The College Library was established to support academic needs both for the internal public and the external public of the college itself. However, the development of communication technology has made the interest in reading students in college libraries decrease. Therefore college libraries must implement the right strategies to increase students' reading interest in the library. Through this study, researchers found the influence of marketing communication strategies carried out by lecturers (variable x) on students' reading interest (variable y) by 72%. This shows that lecturers should also provide socialization and direction to students related to the importance of reading reference sources from campus libraries by telling interesting things so that students' reading interest in college libraries increases librarians in college libraries can make lecturers as co-workers in carrying out lecturer marketing communication strategies considering are individuals whose daily life is more  interact with students so that lecturers have an important role in carrying out library marketing communication to students.

Reference Service enables libraries to provide information to a person who needs it, either directly from an appropriate source, or indirectly by providing the person with the source or teaching him how to find the needed information in the sources. With new technologies, users' information seeking behaviour (ISB) along with their expectations from the reference service has witnessed a sea change, which motivate the Librarians to embrace the Internet as an appropriate medium for information exchange, communication, and instruction, including both synchronous and asynchronous tools and played a pivotal role in transforming the in-person desk-based TRS to VRS. Libraries in India by-and-large have implemented ILMS (e.g. RFID) for their automation but the status of VRS adoption in the Indian context is scarce barring a few cases wherein libraries are providing reference service through email or web-form (asynchronous). Thus, in the light of the above facts the present study has been planned by the researcher as a meaningful understanding and deliberate investigation pertaining to the domain of VRS. The study result reveals that although, VRS was not being offered by almost all of the libraries and Synchronous VRS (SVRS) was offered by none of the libraries under the study. It is clear from the result that the college libraries of NorthWestern India cater to the need of a heterogeneous user community as the institutions belonging to a wide variety of disciplines, enables the researcher to capture a wide range of perspectives relating to the status of VRS. Again from the study we can infer that the libraries were having basic ICT infrastructure thus making a case for implementing VRS without significant expenditure, which can resolve the shortage of sufficient staff of the libraries in near future.

Information is a vital and indispensable component of any education system. College libraries  and internet facilities are the two information retrieval sources for academic works. This study   aims to identify the preferable option (internet facilities vs library) for students for academic purposes. This cross-sectional questionnaire-based study recruited faculties, non-faculty staff, and students of Gedu College of Business Studies. The questionnaire was self-administered  and responses were collected. Descriptive test was used for statistical analysis. The responses of 181 participants (male 53.6%; female 46.4%) were used for analysis (response rate 95.2%). Participants responded that internet was more easily accessible (74.1% vs 24.9%), more frequently used (78.5% vs 21.5%), for academic purpose (74.1% vs 24.9%), and holds more value in life of learners (60.7% vs 39.3%). Participants remain divided on the reliability of the source of information (internet 53.6 % vs library 46.4). However, the library was considered  the cheaper (72.9% vs 27.1%) source of information. While 96.1 % of respondentsuse both sources, most (71.3%) participants feel that college should focus on developing internet facilities. Both libraries and the internet are used for academic purposes in college.  However, there is a greater need to prioritize and invest in internet facilities for future educational needs.
