The methods of isolation, purification and qualitative and quantitative determination of phenol in air and biological fluids of an organism are offered. Isolation was carried out by distillation with water vapor, purification by extraction with chloroform, and identification by qualitative reactions, by chromatography in a thin layer of sorbent and by liquid chromatography. The quantitative determination of phenol was carried out by liquid chromatography in a reverse phase (chromatograph "Tsvet-304" with an ultraviolet detector). Calculation of the quantitative content of phenol was carried out by the method of absolute calibration. As a result of the research, it was found that by using the molecular liquid chromatography method, it is possible to determine 17-20% of phenol isolated from urine and 21-24% isolated from the air. The retention time of phenol 1h.14s, the results of the analysis are well reproducible. The worked out techniques have high resolution, high sensitivity and speed of analysis.

AbstractApplication of 31P NMR for qualitative and quantitative determination of added phosphorus compounds in meat samples is described. Furthermore, usefulness of the proposed method for monitoring of poly- and pyrophosphates hydrolysis in meat is discussed. Calibration curves based on the 31P resonance line areas were elaborated for Na3P3O9, Na5P3O10, Na2H2P2O7, and K4P2O7 resulting in linearity (R 2 = 0.9976, 0.9953, 0.9974, and 0.9524, respectively), detection limits (DL from 0.0018 mol L−1 for Na3P3O9 to 0.0070 mol L−1 for K4P2O7), and quantification limits (QL from 0.0060 mol L−1 for Na3P3O9 to 0.0234 mol L−1 for K4P2O7). The developed procedure was applied for laboratory prepared meat samples and compared with the standard UV-VIS method. The minimal sample pretreatment, obtained within-day precision (CV ≤ 2.0 %) and accuracy (as recovery ≥ 95 %) suggest 31P NMR as an alternative method of phosphorus determination in food analysis.

Development of sensitive techniques for rapid detection of viruses is on a high demand. Surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) is an appropriate tool for new techniques due to its high sensitivity. DNA aptamers are short structured oligonucleotides that can provide specificity for SERS biosensors. Existing SERS-based aptasensors for rapid virus detection had several disadvantages. Some of them lacked possibility of quantitative determination, while others had sophisticated and expensive implementation. In this paper, we provide a new approach that combines rapid specific detection and the possibility of quantitative determination of viruses using the example of influenza A virus.

Abstract A TLCdensitometric method has been developed for simultaneous identification and quantitative determination of amikacin, gentamicin, kanamycin, neomycin, netilmicin, and tobramycin. This separation of antibiotics was achieved on silica gel TLC plates without a fluorescent indicator and with methanol25 ammoniachloroform (3 + 2 + 1, v/v/v) as the mobile phase. The densitometric measurements were made at 500 nm after detection with a 0.2 ninhydrin solution in ethanol. Under these conditions, good separation of the chosen aminoglycosides was obtained. The method is distinguished by high sensitivity, with the LOD from 0.25 g for amikacin to 1.00 g for gentamicin and the LOQ from 0.5 g for amikacin to 1.65 g for gentamicin, and a wide linearity range 0.756.25 g/spot for amikacin and netilmicin and 1.512.50 g/spot for other antibiotics. The precision of the determination was very good; RSD varied in the range 0.30.6.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the development of sensitive and rapid techniques for detection of viruses have become vital. Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) is an appropriate tool for new techniques due to its high sensitivity. SERS materials modified with short-structured oligonucleotides (DNA aptamers) provide specificity for SERS biosensors. Existing SERS-based aptasensors for rapid virus detection are either inapplicable for quantitative determination or have sophisticated and expensive construction and implementation. In this paper, we provide a SERS-aptasensor based on colloidal solutions which combines rapidity and specificity in quantitative determination of SARS-CoV-2 virus, discriminating it from the other respiratory viruses.

A method of identification and quantitative determination of baclofen in blood by HPLC with mass spectrometry detection has been developed. It is characterized by high sensitivity, specificity, linearity, accuracy, reproducibility, and a low detection for quantitative determination. The method has been used for diagnostics of acute baclofen poisoning in patients.
