The aim of this study is to develop an attitude scale to measure the attitude of farmers towards backward and forward linkages in cotton cultivation. It has been a long time need for a proper scale to measure the attitude of farmers towards backward and forward linkages in cotton cultivation, it was thought necessary to construct a scale for the purpose. Keeping this in view, an attempt has been made to develop a scale for measuring the attitude of farmers towards backward and forward linkages in cotton cultivation. Method of summated rating scale, by Likert [1], was used. Twenty four statements were selected from 45 statements for which ‘t’ values were worked out, whose values were highest i.e., with t-values more than 1.75.

A scale was developed to measure the "attitude of farmers towards Crop Insurance Scheme". Based on the review of literature and discussion with the expert's, 48 statements were enlisted. The Likert's summated rating scale was followed in the construction of scale. The list of 48 statements were sent to a panel of 250 experts with the request, to critically evaluate each statement for its relevancy to measure the attitude of farmers towards Crop Insurance Scheme. Out of 250 experts selected for the scale construction, 74 experts responded in time and at the earliest. Based on their judgment an aggregate of 30 statements was selected by finding the Relevancy Weightage (RW). Accordingly, statements having relevancy percentage >75, relevancy weightage >0.75 and mean relevancy score >3.00 were considered for the item analysis. In item analysis, the selected 30 statements were administered on 40 farmers in the non-sample area. Finally, a total of 24 statements were selected for the study, based on the ‘t’ values (> 1.75) resulted from the item analysis and were included in the final scale. The ‘r’ value of the scale was found to be 0.81, which was significant at one per cent level indicating the high reliability. Hence, the scale developed was found to reliable and valid. Thus, the instrument developed to measure the attitude of farmers towards Crop Insurance Scheme is useful in the similar studies.

Abstract— Prof. Soeparwi Veterinary Hospital is one of veterinary medical service providers in Yogyakarta ad Central Java areas in which the transaction and the documentation managing process is still done manually. Therefore, Prof. Soeparwi VH needs a management information system that facilitate them in managing process and documentation of transactions, one of which is through billing or billing subsystem. This subsystem was designed using UML and was developed in a form of web-based prototype using PHP and HTML languages as well as CSS with CodeIgniter framework and MySQL for database.  The development of this billing subsystem applied a Rapid Application Development (RAD) model process that focused on the working model and obtained feedback from users to improve the system. Results of this system's development were evaluated with a system feasibility test and functionality test. A system feasibility test was administered by distributing Likert scale questionnaire and analysed them based on a summated rating scale method which showed a result of 85.4%. That result indicates that users strongly agree that the system has met their needs.  The system functionality was tested using a black box method and the result was that the system properly functioned. This billing subsystem could process transaction bills automatically included in the calculation. This system produced bills and reports that could be printed and exported. In addition, data was stored in a database so that it supported paperless documentation.

The study aims to develop an instrument used to measure  faith of the students of Islamic senior high schools. The study was a research and development study consisting of three steps: pre development, development process, and presentation. The quantitative data analysis was to test the validity and reliability of the instrument and to test the model fit through the Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) using LISREL 8.80 Program. The results of the study show that: (1) the faith instrument of the study is an inventory model of summated rating scale containing 113 items named as Islamic Faith Scale; (2) the instrument validity is considered as the loading factor value (the lowest loading factor value is 0.47 and the highest is 0.89). The instrument reliability regarded as the coefficient of the construct reliability is > 0.7, (the coefficient of reliability construct of tashdiq al-qalb is 0.847, and the coefficient of the construct reliability of amal al-qalb is 0.999); (3) the overall model fit produces a fit model indicated by Chi Square (χ2) = 48.23, df = 64, p-value = 0.929 (p > 0.05), and Root Mean Square Error of Approximation = 0.000 (< 0.08).

Purpose: In South Africa, the field of scale development and utilization in social work is referred to as “ecometrics,” that is, the measurement of ecological constructs. There is, however, a lack of ecometric tools for social workers, particularly regarding strengths or resilience. Given the high vulnerability of South African youth, this article describes the design and validation of a youth resilience measure. Method: The Youth Ecological-Resilience Scale (YERS), a multidimensional, summated rating scale that measures youth resilience within an ecological framework, was designed and validated with a diverse sample of 575 young people, using ecometric techniques. Results: The YERS shows good levels of reliability and validity. Conclusions: The YERS is suitable for group administration and research and also for assessment of individuals when triangulated with other assessment methods. Several studies of youth transitions using the YERS are described as well as suggestions for its use in social work practice.
