Ablation of silicon sample in air under irradiance of single and double laser pulses with wavelengths 355 and 532 nm was studied by means of optical and scanning electron microscopy, raman spectroscopy, profilometry of laser craters as well as video registration of plasma’s plume radiation in time. Dependence of specific sample’s material removal on laser fluence and time interval between coupled pulses of bichromatic laser irradiance was established. Spallation of silicon was found in broad range of irradiance parameters and parameters of craters formed by ablation and spallation under the action of bichromatic laser radiation were determined.

Video registration of physicochemical processes in BOF cavity at bath top blowing at application oxygen lances of various designs. Report 1. Facility and methodology of the study

Interaction of the upper oxygen jets with the BOF bath considerably effects the hot metal refining flow. To optimize the lances designs and methods of BOF bath blowing, information is needed on the actual physical and technical phenomena taking place during top blowing of BOF bath by groups of ultrasonic and sonic oxygen jets. It was shown that obtaining the information is possible at high temperature simulation of the BOF bath blowing by application oxygen lances of various designs and video registration. Results of previous studies by filming of the blowing in a BOF and OHF presented. Description of modern facilities of high temperature simulation within a multi-purpose 160 and 60‒80 kg BOFs, equipped by special manholes for observation and registration by video camera the physicochemical processes taking place on the surface of the bath presented. In particular the manholes made it possible to observe the processes taking place at various methods of top and combined blowing of the BOF bath by application regular, two-circuit and double-flow oxygen lances. A methodology of test heats carrying out presented, which ensured obtaining important practical information on forming and variation of dimensions of the reaction zone. In particular, information was obtained about the interaction of ultrasonic and sonic oxygen jets with the metal melt, development of afterburning, emission out of reaction zone C to CO2 in the subsonic and sonic oxygen jets with forming high temperature flares directed on the BOF bath surface or penetrated in the foamed slag, emissions of slag-metal suspension out the BOF, forming of metal-slag sculls on the lance tube during the blowing with various level of foamed slag-metal emulsion.

To elaborate blowing and slag modes, a clear picture of BOF bath blowing in various periods of heat is needed. It can be obtained by video registration of physicochemical processes in a BOF cavity. Results of video filming of BOF bath blowing with application two-circuit oxygen lances of five designs presented. Reliable information was obtained on rational form of organization of reaction zone of interaction of ultrasonic and sonic oxygen jets with BOF bath. The picture of physicochemical processes within the reaction zone of interaction of oxygen jets with metal, slag and gas phases of the cavity, preceded to a stable “ignition” of a heat and in the process of the whole heat. A possibility was revealed to accelerate the processes of lime dissolving and slag formation and phosphor removal intensification. The intensification can be accomplished by increase of the number of reaction zones of interaction of ultrasonic and sonic oxygen jets on bath surface and forming of foamed slag-metal emulsion, being stable within the basic part of blowing time. It was shown that at initial period of a heat, it is necessary to ensure consolidation of supersonic oxygen jets, coming out of different reaction zones of interaction. It will enable to oncoming jets to create a curtain on the way of metal and slag drops taking away, to form a flare of CO afterburning to CO2 and ensure heat energy transfer from them to mainly the bath surface. It was established that at the location of the foamed slag-metal emulsion level higher the head end of the lance, the high-temperature products of CO to CO2 afterburning reaction transfer the heat of CO surrounding macro bubble to the shell of slag-metal emulsion. An additional control effect of “hard” supersonic oxygen jets on the bath was also established when replacing the subsonic and sonic oxygen jets by nitrogen ones. At that the flow rate of nitrogen should be big enough to prevent the sealing of cylinder nozzles of the lance head by metal and slag drops during final stage of blowing. The variant of the final stage of blowing was checked experimentally by transfer to the “hard” supersonic oxygen blow, contributing to final metal and slag oxidation decrease.

Joint Unsupervised Infrared-RGB Video Registration and Fusion

We present a system to perform joint registration and fusion for RGB and Infrared (IR) video pairs. While RGB is related to human perception, IR is associated with heat. However, IR images often lack contour and texture information. The goal with the fusion of the visible and IR images is to obtain more information from them. This requires two completely matched images. However, classical methods assuming ideal imaging conditions fail to achieve satisfactory performance in actual cases. From the data-dependent modeling point of view, labeling the dataset is costly and impractical.In this context, we present a framework that tackles two challenging tasks. First, a video registration procedure that aims to align IR and RGB videos. Second, a fusion method brings all the essential information from the two video modalities to a single video. We evaluate our approach on a challenging dataset of RGB and IR video pairs collected for firefighters to handle their tasks effectively in challenging visibility conditions such as heavy smoke after a fire, see our project page.

VIDEO REGISTRATION IN THE WORK OF EMERGENCY AID AND MEDICINE DISASTERS: PROS AND CONS: EXPERIENCE OF ANTONIUS MEDVISION — E MERGENCY AID LLC

The article provides an overview and analysis of the regulatory legal acts of the Russian Federation that regulate the possibility of using video recording in the work of mobile ambulance and disaster medicine teams based on the example of our own experience of Antonius Medvision — Ambulance LLC, an organization of a non-governmental healthcare system that provides emergency medical care outside a medical organization in the Kaluga and Moscow regions.

Registering Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Videos in the Long Term

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have become a very popular way of acquiring video within contexts such as remote data acquisition or surveillance. Unfortunately, their viewpoint is often unstable, which tends to impact the automatic processing of their video flux negatively. To counteract the effects of an inconsistent viewpoint, two video processing strategies are classically adopted, namely registration and stabilization, which tend to be affected by distinct issues, namely jitter and drifting. Following our prior work, we suggest that the motion estimators used in both situations can be modeled to take into account their inherent errors. By acknowledging that drifting and jittery errors are of a different nature, we propose a combination that is able to limit their influence and build a hybrid solution for jitter-free video registration. In this work, however, our modeling was restricted to 2D-rigid transforms, which are rather limited in the case of airborne videos. In the present paper, we extend and refine the theoretical ground of our previous work. This addition allows us to show how to practically adapt our previous work to perspective transforms, which our study shows to be much more accurate for this problem. A lightweight implementation enables us to automatically register stationary UAV videos in real time. Our evaluation includes traffic surveillance recordings of up to 2 h and shows the potential of the proposed approach when paired with background subtraction tasks.

The Delay in Cavity Formation in the Intrusive Mode of Coalescence of a Freely Falling Drop with a Target Liquid

The dynamics of a cavity formed in the intrusive mode of coalescence of a freely falling drop flowing smoothly into a liquid have been traced for the first time by the methods of photo and video registration. The cavity begins to form when the bottom part of the drop submerges, when the fluid coalescence line contracts to the center of the flow, and, simultaneously with the annihilation of the drop surface, the surface of the target liquid is restored. In this case, the orientation of ligaments (thin trickles), formed in the vicinity of the contact line changes. At the initial phase, they are directed outward and distribute the transmitted momentum and energy of the drop over the entire surface of the intrusion. Retraction of the coalescence line holds the transmitted energy and momentum of the drop in the contact patch. If the kinetic energy of the falling drop noticeably exceeds the potential surface energy, the cavity begins to form at the initial contact of the fluids and deepens in the course of the entire coalescence process, capturing the drop matter.

The Diagnosing of Vehicle Steering System by Video Recording Method

The possibility of vehicle steering system diagnosis based on analysis and visualization data processing is considered. The video recording method for the diagnostic troubleshooting of steering system and front suspension group is proposed. The method provides for placement of the motor vehicle on the diagnostic station, with further webcamera installation for measuring the steering wheel rotation angle and clear contract marking on the steering joint under experiment, setting the webcamera to fix and record the beginning of the movement steering joint under experiment, the video registration of the steering test results and further video processing using dedicated software. The outcomes of the evaluation of the method is delivered.
