Technologies for the Production of Machine-Building Composite Polymer Materials and Coatings Working in Contact With Raw Cotton

Based on numerous analyses of the research results, a technology was developed for obtaining the developed composite thermosetting polymer coatings based on thermosetting polymers-epoxy oligomers ED-20, FAED-20 and FEIS-30 plasticizer, dibutyl phthalate, polyethylene polyamine hardener and industrial waste and organomineral ingredients, as well as a technology for applying antifriction-strength composite polymer coatings for machine-building purposes on metal surfaces of products of various machines and mechanisms.

Adsorption of cadmium ions from simulated battery waste water by polyethylene polyamine modified activated carbon

The objective of this work was to study the treatment of waste water containing cadmium ions (Cd2+). Activated carbon (AC) was modified with potassium hydroxide (KOH) and polyethylene polyamine (PEPA). The structure and morphology of the modified AC was characterized. The effect of pH on adsorption was investigated, and the binary competitive adsorption and the reusability of the modified AC were studied. Subsequently the modified AC was used as an adsorbent for the removal of Cd2+ from wastewater. The adsorption capacity of optimized modified AC was 9.7 times that of unmodified AC. Kinetic adsorption curves were in accordance with pseudo-second-order kinetics, and the isothermal curves were in accordance with the Langmuir equation. The results indicate that the AC has a potential in the treatment of the waste water containing Cd2+ discharged from chemical plants during battery manufacturing.

PREPARATION OF COMPOSITIONS OF OXYETHYLATED NONYLPHENOL WITH ALKYLIMIDAZOLES AND STUDY OF THEIR ACTION AGAINST SULFATE-REDUCING BACTERIA

The article discusses the bactericidal effect of compositions of alkylimidazole and oxyethylated para-nonylphenol in various proportions obtained by the interaction of polyethylenepolyamine in a nitrogen medium with various concentrations against sulfate-reducing bacteria. Alkylimidazole was obtained on a pilot plant with a capacity of 500 kg/day, built at the research and production enterprise "Tural 110" in Sumgait. Alkylimidazole (AIM) is derived from the interaction of natural petroleum acid (NPA) with polyethylene polyamine (PEPA). The effect of ONP and AIM compositions prepared in mass ratios of 95:5; 90:10 and 50:50 on the incubation period of SRB for 15 days was studied as follows. Reagent-free and reagent media were used for comparison. 1 ml of the bacterial medium was diluted with sterile water and simultaneously transplanted into a Posgate B nutrient medium in 10 ml test tubes in a 1:9 ratio and kept in a thermostat at 30-35°C for 15 days to determine the number of bacteria growing in the medium. As a result, the number of bacteria in the non-inhibitory medium taken under microscopic control was n=108 the number of cells/ml and in the inhibitory medium at a concentration of 50 mg/l in all three samples (AIM:ONP = 5:95; 10:90 and 50:50 in mass ratios) the number was defined as n=101 cells/ml and at a concentration of 250 mg/l AIM:ONP = 10:90 and AIM:ONP = 50:50, the mass ratios fell from 108 to 0, which completely stopped the life of bacteria. Influence of Initiators on the Adhesion Properties of Bitumen Modified by Natural Origin Epoxide

The article is presenting a modification of bituminous binder with ecological epoxidized rapeseed oil (BERO) in the presence of the initiator (hardener). Adipic acid (AA), maleic anhydride (MA) and polyethylene polyamine (PEPA) were used as the initiators. The effect of modification temperature and, as well as initiator nature, on the bitumen properties was determined. Bitumen modified with BERO was evaluated by the following indicators: softening temperature, penetration, ductility, and adhesion to the glass. The optimal initiator : rapeseed oil epoxide (ERO) : bitumen ratio was found to be 0.15:3:100; it allows obtaining bitumen with improved properties, in particular, adhesive properties increase by 2‒3 times depending on the nature and content of the initiator. To improve the formula composite and evaluation of asphalt mixtures the additional researches will be conducted.

CATALYTIC OXIDATION OF OXYGEN CONTAINING ALIPHATIC HYDROCARBONS IN THE PRESENCE OF METALPOLYMER COMPLEXES

The reactions of liquid-phase oxidation of aliphatic oxygen containing hydrocarbons, in particular, nonanol-4 and nonanon-4 in the presence of polyethylene-polyamine complexes (PEPA) with sorbated ions of metals with changeable valency (Co2+,Cu2+, Ni2+) were studied. It revealed that the oxidation of nonanole-4 and nonanone-4 in the presence of Cu2+ and Ni2+ ions in the analyzed system is less active while in the presence of Co2+ ions decarboxylation of acids it is practically absent and it leads mainly to formation of carbonic acids. It has been established that the character of oxidation reaction mostly depends on the properties of metals fixed on polymer matrix.

Epoxy Composites Filled with Natural Calcium Carbonate. 3. Epoxy Composites Obtained in the Presence of Monocarboxylic Derivative of Epidian-6 Epoxy Resin

A monocarboxylic derivative of Epidian-6 with free epoxy and carboxylic end groups (MCDER) has been synthesized using Epidian-6 epoxy resin and sebacic acid. The structure of MCDER was confirmed by a spectral analysis. The thermal stability of MCDER has been established and the formation of cross-linked films based on epoxy-oligomeric mixtures consisting of Epidian-5, TGM-3 oligoesteracrylate, and polyethylene polyamine has been studied in its presence. By means of IR spectroscopy, the chemistry of the mixtures formation has been established. Physico-mechanical characteristics and morphology of the epoxy-oligomeric mixture based samples which were filled with CaCO3 have been determined.

INFLUENCE OF MODIFIED EPOXY RESIN ON PHYSICAL AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF EPOXY COMPOSITE

The main physical-mechanical and thermophysical characteristics of composite materials based on epoxy resin ED-20 and peroxide resin ED-20P (modified with tert-butyl hydroperoxide ED-20 of a molecular weight 480) in the ratio of 30 mass parts of ED-20P to 70 mass parts of ED- 20 and unsaturated oligoester TGM-3 were researched. Butyl methacrylate was used as the active diluent of epoxy-oligoester mixtures. The polyethylene polyamine was used as hardener in a steochemical ratio. For the comparison we studied compositions which did not contain ED-20P resin. The advantage of compositions included ED-20P modified resin has been shown.
