Tl 2 Ba 2 CaCu 2 O 10 ( Tl :2212) thin films were prepared on LaAlO 3 substrates with (0 0 1) direction normal to their surface, and the logR-logH characteristics were measured using the in-plane resistivity measurements in magnetic fields tilted away from c axis to the ab-plane. The H *c- H ab phase diagram was obtained by defining a resistance criterion below the vortex phase melting transition resistance. The linear dependence of H *c on H ab in most angular range shows that the crossing-lattice structure in the tilted fields exists in Tl :2212. A perpendicular line was observed in the H *c- H ab diagram at the range of θ ¡ 0.4 ° at 88K, which was attributed to the lock-in transition.

AbstractThe fundamental processes governing the appearance of dissipation due to flux motion in superconductors are reviewed. The dominant thermally‐activated resistive processes are discussed, and evidence for a sharp melting transition of the flux lattice is assessed.

ABSTRACTA second-order vortex-solid melting transition in twinned Y-Ba-Cu-O single crystals is manifested by two independent types of electrical transport measurements: the electric field (E) versus current density (J) isotherms, and the ac resistivity (ρ) vs current frequency (ω) isotherms. Universal static and dynamic exponents (ν ≈ 2/3 and Ζ ≈ 3, respectively) are found for magnetic fields ranging from 1 to 90 kOe, frequencies ranging from 0 to 2 MHz, magnetic directions parallel and perpendicular to the crystal c-axis, as well as samples with and without proton irradiations. At microwave frequencies, we find that the vortex dissipation in Nd-Ce-Cu-O epitaxial films is consistent with the viscous motion of individual vortices, due to the break down of the critical scaling theory in the high frequency limit.

ABSTRACTAC transport measurements show that the vortex dynamics in a twinned superconducting Y-Ba-Cu-O single crystal are consistant with a second order vortex-solid melting transition. Indentification of the universal functions and consistent measurements of the critical exponents v = 0.7 and z= 3.0 found in magnetic fields from IkOe to 90kOe as well as DC transport measurements offer strong evidence for this transition.
