We present a small set hypothetical zeolite frameworks that are structurally related to faujasite. They are found by examination of the <b>-t</b> nets of the Frank-Kasper phases, which optimize the conditions for regular-tetrahedral nets. The new frameworks have plausible framework energy, as estimated by empirical potential in the GULP program. One of the new frameworks, <b>fav</b>, has framework energy, as a pure silicate, that is only slightly higher than faujasite itself. These present appealing zeolite synthesis targets.

The title compound 5-methyl-1,3-bis(3-nitrobenzyl)pyrimidine-2,4(1H,3H)-dione was obtained by reaction of thymine with 3-nitrobenzylbromide in the presence of cesium carbonate. Characterization of the product was achieved by NMR spectroscopy and its stability was probed in basic condition using UV-Visible analysis. Furthermore, the molecular structure was confirmed by X-ray diffraction analysis. The compound crystallizes in orthorhombic Pna21 space group with unit cell parameters a = 14.9594 (15) Å, b = 25.711 (3) Å, c = 4.5004 (4) Å, V = 1731.0 (3) Å3 and Z = 4. The crystal packing of the title compound is stabilized by intermolecular hydrogen bond, π···π and C−H···π stacking interactions. The intermolecular interactions were furthermore analyzed through the mapping of different Hirshfeld surfaces. The two-dimensional fingerprint revealed that the most important contributions to these surfaces come from O···H (37.1%), H···H (24%) and H···C/C···H (22.6%) interactions. The interaction energies stabilizing the crystal packing were calculated and were presented graphically as framework energy diagrams. Finally, the energy-framework analysis reveals that π···π and C−H···π interactions energies are mainly dispersive and are the most important forces in the crystal.

Energy Subsidy Reform is a key pillar of Colombia’s national development plan. Rising fiscal challenges in Colombia—which have been exacerbated by the adjustment costs associated with recent large migration flows from Venezuela—can risk derailing the government from their commitment to meet both its headline deficit target of 2.4 percent in 2019 and its structural deficit target by 2022, under the existing fiscal rule. The government is committed to embark on a reform strategy that aims at safeguarding the fiscal framework. Energy subsidy reform is one element of the government’s strategy to address fiscal pressures. It is also consistent with efforts to enhance spending efficiency and free up additional fiscal resources for development needs, in line with the recommendations made by the expert commission on spending.

Increase of mass production with the industrial revolution has increased the country's dependence on energy. Even today, energy constitutes the main weight of industrialization. Especially for countries dependent on energy from abroad, energy prices are very important, and fluctuations in energy prices are decisive for the economies of these countries. Fluctuations in energy prices make the future course of energy prices important for both energy demanding countries and energy-supplying countries. There are many methods in the related literature. Our estimate of energy prices for Turkey will be based on the Nash-Cournot framework. In the Nash-Cournot framework, energy is considered as a homogeneous commodity and market equilibrium is determined by the capacity-setting decisions of the suppliers. The model indicates that competitors aim to produce more by reacting to higher prices. A fundamental offer-based stochastic model is being put forward in order to predict the energy prices and the mean price in a given period. Two ambiguous sources are addressed, these are energy producers and demand. Studies have shown that the expected number of prices increases significantly with the decrease in the number of firms in the market. Within this framework, factors determining the energy prices in Turkey will be determined and forecasts for the future will be made.

This chapter first theorizes as if each system leader has been similar in terms of the resource foundations it has brought to the arena and what it has been able to do with those foundations. Earlier leaders were much weaker than later leaders. What accounts for the difference? Our answer is that system leaders have had variable claims to leads in commerce, technology, and energy. When they combined all three, they became very powerful. The chapter then addresses one of the central issues of Big History: the swinging of the socioeconomic, military, and political lead from western Eurasia to eastern Eurasia and back to western Eurasia and North America in what is sometimes referred to as the “Great Divergence.” This oscillation was put in motion by the discovery of agricultural techniques that gave the West a lead to innovate all sorts of things. Gradually the East caught up, until at one point Rome and Han China were roughly equal. After Rome declined and the Han Empire fragmented, China came back in the Sui–Tang–Song dynasty period, while western Europe remained fragmented. However, the medieval Chinese lead did not persist. Ultimately, the West was able to forge ahead by combining new energy sources and technology. Now, China may be catching up once again.

AbstractDiagnosing and curing neurodegenarative disorder such as spinocerebellar ataxia is complicated when there is differences in formation of protein sequences and structures. Affinity prediction plays vital role to identify drugs for various genetic disorders. Spinocerebellar ataxia occurs but mainly it occurs due to polyglutamine repeats. This research work aims in predicting the affinity of spinocerebellar ataxia from the protein complexes by extracting the well-defined descriptors. Regression models are built to predict the affinity through machine learning techniques coded in python using the Scikit-Learn framework. Energy complexes and protein sequence descriptors are defined and extracted from the complex and sequences. Results show that the SVR is found to predict the affinity with high accuracy of 98% for spinocerebellar ataxia. This paper also deliberates the results of statistical learning carried out with the same set of complexes with various regression techniques.
