Industry-Oriented Method for Dynamic Force Identification in Peripheral Milling Based on FSC-LSQR Using Acceleration Signals

Online measurement of milling force play a vital role in enabling machining process monitoring and control. In practice, the milling force is difficult to be measured directly with the dynamometer. This paper develops a novel method for milling force identification called least square QR-factorization with fast stopping criterion (FSC-LSQR) method, and the queue buffer structure (QBS) is employed for the online identification of milling force using acceleration signals. The convolution integral of milling force and acceleration signals is discretized, which turns the problem of milling force identification into a linear discrete ill-posed problem. The FSC-LSQR algorithm is adopted for milling force identification because of its high efficiency and accuracy, which handles the linear discrete ill-posed problem effectively. The online identification of milling force can be realized using the acceleration signal enqueue and the milling force dequeue operations of the QBS. Finally, the effectiveness of the method is verified by experiments. The experimental results show that the FSC-LSQR algorithm running time is within \((0.05s)\) and the calculation error is less than \((10\%)\). The proposed method can make the sampling frequency of the milling force reach 10240Hz by employing QBS, which satisfy the industry requirements of milling force measurement.

Fuzzy modeling and prediction of combustion layers′ temperature for power plant

This paper develops a fuzzy modeling strategy to study the temperature of different combustion layers in a power plant. First, a new infrared temperature measurement system is developed to measure three layers (bottom, middle and upper) temperature on both sides of the boiler. Then, a fuzzy clustering modeling algorithm is designed based on entropy to determine the structure of the fuzzy model and the corresponding fuzzy memberships of local models. The effect of modeling mismatches are overcome by the use of online identification of parameters. Simulation results show that the effectiveness of the proposed method can be achieved for a 660 MW power plant.

A survey on server-based electronic identification and signature schemes to improve eIDAS: with a new proposal for Turkey

The design, development, and implementation of e-Government applications aim to improve the quality of daily life and facilitate the mobility of citizens by reducing the constraints imposed by existing borders. This study examines previous research in the literature on electronic identification (eID) credentials technologies and the projects carried out in Europe. This study focuses especially on server-based e-signing methods. In the light of these reviews, the applicability of a server-based mobile electronic signature model without disrupting local initiatives has been examined as a case study. As an exemplary case, Turkey’s eID structure is examined from a technical and legal perspective. When creating the proposed server-based eID model, it was especially inspired by Austria’s server-based approach in use. In this process, the suitability of the existing structure with the server-based e-signing method was examined. In addition, some suggestions were made to eliminate the problems that may prevent the use of the proposed server-based e-signing method. This study revealed that a server-based electronic signature approach would develop a more user-friendly and flexible solution in identity management. It was concluded that using a server-based signature approach would help achieve international standards for cross-border online identification methods.
