The article discusses the patterns of expressing the concept "thick" in two typologically and genetically unrelated languages - Buryat and Chinese. The research of different concepts manifestation in unrelated languages has recently become widespread, and the comparative study of Buryat and Chinese in this regard is conducted for the first time. Translation dictionaries and electronic corpora of the languages were taken as sources for the material from which the necessary tokens were selected using continuous sampling method. To interpret the obtained examples in various contexts, we applied a general scientific method and comparative analysis techniques. As a result, it was discovered that despite the difference in the genesis and typology of Buryat and Chinese, common patterns in the concept expression were found. The common pattern is the differentiation by "topological type", which dictates the use of synonymous words to denote the thickness of objects with different geometric parameters. According to the topological parameter, the objects can be classified as relatively flat (zuzaan, Chinese 厚 hou) or relatively cylindrical (buduun and粗 si), and this can also be applied to the parameters of the human body. Another common feature is the expression of human fatness (fat) in correlation with domestic animals’ fatness degree: targan and 肥 fei. In this context, the definition of fatness has negative connotation.

Abstract We derive complexity estimates for two classes of deterministic networks: the Boolean networks S(Bn, m), which compute the Boolean vector-functions Bn, m, and the classes of graphs $G(V_{P_{m,\,l}}, E)$ G ( V P m , l , E ) , with overlapping communities and high density. The latter objects are well suited for the synthesis of resilience networks. For the Boolean vector-functions, we propose a synthesis of networks on a NOT, AND, and OR logical basis and unreliable channels such that the computation of any Boolean vector-function is carried out with polynomial information cost. All vertexes of the graphs $G(V_{P_{m,\,l}}, E)$ G ( V P m , l , E ) are labeled by the trinomial (m2±l,m)-partitions from the set of partitions Pm, l. It turns out that such labeling makes it possible to create networks of optimal algorithmic complexity with highly predictable parameters. Numerical simulations of simple graphs for trinomial (m2±l,m)-partition families (m=3,4,…,9) allow for the exact estimation of all commonly known topological parameters for the graphs. In addition, a new topological parameter—overlapping index—is proposed. The estimation of this index offers an explanation for the maximal density value for the clique graphs $G(V_{P_{m,\,l}}, E)$ G ( V P m , l , E ) .

High entropy alloys (HEA’s) have found a very special place in aerospace industries due to their property of forming solid solution. In past literatures on high entropy alloys, it is established that parameters like atomic size difference (), topological parameter (Ω) and electro-negativity difference (∆) plays a vital role in deciding whether solid solution will be formed or not. Therefore, the present study deals with the selection of optimal high entropy composition based on the three parameters δ, Ω and with the help of TOPSIS (Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution). Ranking is done for 38 HEA different compositions such that the first rank represents the HEA which is most likely to form solid solution. The study reveals that TOPSIS method can be successfully implemented to predict the formation of solid solution in HEA’s.

AbstractInter-module connectivity, which tend to connect different communities and maintain network architectural integrity, is contributing to functional coordination and information flow between modules in perturbations. Detecting the strength of inter-module connection is essential to characterize the reactive bio-systematical variation. A quantitative evaluation method for inter-module connections is needed. Here, based on the high-throughput microarray data from mouse, an evaluation approach (named as IMCC) for inter-module connectivity was developed. The IMCC model, which is an integration of direct and indirect inter-module connections, successfully excluded inter-module connections without statistical significance or below the cutoff value, and provided a more comprehensive landscape of inter-module relationships. We showed that the IMCC method reflected a more precise functional coordination between modules according to KEGG database, were validated by topological parameter. Application of IMCC in genome-scale stroke networks deciphered characteristic pathological “core-periphery” structure of modular map and functional coordination module pair.Author summeryInter-module connectivity, which tend to connect different communities and maintain network architectural integrity, is contributing to functional coordination and information flow between modules in perturbations. Moreover, modular rearrangements provide more efficient ways for phenotype alteration, inter-module connections have been considered to be ‘‘evolutionary interaction switches”. Such modular map rewiring can be used as a network biomarker to characterize the dynamics of drug responses. Detecting the strength of inter-module connection is essential to characterize the reactive bio-systematical variation response to disease or drug. We aim to construct a quantitative evaluation method for inter-module connections. Thus, this study has implications in systematical exploration detailed variation of inter-module pharmacological action mode of drugs.

In this paper, it is shown that the Hamiltonian of the open spin-1 XXZ chain model can be constructed from the generators of the Birman–Murakami–Wenzl (B–M–W) algebra. Without the topological parameter d (describing the unknotted loop [Formula: see text] in topology) reducing to a fixed value, the topological basis states can be connected with the open XXZ spin chain. Then some particular properties of the topological basis states in this system have been investigated. We find that the topological basis states are the three eigenstates of a four-spin-1 XXZ chain model without boundary term. Specifically, all the spin single states of the system fall on the topological basis subspace. And the number of the spin single states of the system is equal to that of the topological basis states.

We investigate quantum discord of the "q-deformed" Werner state via Yang–Baxterization approach. There are two parameters q and u in this "q-deformed" Werner state. The parameter u, which plays an important role in some typical models, is related to the probability of the "q-deformed" two-qubit spin singlet state in this study. The "q-deformed" parameter q is related to the single loop through d = q + q-1. When topological parameter d approaches 2 (i.e. q → 1), the "q-deformed" Werner state degenerates into the well-known Werner state. The results show that topological parameter d has great influence on quantum correlations of the "q-deformed" Werner state. When we fix the parameter u, the quantum correlations decrease with increasing the single loop d. When d approaches +∞ (i.e. q → 0+ or +∞), quantum discord, geometric measure of quantum discord and entanglement all tend to 0. While d approaches 2 (i.e. q → 1), all of them just have the same results with the Werner state.

We find a new general black hole solution in the braneworld scenario, considering a modified 5-dimensionalfℛaction in the bulk. We study the horizon structure and find the possibility of two, one, or no horizon depending on the value of the topological parameterβ. On the thermodynamics side, we show that the value of the topological parameter determines the black hole temperature to have a divergent behaviour at small scales or to present a maximum value before cooling down towards a zero temperature remnant.
