Las series de ficción dirigidas a adolescentes actúan como importantes agentes socializadores en un mundo cada vez más individualizado y complejo a consecuencia de las nuevas tecnologías y las nuevas dinámicas de visualización. Los estereotipos femeninos representados en ellas tienen el poder de reconfigurar la construcción identitaria de los telespectadores, que asumirán determinados roles y los aplicarán a su realidad. Este trabajo identifica un cambio lento y superficial en la representación estereotipada de la mujer en las series dirigidas a adultos y pretende dilucidar si ocurre lo mismo en los seriales adolescentes. El objetivo de esta investigación pretende examinar a sus protagonistas, analizar las tramas y demostrar si estamos ante una modificación estructural de dichos roles de género en series que abordan el ciberbullying y sus dinámicas de acoso en los dramas de instituto. Para ello analizaremos las series Gossip Girl, Pretty Little Liars y Get Even a través de un análisis cualitativo fundamentado en el Análisis de contenido y el Análisis crítico del discurso.

This article is devoted to the development of a linguistic model for describing the concept WOMAN. The material is women’s dialect discourse. The sources of the material are the Tomsk dialect corpus which includes materials of expeditions organized by dialectologists of Tomsk State University from 1946 to the present days on the territory of Middle Ob dialects spread. In the article we used modeling method based on the idea of the nominative field of a concept, as well as an interpretation technique relying on analysis of contexts, and a method of quantitative calculations used in relation to units that represent the concept. Lexical and phraseological units that make up the nominative field of the concept were revealed during the research. These units were divided into the following lexical-semantic groups: 1) the general nominations of a female person; 2) age and status in marriage; 4) status in the family hierarchy; 5) anatomical and biological characteristics; 6) character traits and behavior; 7) appearance characteristics; 8) profession and work processes. Elements of different layers of the concept are revealed in each lexical- semantic group. All of them give a general picture of ideas about women. So, the basis for identifying of gender conceptualizations and stereotypes is the presence of linguistic oppositions of male and female; the presence of a large number of lexical units that reflect the status of marriage (girl, bride, young woman, wife, mistress, old woman, widow, old girl, brooch and so on); lexical pairs that are opposed to each other on the basis of evaluation “positive” – “negative” (clean, clean – dirty, mistress – disheveled, etc.). A large number of words that negatively assess certain qualities and behavior of women (gossip girl, market woman, stramovka, etc.) indicate the high requirements imposed on the woman, the condemnation of deviations from social norms. The content of the concept of WOMAN depends on the specifics of rural existence, which is based on work, the presence of patriarchal gender stereotypes, social and historical events and processes. The significance of the research is determined by the possibility of using its results for development of a new interdisciplinary scientific field – gender dialectology that studies the gender characteristics of the dialect.

O presente trabalho tem por objetivo analisar o léxico fraseológico formado pelas lexias verdade e coração em um corpus paralelo composto pelas legendas em inglês e português de cinco temporadas do seriado norte-americano Gossip Girl, a fim de evidenciar as metáforas conceptuais subjacentes a estas combinatórias e de contrastar as manifestações linguísticas metafóricas oriundas destas duas lexias em ambos os idiomas em tela. Para a análise, contamos com o suporte metodológico do programa Word Smith Tools, versão 6.0 (SCOTT, 2012), o qual nos possibilitou a identificação e extração do léxico fraseológico composto por metáforas conceptuais presentes no referido seriado. Dessa forma, foi possível identificarmos um total de doze metáforas conceptuais diferentes nas unidades fraseológicas constituídas pelas lexias verdade e coração e truth e heart. Espera-se, assim, ter sido possível evidenciar a presença das metáforas conceptuais em unidades fraseológicas, ressaltando a importância das metáforas para a Fraseologia.

Resumo Os objetivos de nossa proposta são: 1) elencar expressões idiomáticas formuladas a partir das palavras de maior frequência e chavicidade presentes no corpus composto pela legenda da série televisiva Gossip Girl em inglês; 2) analisar as opções tradutórias adotadas em português para esse conjunto léxico; e 3) converter os dados em uma proposta de atividades para o desenvolvimento das competências tradutórias, nos moldes de Hurtado Albir (2000, 2001, 2005). Para tanto, nos valemos da abordagem proposta por Camargo (2005, 2007), adotando o arcabouço dos Estudos da Tradução Baseados em Corpus (BAKER, 1995, 1996, 2000), da Linguística de Corpus (BERBER SARDINHA, 2004) e da Lexicologia (XATARA, 1994, 1998). Procuramos, ainda, associar o ensino de competências tradutórias ao uso de corpora para a formação de tradutores (BERBER SARDINHA, 2010). Os resultados apontaram para o uso de explicitações e de omissões no que tange ao processo tradutório das expressões idiomáticas. No âmbito das práticas em sala de aula, notamos que o uso de jogos abordando as EIs levantadas na pesquisa conduzem a uma interpretação léxico-semântica mais ampla, bem como ao reconhecimento das habilidades necessárias para lidar com a tradução de legendas para um público jovem. Expressões Idiomáticas. Gossip Girls.   Abstract The aims of this paper are: 1) to list idioms based on the most frequent words and keywords from a corpus of subtitles of the TV series Gossip Girl in English; 2) to analyze the translations used in Portuguese for this lexical set; and 3) to convert the data into a proposal of actiities for the development of translational competencies based on the studies of Hurtado Albir (2000, 2001, 2005). We also use the Camargo’s approach (2005, 2007), the framework of Corpus-Based Translation Studies (BAKER, 1995, 1996, 2000), Corpus Linguistics (BERBER SARDINHA, 2004) and Lexicology (XATARA, 1994, 1998). Besides that, we associate the teaching of translational competencies to use of corpora for translation training (BERBER SARDINHA, 2010). The results pointed to the use of explicitation and omission in relation to the translation process of idioms. Within the scope of practice in classroom, we observed that the use of games addressing idioms leads to a broader lexical-semantic interpretation and to the recognition of skills required to deal with the translation of subtitles for a young audience. AbstractInspired by the popularity of TV series such as Gossip Girl, The City and The Hills which revolve around the world of fashion, this article examines whether and how these series are related to young women’s willingness to purchase products that allow them to replicate the appearances of the main characters. The results demonstrated that in particular women with materialistic orientations would like to emulate the main characters. The mechanisms underlying this relation are that materialistic women watch fashion TV series to gain fashion inspiration; subsequently they watch these series more frequently, and this behavior is related to increased copy-cat intentions.
