Full-time Studies and Volunteering

Our volunteering began being a part of the editorial support team in the Journal of Nepal Medical Association. This has really built up our confidence to work as a team. During our days in Journal Office, a sudden knock of another opportunity stroke our door. The Administrative Officer of Nepal Medical Association asked us about volunteering in the Election of Nepal Medical Association which held from 17th to 21st Magh, 2076 and we accepted it. We also helped NMA during the pre-election procedure that needs to be done before going for the election. We think that was the work where we got the trust of NMA officers.

In an open publishing house not so far, far away…

SummaryAs BJPsych Open completes its first circle around the sun and marks its first anniversary, we share with you its strengths and advantages that underpin its success as a new journal. First and foremost, the editorial team has maintained rigorous scientific standards while pursuing an open access publishing model that, by design, accommodates a broad range of clinical and scientific topics. Fundamental to BJPsych Open's mission has been our policy of accepting papers that are both methodologically sound and intellectually stimulating. The calibre of the journal has already been recognised, with recent notification of indexing all its content in PubMed Central. This reflects the quality of submissions and is the result of concerted efforts by the authors, the editorial board, the many selfless reviewers and our dedicated staff in the journal office. In this issue we are debuting a new column, Technology in the NICU, that will help you sort through the technological jungle we call NICU. Designed to introduce you to a variety of computerized devices found both at the bedside and in our back pockets, Technology in the NICU will bring you up to speed with the jargon, the benefits, and the drawbacks of many of the new devices now available to enhance our workplace.
