A highly stable porphyrinic MOF with free-carboxylic group functionalized pore surfaces exhibits a high proton conductivity of 3.9 × 10−2 S cm−1 at 80 °C and 97% RH, which is comparable to most of the reported proton conductive MOFs.

Chair 3D Co(II) phosphite frameworks have been prepared by the ionothermal method. It belongs to chiral space group P3221, and the whole framework can be topologically represented as a chiral 4-connected qtz net. It shows a multistep dielectric response arising from the reorientation of Me2-DABCO in the chiral cavities. It can also serve as a pron conductor with high conductivity, 1.71 × 10−3 S cm−1, at room temperature, which is attributed to the formation of denser hydrogen-bonding networks providing efficient proton-transfer pathways.

A luminescent metal–organic framework, [Cd(HDMPhIDC)(H2O)]n (1), has been successfully synthesized and structurally characterized. MOF 1 exhibits good recognition performance for Fe3+ ions. The recognition mechanism of Fe3+ was explored by UV-Vis and PXRD determinations. 1 was found to have a high proton conductivity value of 1.30 × 10−4 S cm−1 at 100 °C and 98% RH.

The MOFs were constructed by ligand AHP and sulfonate analogues. MOF4 exhibits a high proton conductivity of 1.95 × 10−3 S cm−1 at 95 °C and 98% relative humidity. MOFs 1–5 also serve as photocatalysts for methylene blue degradation.
