Snehapana is an internal administration of sneha (medicated or non-medicated) has an important therapeutic application in Ayurveda. This therapy aims to prepare the body for Shodhana karma and helps in bringing the doshas from Shakha (peripheral tissues) to koshtha so that they can expel out easily. Accha sneha pana is superior type of internal oleation. Digestion of sneha is all depending upon the Agni bala. Digestion and absorption of sneha shows various physiological changes in the body. Adahstad sneha darshanam is a classical sign of Samyak snigdha lakshana. Mode of action of sneha in koshtha and its relationship with bile salts and lipid metabolism process should be thoroughly studied for the success of snehapana therapy.

Introduction Delayed presentation of posterior urethral valves (PUVs) is a rare condition. Presentation and diagnosis of the patients with late PUVs are challenging. Voiding cystourethrogram (VCUG) is mainly practiced. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the children with late-presented PUVs, and the reliability of VCUG in this group. Materials and Methods Between January 2003 and December 2017 records of patients who were diagnosed with late-presented PUVs were analyzed. Delayed presentation of PUV was defined as patients who were diagnosed and treated after infancy. Cases were examined in terms of age at diagnosis, presenting symptoms, urinalysis, urinary ultrasound, urodynamic studies, VCUG, and dimercaptosuccinic acid scintigraphy findings. Postoperative follow-up conditions were also assessed. Results Seventeen boys were diagnosed with late-presented PUVs (mean age was 7.35 years). The most common symptoms at presentation were frequency (58.8%), day and nighttime incontinence (47%), and febrile urinary infection (41%). PUV was noted by VCUG in 10 patients alone. The classical sign of dilated posterior urethra was detected in 9 patients. The 10th patient had posterior urethral irregularity. Urethra could not be evaluated due to unsuccessful voiding in one patient. Six patients had normally appearing urethra on VCUG. Reflux was detected in nine (52.9%) patients. Conclusion Late-presented PUVs may be missed on VCUG. Whether a PUV might be present is crucial in boys with a history of recurrent urinary infection, persistent reflux, and repetitive daytime incontinence. Based on our results, we conclude that cystoscopic examination should be preferred for those cases to diagnose PUVs regardless of VCUG results.

Chronic sinusitis-rhinosinusiis affects 5-15 % of the urban population. The prevalence of sinusitis (146/1000 population) has been reported to exceed that of any other chronic condition. The features of the disease Dushta Pratishyaya in general are similar to that of chronic sinusitis (rhinosinustis) in modern science. The study was planned to evaluate the role of Vyaghri Haritaki Avaleha and Anutaila Nasya in the management of Dushta Pratishyaya (Chronic Sinusitis). Total 30 patients having classical sign and symptoms of Dushta Pratishyaya (Chronic Sinusitis) were registered and were randomly divided into two groups (Group A- Vyaghri Haritaki Avaleha and Anutaila Nasya, Group B- Vyaghri Haritaki Avaleha). The patients were given Vyaghri Haritaki Avaleha for the duration of two months and Anutaila Nasya in 3 sittings of seven days in each with the interval of seven days. Total 26 patients completed the treatment, 13 in each. Obtained data was statistically analyzed with the help of student ‘t’ test. The study reveals that in both the groups no patient was totally cured. 46.15 % and 53.85 % patients got marked relief, 38.46 % and 23.08 % patients got moderate relief, 15.38% and 23.08 % patients got mild relief in signs and symptoms of the disease in Group A and B respectively. None of the patients remained unchanged.

In present era 80% of the disorders in the world are of Samarogas. Out of them the most crippling disorder, which hampers the economy of the world as well as the individual, are musculo-skeletal disorders. These are best known as Rheumatic disorders. Out of them many disorders have got signs & symptoms similar to Amavata. So the Amavata description given in the Madhavanidana covers a variety of Rheumatological disorders. Due to wide spectrum of disease, much prevalence in the society and lack of effective medicament, the disease is being chosen for the study. This research study was conducted on 30 patients with classical sign & symptoms of Amavata by adopting proper assessment criteria. In group A 15 patients were treated with Prasarini Taila and Doshahara Basti for 8 consecutive days. In group B 15 patients were treated with Prasarini Taila and Vaitarana Basti for 8 consecutive days. The pharmacodynamic property of Basti dravyas are having Laghu- Tikshna guna, Katu-Tikta rasa, Ushna virya are against the Guru, Pichchila, Sheeta properties of Ama. Thus Basti proves an effective treatment in Amavata. The overall effect of therapy in Group A was 78.57 % and in Group B was 51.19%.

AbstractWe discuss existence and multiplicity of solutions of the one-dimensional autonomous prescribed curvature problemdepending on the behaviour at the origin and at infinity of the function f. We consider solutions that are possibly discontinuous at the points where they attain the value zero.
