Adequacy of Effective Born for electroweak effects and TauSpinner algorithms for high energy physics simulated samples

Matching and comparing the measurements of past and future experiments call for consistency checks of electroweak (EW) calculations used for their interpretation. On the other hand, new calculation schemes of the field theory can be beneficial for precision, even if they may obscure comparisons with earlier results. Over the years, concepts of Improved Born, Effective Born, as well as of effective couplings, in particular of $$\sin ^2\theta _W^{{\textit{eff}}}$$ sin 2 θ W eff mixing angle for EW interactions, have evolved. In our discussion, we use four versions of EW library for phenomenology of practically all HEP accelerator experiments over the last 30 years. We rely on the codes published and archived with the Monte Carlo program for $$e^+e^- \rightarrow f {\bar{f}} n(\gamma )$$ e + e - → f f ¯ n ( γ ) and available for the as well. re-weighs generated events for introduction of EW effects. To this end, is first invoked, and its results are stored in data file and later used. Documentation of upgrade, to version 2.1.0, and that of its new arrangement for semi-automated benchmark plots are provided. In our paper, focus is placed on the numerical results, on the different approximations introduced in Improved Born to obtain Effective Born, which is simpler for applications of strong or QED processes in pp or $$e^+e^-$$ e + e - colliders. The $$\tau $$ τ lepton polarization $$P_{\tau }$$ P τ , forward–backward asymmetry $$A_{{\textit{FB}}}$$ A FB and parton-level total cross section $$\sigma ^{{\textit{tot}}}$$ σ tot are used to monitor the size of EW effects and effective $$\sin ^2\theta _W^{{\textit{eff}}}$$ sin 2 θ W eff picture limitations for precision physics. Collected results include: (i) Effective Born approximations and $$\sin ^2\theta _W^{{\textit{eff}}}$$ sin 2 θ W eff , (ii) differences between versions of EW libraries and (iii) parametric uncertainties due to, for example, $$m_t$$ m t or $$\Delta \alpha _h^{(5)}(s)$$ Δ α h ( 5 ) ( s ) . These results can be considered as benchmarks and also allow to evaluate the adequacy of Effective Born with respect to Improved Born. Definitions are addressed too.

Charged Higgs contribution on Bc → (Ds, Ds*) l+l−

In this paper, we study rare semileptonic decays of the $B_c$ meson in the context of type-I, II, and III two Higgs doublet models. We follow the relativistic quark model for parameterizing the form factors used in matrix elements of weak transitions between the corresponding meson states. We investigate observables such as branching ratio, lepton polarization asymmetry, forward–backward asymmetry, etc. and analyze the dependence of these quantities on the model parameters. We have found that there is noticeable sensitivity to these observables for the charged Higgs boson, which may provide a powerful probe to the standard model and new physics beyond it.

331-Z′ mediated FCNC effects on b → dμ+μ− transitions

We study the rare semileptonic [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] decay modes mediated by the quark level [Formula: see text] transition in this paper. We analyze observables such as the differential branching ratio, lepton polarization asymmetry and forward–backward asymmetry within the standard model in the large hadronic recoil region. We then analyze these observables within the 331 or [Formula: see text] model in which a new heavy [Formula: see text] boson contributes. The effects of the [Formula: see text]-mediated flavor changing neutral current (FCNC) transitions on these modes are examined by varying the mass [Formula: see text] and the model parameter [Formula: see text]. The new [Formula: see text] couplings are constrained by flavor observables of [Formula: see text] mixing. For the obtained parameter space, we observe [Formula: see text] sensitivities of our observables of interest and deviations from standard model can range from moderate to large depending on the [Formula: see text] value.

Investigating the 331-Z′ mediated FCNC effects on b → sμ+μ− transitions

The new [Formula: see text] couplings are constrained by flavor observables of [Formula: see text] mixing and branching ratio of [Formula: see text]. We find that for some values of these couplings, the observables are quite sensitive to [Formula: see text] effects and deviations from Standard Model can be large.

Study of B̄s → ϕμ+μ− decays in the G(211) model and vector leptoquark model

We study [Formula: see text] decay in the [Formula: see text] model and vector leptoquark model, respectively. We consider the effects of these two new physics (NP) models on some measured physical observables of this decay process, such as the differential branching fraction and the angular distributions. We find that the large deviation of the differential branching fraction between the measurement and the Standard Model (SM) prediction can be explained in these two NP models. However, we found that not all observables of the double-lepton polarization asymmetries are sensitive to the contributions of these NP models.
