PENGENALAN UNIT PENANGGULANGAN KEADAAN DARURAT DI BANDARA BAGI SISWA SMK PENERBANGAN DI WILAYAH LAMPUNG DAN SIDOARJO

PKP-PK unit is an emergency response unit at the airport whose location is within the air-side area that not everyone can enter. The community around the airport and many vocational aviation students have not received comprehensive information related to this PKP-PK Unit. This Unit has a vital role, especially at the time of the accident at the airport. Community Service Activities (PKM) is one of the activities of Tridharma Higher Education that the academic community must carry out at the Polytechnic of Aviation Indonesia Curug. Because it is still in the pandemic condition, Covid-19 PKM activity is done through Webinar with Zoom. This webinar activity was attended by Vocational Aviation Students in Lampung and Sidoarjo regions in collaboration with Karang Taruna Sedati Gede Sidoarjo village, East Java. After this activity is completed, it is expected that it will increase the knowledge and insight of the students of SmK Flight regarding emergency management units at the airport.

A Study on Civil Aviation Students' Evaluation of their Internship Experiences

Civil aviation is considered as a dynamic and continuously developing sector that requires highly qualified personnel due to its nature. It is critical for the students studying in this field to receive hands-on training as well as theoretical training in universities. Internship is one of the most important tools to meet this need for practical training and to increase the sectoral knowledge and experience of civil aviation students. In this respect, it plays a critical role both in terms of sector representatives' assessment of their potential employees and students' assessment of their future professional field of work. The aim of this study is to evaluate the internship experiences of the students studying in the aviation field, by focusing on the headings of "personal evaluation, internship experience, working environment, and relationship with university". The research was conducted on site at the higher education institutions offering civil aviation education in Turkey by administering a questionnaire to a total of 229 students studying in 5 different aviation departments at 19 universities, and the research hypotheses were tested in this way. A positive and significant correlation was found for 4 of the 5 hypotheses proposed in the study. Overall, the internship satisfaction level of the trainee students who participated in the research was found to be high; however, some key factors were identified to be worthy of consideration to improve the internship experience.

More than Chalkboards: Classroom Spaces and Collaborative Learning Attitudes

The well-known benefits of collaborative learning have prompted the development of active learning classrooms that are designed to facilitate peer interaction. Given the expense of designing active learning classrooms, examining student perceptions of these learning spaces is critical. Furthermore, it is not well understood how the type of classroom (active learning or traditional lecture) relates to students’ perceptions of collaborative learning. In this study, aviation students (N = 46) were enrolled in the same course taught in the same active-learning manner by the same professor with one section taught in an active-learning classroom and one taught in a traditional lecture classroom. Results indicated that students perceived the active-learning classroom as much better suited to collaborative learning than the traditional lecture classroom. In addition, students in the active-learning classroom reported higher-levels of perceived value of collaborative learning, both in terms of enjoyment and usefulness, than did students in the traditional lecture classroom. Implications for designing learning environments and promoting the value of active learning to students are discussed.
