This study looks at the agency and activism of Filipina live-in caregivers in Toronto and how they break the isolation seemingly imposed by the live-in caregiver Program and foster their own settlement in Toronto. This research details the problem approach, which puts forward neoliberalism as a great hindrance to the settlement of these women, and contrasts it with the agency approach, which stipulates that agency, resiliency, resistance, and social capital are also important forces in shaping their experiences in Toronto. Four in-depth interviews were conducted and the main themes that transpired were religion, family, the desire for normalcy, and developing community networks mainly, but not necessarily exclusively, within the Filipino community. Policy implications include encouraging grass-roots associations to promote informal socializing during evenings or week-ends, when caregivers have time to participate in activities outside of their work.

Management of data and information in an institution can support national development, but some are still less effective and efficient. This study aims to determine the application of information systems to achieve Good Governance in the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning / Land Agency of Magelang City. The method used in this study was interviews with staff at the Magelang City Land Agency. The results find that the development of information technology and supporting infrastructure created opportunities to develop a more reliable, efficient, and timely computerized application for land activities (KKP) within the National Land Agency (BPN). The growing need for more accessible land information demanded by the community (policy recipients) and the government (policymakers) has increased higher than before. However, on the other hand, there are obstacles, such as the unfinished mapping of land parcels. The implication of this research is the Land Office needs to guide operators to better service quality.

The article continues the author's series of works devoted to the study of one of the most difficult issues in the history of the intellectual tradition of late-Antique - early-Byzantine Alexandria - the evolution of confrontational process between representatives of the Christian and pagan intellectual elite in the city. The aim of the article is the analysis of the Christian community policy of philopons and its role in a confrontational process of Alexandria in the second half of 5th - the first half of 6th century BC. The result of this study was the author's conclusion that the philopons contributed to the process of confrontation in Alexandria during the period under review, changing the course of the relationship between Christians and pagans. At the same time, the philopons, understanding the complexity of the urban situation, sought to maintain a balance between the pagan’s intellectual heritage and Christian traditions.
