The two-week use of special breathing exercises in combination with the Cortexin peptide bioregulator optimizes the functional state and increases the professional performance of older teachers more effectively compared to the single use of a pharmacological preparation. The maximum effect is noted immediately after the end of the course use of special breathing exercises and the peptide bioregulator and lasts for two months. The results obtained open up prospects for the use of breathing exercises to enhance and prolong the nootropic drugs and antihypoxants antistress and geroprotective effects.

They are given data of physiological action of vitamin A in different doses (in the form of its supplement - the pharmacological preparation “Microvit”) when introduced into diets with dry pulp on the digestibility of the main nutrients of fodder by bull-calves in the middle of the feeding cycle. The optimal dose of vitamin A was established. It is 230 IU per 1 head per day, which is 20% more than the recommended norm calculated for carotene. In this case, the digestibility of dry matter significantly increases by 3.3%, of organic one - by 2.7%, protein - by 3.0%, fiber - by 3.2%. There was also a slight tendency towards an increase in the digestibility of fat and nitrogen-free extractive substances by 1.8 and 3.0%, respectively.

Background: A gas chromatography and mass spectrometry (GC/MS) procedure was developed and validated for the evaluation and quantification of pregabalin (PGN) in pharmaceutical preparations.

Introduction: Pregabalin is a γ-amino-n-butyric acid derivative used as an antiepileptic drug for the management of fibromyalgia, and has analgesic, anxiolytic, and anticonvulsant activities. Few studies have been reported on the determination of PGN content in pharmaceutical preparations involving gas chromatography - mass spectroscopy. Methods: Pregabalin was extracted with MSTFA/NH4F/β- mercapto-ethanol at 60°C for 30 min. The acquired derived molecule of pregabalin was identified by specific ion monitoring mode applying the analytical ions m/z 232 and 331. Propranolol was used as Internal Standard (IS). The following validation parameters were taken into consideration: precision, linearity, accuracy, stability, specificity, robustness, ruggedness, Limit Of Detection (LOD) and Limit Of Quantitation (LOQ). Results: The method was selective, precise, sensitive, linear and specific. The linearity of the method was between 3.5 and 300 ng/ml. The precise values were ≤ 3.62% of both intra- and interday validation. The LOD accurate values for Intraday and interday validation were in the range of -0. 25 -2.05%. While LOQ accurate values for intraday and interday were 1.5x10-6 and 3.5 x10-6mg/ml, respectively. Conclusion: Therefore, the developed GC-MS method was effectively implemented to identify PGN in a pharmacological preparation.

The histopathological structure as well as content and distribution of mucosubstances in the mid-gut mucosa of the honeybee (Apis mellifera) treated with the phyto-pharmacological preparation Nozevit was studied. For the purpose of describing neutral, acid and sulphate mucopolysaccharides we used the Periodic Acid-Schiff Reaction (PAS), Alcian blue-specific (pH = 1.0 and 2.5) and Toluidine blue-specific staining. Based on our results we have concluded that the herbal preparation Nozevit induces the production and secretion of mucous from the epithelial layer of treated bees, and additionally coats the peritrophic membrane to form a firm and resilient envelope. Thus, the preparation may ensure protection from new invasion with Nosema sp. spores and also from normal physiological processes.

AbstractThe European wolf spider, Lycosa tarentula, said to have caused the historical phenomenon of ‘tarantism’, is the official medicinal source of the homeopathic remedy Tarentula hispanica. Yet, scientific evidence links the spider's venomous effects with mild necrotic and minor systemic effects that contrast with the proving symptoms of Tarentula hispanica which show a cerebral and neural component. A comparative investigation by use of toxicological, clinical findings, supported by modern and antique biological texts, as well as homeopathic materia medica, traces the source of the remedy Tarentula hispanica to the Mediterranean widow spider Latrodectus tredecimguttatus, thus warranting a re-evaluation of pharmacological preparation.
