Some scholars have been so blunt as to claim that information technology is the answer to all the problems facing supply chain managers. We posit that, although information technology integration is necessary for a supply chain to succeed, people are also crucial. We further propose that managers must take into consideration organizational culture and the education and training of employees to facilitate supply chain collaboration and success. We interviewed 51 senior-level supply chain managers across five channel positions. Findings support our position that management of people is crucial to supply chain integration, and that integration is improved through an accommodating organizational culture and training and educational programs. Also from our findings, we supply a prescription for building the supply chain cross-functional manager.

English Language is vital in developing communication and social skills in learners as it does empower learners to compete favorably with their peers around the world. The ex-post factor approach of the survey design was adopted in the study. A random sampling technique was used to select twenty primary schools in Oyo state, Nigeria, with 168 English teachers who were currently undergoing the SUBEB/UBEC teacher professional development programme (2018). Two instruments: Teacher Teaching Competence Scale (TTCS) with Cronbach’s Alpha reliability coefficient of 0.68 and the Teachers Checklist Observation Scale (TCOS) with Scott Pi reliability coefficient of 0.71 were used for data collection. The data collection lasted for a period of fourteen weeks. Data collected were analysed using descriptive statistics and correlation at 0.05 level of significance. Results revealed that teacher’ attendance and exposure to a professional development and training programme; does enhance their professional teaching competences. It is therefore expedient that stakeholders in the education sector; especially governmental agencies, sponsor and encourage practicing primary teachers in attending and participating in professional development programmes; incentives should also be given to these teachers. This will go a long way at ensuring that these teachers look forward to attending such programmes at any time in the future

The problem of distance learning in practice arose in Ukraine over the last period, when quarantine measures were introduced due to the spread of COVID-19. After the announcement by the government and the relevant state institutions of compulsory distance learning, teachers faced real problems in the implementation of this form of education, which require urgent consideration and resolution. And although distance learning has become an integral part of the daily life of most students during quarantine, it does not meet the requirements of the modern information society. These facts explain the relevance of this study. The purpose of this paper is to analyse and generalise the present state of distance learning in Ukraine in general and in terms of language study, including English. The present state of distance learning in Ukraine and the prospects for its development are determined using theoretical analysis, synthesis, comparison, individualisation and generalisation. Distance learning can be a powerful tool for everyone who wants to learn foreign languages and an effective means of expanding the creative potential of students.
