Mechanization Means for Tillage in Melon Growing

A comparative analysis of existing technologies for the cultivation of melons and gourds, which made it possible to identify their advantages and disadvantages, has been carried out. As a tool for the primary cultivation, a frontal plow is proposed, which is designed for smooth plowing and ensuring the rotation of the soil layer directly in its own furrow.

Nucleotide, ribonucleotide and ribonucleoside binding belongs to differentially expressed genes in porcine epithelial oviductal cells during longterm primary cultivation

The oviduct play a crucial role in reproductive process, through facilitating successful embryo growth and conception. Oviduct activity is orchestrated by various factors, depending on cyclic dynamics, which crucially affect the success of reproductive function. The morphological modifications of oviducts in response to the female reproductive cycle are well established. However, detailed characterization at the molecular level is still needed. The present study, employed primary in vitro cell cultures and high-throughput transcriptome analysis via an Affymetrix microarray approach, described nucleotide, ribonucleotide and ribonucleoside binding patterns at a molecular level in oviduct epithelial cells (OECs). 222 genes were targeted belonging to four gene ontology biological process terms (GO BP): “adenyl nucleotide binding”, “adenyl ribonucleotide binding”, “ribonucleotide binding”, “ribonucleoside binding”, which showed the greatest variability in the level of mRNA expression during of long-term cultivation. In this group of genes, special attention was paid to those showing the greatest variability in relation to the reference measurement, including OASL, PIM1, ACTA2 and ABCA1.Running title: Oviductal nucleotide and nucleoside binding patterns

Influence of Tillage Depth and Plough Speed on Performance of Primary Tillage Tools

In India near about 60% population is engaged in agriculture. Soil loosening is a primary method of cultivation before seeding. There are number of tillage tools used for primary cultivation i.e. cultivators, rotary tillers, moldboard plough and chisel plough, rotavators etc. During soil cultivation wear occurs due to interaction of tillage implement and soil particles, which in turn decreases tillage quality and increase draft forces and fuel consumption of tractor. Tool wear reduces farmer’s efficiency, costing millions of dollars per year to Nation’s economy. Knowledge of tillage depth and ploughing speed save the tillage time and improves tractor efficiency. In this study it is attempted to relate the influence of tillage depth and tractor speed on primary tillage tools.

Functional properties of blade tiller working tools

After the harvest of winter wheat, the tensile force, cross section of loosened soil and specific resistance of soil were measured on a loamy soil plot. During the comparative measurements, 3 blades were used with chisel width of 20 mm, 40 mm and 75 mm. In case of all blades, the measurements were carried out at the depth of 100, 200 and 300 mm. In the course of measurements, the standards of blades were attached in a measuring frame on six-component hinge with connected tensometric sensor. The selected blades were developed for a new type of tiller destined for primary cultivation of soil. Moreover, in case of a blade equipped by chisel there were used side wings of a width of 110, 150 and 200 mm for tillage into a depth of 100 mm. It was found that the width of blade chisels did not have a statistically significant effect on the values of specific resistance of soil during the soil tillage. At all widths of blade chisels, a trend of an increase in specific resistance of soil was recorded at growing recess into the soil.
