receivers (people and dwellings exposed to noise level bands). In this paper traffic and non-traffic-related noise events in the cities of Rome and Milan from March to May 2020 are analysed and compared to the corresponding values in 2019 to evaluate the effects of the lockdown period.
