Elopement is a dangerous behavior common in children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Relative to other forms of problematic behavior, elopement has received little attention in both assessment and treatment. The current study entailed a functional analysis of elopement of one child with ASD, results of which suggested a partially automatic function. We then evaluated a differential reinforcement procedure, along with a rule, which successfully decreased elopement without the use of blocking. A changing-criterion design embedded within a withdrawal design was used to gradually increase the criterion for maintaining a close proximity to a therapist prior to being allowed to run.

The on-going renovation and reconstruction of the Premonstrate Monastery in Teplá was the site for the application of the results of research carried out within the NAKI research project [1]. Barrel vaults with lunettes over the arcaded walk of the convent had been damaged at the crown by a continuous tensile crack one to several millimetres in width. The vault was reinforced and stabilised with strips of a carbon composite and epoxy resin. The article describes the design and the stabilisation and reinforcement procedure of the vaults over the arcaded walk on the 1st overground storey of the convent damaged by a continuous, at places prominent tensile crack at the vault crown using the method of non-prestressed strips of a carbon composite.
