Abstract In mechanical design and manufacture, the minimum size of raw material of each part should be measured before processing. Generally, this size could be equal to the size of minimum bounding box. When the assembled parts of a product reach an enormous quantity, the measurement would be a rough work. This paper introduced an automated solving algorithm for the oriented bounding box based on principal axis of inertia, combined with CATIA structural tree recursive traversal algorithm according to CAA V5 Automation API, to implement an automated solution of the engineering acceptable minimum oriented bounding box of CATIA model.

Patients' treatments are becoming more personalized as healthcare becomes more commodified. Meeting this need requires not just a large allocation of capital, but also a comprehensive application of information, resulting in efforts like electronic health record standards. The quantity of medical data accessible for analytics and data extraction will grow rapidly as these become more mainstream. This is accompanied by an increase in new methods for non-invasive assessment and collection of medically important data in different forms, such as signals and pictures. Despite problems with standardization and availability, the enormous quantity of data that results is a significant tool for the machine learning industry. Biomedical CI technologies are already flourishing because of getting into this data stream. The legislative session "Computer science and information Intelligence in Biology and medicine" at ESANN addresses some of the field's most pressing issues. This paper introduces the session by highlighting a few of the submissions and pointing out possibilities and difficulties for CI in biomedicine.

The unprecedented increase in construction and developmental activities in the current era brings with it many irreversible impacts on the environment. The major impacts being the depletion of natural resources and generation of an enormous quantity of Construction and Demolition (C&D) wastes. Hence it has become important to reuse and recycle C & D wastes generated. These wastes can be processed to obtain Recycled Concrete Aggregates (RCA), which can be used for producing recycled concrete. It was found that the strength of Recycled concrete matches with that of paver quality concrete. Therefore, the study aims at producing interlocking paver blocks by replacing the normal coarse aggregates in pavers by RCA along with fly ash as admixture, an industrial waste. Fly ash being a pozzolanic admixture is used in order to overcome the loss of strength due to the addition of RCA. In the present study, a 30% replacement of normal aggregates with RCA and 15% replacement of cement with fly ash in the mix was used as it was found to provide the optimum strength. A comparison of the important properties of paver blocks were conducted between normal concrete pavers, pavers with RCA replacement and pavers with RCA replacement and fly ash. It was found out from the study that Interlocking pavers with partial replacement of normal aggregates with RCA and fly ash obtained strength comparable to that of normal paver blocks. Hence these paver blocks can be used for laying of roads and can contribute towards a sustainable development.

Abstract A series of bio-adsorbents with potential for Pb(II) removal from wastewater were prepared by treating Radix isatidis residue (RIR) with integrated chemical treatment and fermentation methods. Batch experiments were used to test the adsorption and desorption performance of different bio-adsorbents. The results showed that treated RIRs had significantly enhanced adsorption capacity of 23.5 and 27.6 mg g−1 for Pb(II) within 50 minutes, in contrast to the raw RIR's 12.2 mg g−1. RIR produced by modified chemical/fermentation treatment can remove up to 31.1 mg g−1. After five adsorption/desorption cycles, about 75% of the adsorption capacities were maintained. This study is a novel approach to reusing the enormous quantity of Chinese herbal medicine residues.

A large number of farmers are rearing sheep in Bangladesh. Enormous quantity of local sheep wool are wasted due to lack of processing and proper applications. As the consciousness is growing for the use of natural fibre products, this wool can play a significant role. If proper processing technology can be employed in this sector, the natural fibre will be a good resource for us and will meet today’s necessity in all respects of life. Wool is normally collected from sheep by shearing in our country. A total of about 2.5 thousand metric tons of raw wool can be collected from local sheep every year. Therefore, the present experiment was undertaken to know the physico-mechanical properties of blended yarn. Wool and jute were treated with chemicals, washed, dried and opened to form spin able fibre. After that, jute, cotton and wool fibres were turned to blended yarn through cotton processing system. In results, it was observed that 30% wool, 30% jute and 40% cotton fibre 12s blended yarn used for blended yarn production. Therefore, Wool, jute and cotton blended yarn may be a new horizon for developing diversified products. Bangladesh J. of Livestock Res. 21-25: 173-177, 2018

In his well-known Denkschrift (1847), Theodor Mommsen, by then not yet thirty years old, focused on researching extensively the manuscript collections of various libraries, making order in the jumble of papers (Papierwust) dispersed in archival holdings; in short, he was aiming at a systematic ordering, above all for a correct definition of a titulus genuinus and a titulus falsus, a problem with which his scholarly research was always concerned, even in its most minute details. In 1881, Mommsen promoted the foundation of a Bibliotheca epigraphica manuscripta, which should have indexed and described the enormous quantity of handwritten witnesses of Latin inscriptions scattered through various institutions, public and private. One wonders about the possibilities of starting such a pioneering Mommsenian project anew, creating a shared database, through the synergy of the libraries and universities that have shown interest towards this specific research field.
