The paper describes the fundamental issues of deformation monitoring systems and instrumental methods for measuring the stress-strain state of the rock massif based on the use of three-component strain sensors developed by specialists from the University of Mines and Avangard OJSC. One of the main tasks of the developed systems is the prediction and prevention of possible dynamic manifestations of rock pressure in rockburst-hazardous deposits.

An external three component strain gauge balance, designed, analyzed and manufactured in the Military Technical Academy is presented. The balance is a multi-piece type and employs the use of six custom-made load cells (sensors) to transfer the aerodynamic forces and moments from the wing to the computer software environment for data processing and analysis. The relations between the loads acting on the wing model and the measured forces are also underlined. The placement of the strain gauge on the composite laminate is an important issue for increased sensor precision; therefore, it is given a thorough analysis. The positioning of the force vector and its influence on the strain distribution over the lift sensor is also numerically and experimentally analyzed.

In order to develop the design techniques for the hypersonic aerodynamic testing model with duct system of internal flow and external flow decoupling, this research used a circular cross section air-breathing hypersonic cruise vehicle model, explored the model design technique for internal flow and external flow separated from each other, the design technique and the seal technique for the clearance between the internal flow part and the external flow part, the design technique of ring type six-component strain-gauge balance and so on. A wind tunnel test was conducted at mach 6. The results of the test indicate that, the design of the internal flow and external flow decoupling test system is successful to get credible test data. It have been mastered that the key techniques for the test system design of internal flow and external flow decoupling.
