The Theory and Practice of Evaluating Green Factories in China

It is well acknowledged that, China is a country with copious manufacturing industries, and Chinese industrial products spread all over the world. Research into the theory and practice of evaluating manufacturing factories in China is of highly significant. However, the traditional method of evaluating factories tends to focus on individual aspects such as efficiency, energy conservation, and environmental protections. There have been relatively few reports covering comprehensive evaluation methods for a systematic green factory. Based on an analysis of the current situation in various countries and regions, the concept and scope of the China Green Factory (CGF) have been defined. The characteristics of a CGF include the intensification of land, the decontamination of raw materials, clean production, waste administration, and the reduction of carbon and energy. The objectives of this paper are to highlight the current policy and research on the CGFs, quantify the positive effects of CGFs, and make some suggestions for future development.

The author proposed the project named Asia Food Project attached with Asia Techno Farm Initiative, practical OJT (On the Job Training) program to achieve the final goal of making Asia as the world food pantry and to create the original Asia food brand. In this paper the importance of applying high technology based smart agriculture consisting of mainly precision agriculture, robotics and green factory is discussed as the important program content including the achievement process how to follow the steps of proposed procedure,.

A Comparison of Indicators for Self-Sufficient Energy Systems

Industry is one of the major energy consumers in Germany. In order to fulfil the social responsibility of the energy revolution, companies required to install and to use their own renewable energy. With the increasing set-up of renewable energy systems at the production site, these companies are interested in consuming most of the energy directly on-site. Based on a material flow simulation of the Green Factory Bavaria in Augsburg, this paper compares different indicators for the energy self-sufficiency. Finally the effect of electrical energy storage to increase the energy self-sufficiency is examined.

Cummins Generator Technologies India Limited: Building India's First Green Factory

Cummins Generator Technologies India Limited (CGTIL) was in the process of setting up a world-class factory at Ranjangaon based on “lean” production principles. The project team, however, went a step ahead and married “green” with “lean”. While lean is about taking the system inefficiencies out, the green is about harmony with nature. Der Einsatz von Schmierstoffen gestattet bisher die Umformung von Massivbauteilen. In der „Green Factory“ wird auf die Verwendung dieser Schmierstoffe verzichtet. Daraus resultieren unbekannte Anforderungen an das trockene Tribosystem. Selbstschmierende Werkzeugbeschichtung und strukturierte Halbzeuge ermöglichen das trockene Tribosystem und reduzieren die Reibschubspannung. Der Fachbeitrag zeigt die Auswirkungen von Oberflächenstrukturen auf Halbzeugen auf die Reibschubspannung.   Solid and liquid lubricants enable bulk metal forming processes. In the “Green Factory”, the application of lubricants is to be avoided. The absence of lubricants results in unknown demands on a dry tribosystem. Possible enablers of the dry tribosystem are self-lubricating tool coatings and structured workpieces that lower the friction shear stresses. This contribution shows how the workpiece structuring influences the friction shear stress.
