Virtual Machine Placement Using Multi-Objective Bat Algorithm With Decomposition in Distributed Cloud

Virtual machine placement in cloud computing considering multiple objectives is one of the significant issues in modern virtualized datacenters. Many businesses and organizations are outsourcing their computational workload to the cloud datacenters, which increases datacenter energy consumption and emission of CO2. In particular, allocating a virtual machine to a physical server in the community cloud model is even challenging due to its dynamic nature. Unlike public clouds, cloud servers are not always available in the same location. In this paper, a bio-inspired bat algorithm using decomposition (MOBA/D) is proposed to reduce three different objectives namely minimization of power consumption, minimization of network latency, and maximization of economical revenue. The performance of the proposed algorithm is compared with other multi-objective algorithms in terms of feasible solutions and execution time.

Factors Affecting the Organizational Adoption of Secure Community Cloud in KSA

Cloud computing is an innovative technology and gaining popularity in variety of organization to meet their computing requirements. Saudi Arabia is considered as the Gulf region’s high economy and the future market for cloud computing technologies. Analysis of its economic benefits, adequacy from technical, organizational, and environmental viewpoints, and possible challenges should precede the implementation of new technologies. Latest research and developments on cloud computing are causally linked to the emphasis on applications, advantages, expenditures, and technology. The community cloud (CC) is an impressive replacement for different organizations as it promotes cost reduction and quality enhancement. However, this research was performed to study the perception of IT and telecommunications company employees and computer users who support community cloud. The current state of community cloud adoption in KSA is analyzed. Present challenges impact the adoption of community cloud in Saudi Arabia and define the motivation factors. Questionnaires were used to accomplish these goals. Questionnaires were designed to accomplish these goals and it is implemented using survey. Questions about confidence are also a key issue. Issues such as data privacy, integrity, and availability are the factors influencing the organization’s acceptance of community cloud.

Systems, Services, Solutions of the Public Cloud

With the public cloud, organizations have access to an extensive, diverse range of new and emerging technologies as well as well-established ones. Their support staff may combine these technologies in a number of novel ways to form solutions that do more and cost less while meeting the business requirements of organizations. It concludes with the risks and challenges associated with security and the need of organizations to make use of of multiple public cloud providers.

The Exploration of Government as a Service Through Community Cloud Computing

The current article discusses the concept of government as a service through the use of cloud computing which is managed from a public community, such as the citizens of a municipality. It suggests a potential architecture of a gamified community cloud in order to transform cloud computing management to an enjoyable and valuable experience. The architecture includes the development of an on-site community and an outsourced community cloud computing infrastructure. Moreover, additional discussion in this article includes the potentiality of cloud computing as a tool towards the succesful operation of a self governed community.

An Unified Secured Cloud System for the Education Sector of India

Cloud computing is based on years of research on various computing paradigms. It provides elasticity, which is useful in the situations of uneven ICT resources demands. As the world is moving towards digitalization, the education sector is expected to meet the pace. Acquiring and maintaining the ICT resources also necessitates a huge amount of cost. Education sector as a community can use cloud services on various levels. Though the cloud is very successfully running technology, it also shows some flaws in the area of security, privacy and trust. The research demonstrates a model in which major security areas are covered like authorization, authentication, identity management, access control, privacy, data encryption, and network security. The total idea revolves around the community cloud as university at the center and other associated colleges accessing the resources. This study uses OpenStack environment to create a complete cloud environment. The validation of the model is performed using some cases and some tools.

I-Voting on Cloud Framework

With large scale automation gathering pace among various branches and services, the paper proposes an Online Voting System built on a Cloud Framework which combines the fairness and privacy of the existing system which uses Electronic Voting Machines, with the transparency and pliability of the new-age technology by using Cloud Computing Framework wherein a community cloud can secure the required biometrics and couple it with the web framework and mobile application to ensure a free-and-fair elections with the voting right at the voters fingertip. This paper proposes a Cloud Framework which can implement this Internet-Voting (I-Voting) by employing Aadhar UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) secured by encryption techniques which can be deployed by a software or an application where the user can validate his biometrics and vote in quick-time, which can then be encrypted and stored in a database from where the results can be accessed quickly saving time and resources. The proposed application combines Cloud Framework, Data Security and Biometric Verification along with what advantages it offers against the existing systems.
