This study aims to examine the relationship between the reputation of sports team perceived by university students and their psychological commitment to their teams and to determine whether these two variables differ according to variables such as gender, age, department of university, the status of membership to a fan union, and the team the students supported. This is a quantitative study utilizing descriptive scanning model. The population of the study consists of students studying in universities on the European Side of Istanbul, and the sample consists of 219 students contacted by the random selection method. The study applied personal information form prepared by the researcher, the Spectator-Based Sports Team Reputation Scale (SSTR), which was developed by Wonseok et al. (2015) and the Fan Psychological Commitment Scale (FPCS), which was developed by Matsuoka (2001) in order to collect data in the study. SPSS 20.0 software package was used for data analysis. The collected data were examined with Kolmogorov-Smirnov and distribution graphs in terms of normal distribution in addition to descriptive statistics. Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal-Wallis tests were used to compare the data based on the number of variables. Post-hoc analyses were conducted by Mann-Whitney U test using Bonferroni correction and relationships between variables by Spearman’s correlation analysis. The prediction of the FPCS score by SSTR score was evaluated through linear regression analysis. The error margin was accepted as p < 0.05. A positive significant relationship was found between FPCS and SSTR variables perceived by university students according to the research results (p < 0.05). The results have strategic implications for managers who can evaluate the team reputation and the psychological commitment of the fan to the team in this context and encourage this for more fan participation.

In this study, the role of psychological commitment to the team and fanaticism on aggression were examined. In the research, personal information form, psychological commitment to the team scale, fanaticism scale for football fans, and aggression inventory were applied to the participants. This study was conducted with 336 volunteer participants between the ages of 18-60. The independent groups t-test and Spearman Rho correlation coefficient were used in data analysis. As a result of the research, it was found that as the psychological commitment to the team and fanaticism levels increase, the aggression level increases. In addition, it is seen that the aggression levels of male participants are higher than female participants. It is thought that the research findings will contribute to the development of policies to be created to prevent aggression in sports.

Nature Sports is one of the fastest growing sectors in active tourism area, with many types of activities. In this sense, it is important to investigate the way that specialized companies in the area provide their activities, trying to identify the parameters and constraints that determine the quality, proposing improvements in processes and procedures (Bento, 2017; Mediavilla et al., 2014). In this context, it ́s necessary a qualification in the technicians and guides as well as a physical and psychological commitment, on the part of the final customer. The identification of the parameters of the activities promoted by specialized companies, make current and pertinent, more investigations in an increasingly and important sector. This article aims to characterize the implementation of three active tourism activities, divided by area / environment of intervention (land, water and air) according to Serra (2009), adapting standards, technical and safety procedures, taking into account the evolution of the current outbreak resulting from the COVID- 19 pandemic, declared by the World Health Organization (WHO), in March 2020. The safety and hygiene procedures implemented by companies, resulting from the pandemic COVID-19, should be perpetuated in time, where opportunities will arise to reflect and rethink tourism and Nature Sport activities.

Continuing my previous reference to Alise Panitch's argument that estoppel would be a useful tool for resolving frozen embryo disputes, this article develops her research with reference to the condition of detriment in estoppel. Though Panitch refers to the 'time, money, and psychological commitment necessarily expended in pursuing the full commitment (of IVF)', these notions with respect to detriment have been significantly overlooked, especially in the courts and to a lesser degree in academic literature. This article will accordingly contemplate the physical, psychological and financial detriments to gamete providers if embryos are used against their wishes. Detriment can operate in a variety of circumstances and this article details how detriment could affect women who have sustained repeated failed IVF cycles, and how age affects the subject as well. Following this discussion, it is considered how detriment may affect men and gamete providers not seeking implantation. This leads to a conclusion that detriment is a more significant factor for the female gamete provider seeking implantation.

The social investment theory (SIT) proposes that personality maturation is triggered by transitions into age–graded roles and psychological commitment to these roles. The present study examines the predictions of SIT by focusing on the transition from student life to working life. We analysed three–wave longitudinal data and compared participants who made the transition into working life ( N = 226), participants who combined education with work ( N = 387), and participants who did not make the transition at all ( N = 287). In contrast to the predictions of SIT, we found no differences in personality maturation between individuals who made the transition into working life and those who did this only partly or not at all. Psychological commitment to work did not explain individual differences in personality maturation for those who made the transition (partly) into working life after controlling for multiple testing. Therefore, the present study did not support the predictions of SIT. © 2019 The Authors European Journal of Personality published by John Wiley & Sons Ltd on behalf of European Association of Personality Psychology

The purpose of this research is to examine the psychological commitment to team of the students of the Faculty of Sport Sciences. The sample of the study consisted of 242 students (97 female, 145 male) in the Physical Education and Sports Teaching, Coaching Education, Recreation and Sports Management Departments. “Personal Information Form” which was created by researchers and the Turkish version (Eskiler et al., 2011) of “Psychological Commitment to Team” (PCT) scale which was developed by Mahony et al. (2000) were used as a data collection tool in this research. Mann Whitney U test and Kruskal Wallis H test were used to analyze the data. Analyzes were made on the total score of PCT. For this study, Cronbach’s Alpha was found as .80 for the total score. As the result of analyzes, the level of “psychological commitment to team” of the students was found to be high. While there was no significant difference between gender and age variables with the scores obtained from PCT scale, there was a significant difference between department, licensed product purchases, years of being a sports fan, desire to work and possibility of working with the scores obtained from PCT scale. As a result, hypothesis 1, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 were accepted, while hypothesis 2 and 3 were rejected.
