Purpose Geometric structure error of parabolic trough concentrator (PTC) frame affects the installation accuracy of mirrors and absorber tubes and thus decreases the solar energy concentrating efficiency. Until now, there is no effective method to instruct the assembly and regulation of PTC frames. This paper aims to propose a vision guided method for fast and accurate regulation of mirror and absorber supports to improve the geometric quality of PTC frames. Design/methodology/approach The PTC frame support regulating system consists of a general-purpose online photogrammetry system, frame support measurement adaptors and data analyzing software. First, the positions and angles of all the supports are measured in real time by the online photogrammetric system. Then, the measured positions and angles are aligned to the design reference frame through the transformation calculated by an absorber position constrained nonlinear optimization so as to get the geometric errors and regulating amounts. Finally, a graduated pseudo-color-based visualization method is proposed to assist the manual or automated regulation of PTC frame supports in site. Findings The proposed method does not need to construct a reference system nor specify the rotation attitude of the PTC frame, and it is capable of conducting efficient and accurate regulation on PTC frame assembly line. The method is applied to manual regulation of a light type PTC frame structure. After regulation, the maximum position and angle errors of supports are reduced to less than 0.15 mm and 0.15° respectively and the intercept factor is increased to 97%, which meets the requirement for a qualified PTC concentrator. Originality/value To the authors’ knowledge, this paper is the first to propose a vision guided assembly or regulation method for PTC frame structures. The research uses online photogrammetry system to provide real-time geometric quality information feedback, elaborates the data analysis algorithm and provides the visualization method for accurate and efficient in site regulation. Furthermore, this paper also provides theories, methods and experiences for other applications that use vision guidance for attitude regulation and digital flexible assembly of large equipment.

Plagiarism is no longer a mere issue, but it is a global fact that this disease has attacked higher education, and regarding ethics, immoral and irresponsible academics has shaken the world of education. Plagiarism has become a systematic virus that must be tackled from the root of the problem. Plagiarism is the responsibility of higher education with the government in which the Indonesian government of higher education has already established its legislation on plagiarism and colleges elaborate on it in their respective academic rules. The prevention of plagiarism begins with building a winning, honest, anti-plagiarism, and responsible mentality. It also provides a plagiarism prevention system manual (manual regulation and regulation through editorial team, plagiarism law socialization, honest and responsible culture building), as well as the use of anti-plagiarism software in college and internet and mobile browsing. Plagiarism at a high altitude can kill the creativity and wealth of thinking of pouring new ideas into work. Students who do plagiarism means to have shut down their intellectual honesty in their work. While systems that allow plagiarism to occur that they have shut down the integrity of students in work and destroy the creativity of other students in college who uphold honesty in the work.

Based on the mesophilic two-phase anaerobic reactor for maize ethanol wastewater treatment, the start-up, cultivation and the morphology of mature granular sludge in improved methanogenic UASB were studied. The reactor was initiated at a low loading rate. By means of increasing volume loading rate gradually and regulating internal circulation, the improved methanogenic UASB was operated under an optimal condition. After more than two months of operation, the size for the 63% of total granular sludge was more than 1.3mm, the biogas production rate and COD removal rate achieved 539L/d and 90%, respectively. Start-up of improved methanogenic UASB was accomplished successfully. Improved UASB, served as methanogenic phase of two phase anaerobic process, can adjust pH value of influent automatically. The manual regulation of pH value during start-up could be stopped when the granular sludge in improved methanogenic UASB went into maturity stage. The microfloras of mature methanogenic granular sludge are mainly brevibacterium and filamentous bacteria. Methanothrix soehngenii is the dominant consortium after the long-term operation under low-strength.

The metric pump is widely used in the chemical industry and other industries which need fluid translation. It has the ability of accurate flow regulating. However, it is mainly by operating the hand wheel on the pump to regulate the flow of the pump at present. The accuracy of manual regulation is low, and the manual operated metric pump is not suitable to be used in the poisonous and dangerous circumstances. This paper chose AT89S52 as the main controller, which controlled the stepper motor. After reducing the speed by speed reducer, the stepper motor drove leadscrew to control the N-Shape Shaft, which is the flow regulating part on the pump. The system used LCD as the display unit, it can displayed the the setting values, and the values changed as the stepper motor moved. The system used 4×4 keyboard as the input interface, it has more keys which means more control funtions and inputing flow values is convenient. The experimental results indicate that the error between actual flow value and the setting value is within 2%. It reaches the factory demand. This flow regulation instrument has resloved unconvenience in manual regulation way and improved the control accuracy.

SUMMARYA glasshouse was built over an established tea crop in Malawi, and the internal air temperature was controlled by manual regulation of the heating, cooling and ventilation rates of two domestic air conditioners. When the inside environment was carefully matched to conditions outside, the glasshouse had only a minor influence on the tissue temperature, stomatal behaviour, leaf water potential and shoot growth of the bushes. The system could be a useful aid to experimentation on the temperature and water relations of field crops in the tropics.
