A peptoid trimer incorporating picolyl 2,2′:6′,2′′-terpyridine can selectively bind Zn2+ ions in the presence of excess Cu2+ ions and other metal ions, in water and in simulated body fluid (SBF) and can remove Zn2+ from a natural zinc protein in SBF.
