Public art of the USSR and Mexico during the 1920s and early 1950s was chosen as the object of research. Both powers saw public art, especially frescoes, as the most direct and appropriate way of expressing a new revolutionary system of values, and considered it an ideal medium for creating metahistory. Established chronological framework is determined by the fact that during this period, similar changes took place in a political structure of both countries, which led to a transformation of the understanding of artistic production. The author highlighted the relationships between socio-political transformation of images in Mexican muralism and Soviet socialist realism of the 1920s and 1950s (prior to the period of Soviet modernism); she also identified the relationships between the system of images and their influence on the viewer and detected stylistic similarities and differences between both artistic trends, bearing in mind historical and political differences. Similarities in the relations of art and power in Mexico and the USSR manifested in redefining the structures of power; rethinking the concept of the nation and history; recreating the past and controlling it to build the future; rejecting contemporary trends in art of that time and turning to didactic art to educate people and transmit the ideals of the new state. They were also displayed in artistic legitimization of the new political order and creation of public art through appealing to a complex of beliefs, feelings, universal images and fetishes be revered and turned into national cults.

The topic “converging shock waves” is quite useful in Inertial Confinement Fusion (ICF). Most of the earlier studies have assumed that the medium of propagation is ideal. However, due to very high temperature at the axis of convergence, the effect of medium on shock waves should be taken in account. We have considered a problem of propagation of cylindrical shock waves in real medium. Magnetic field has been assumed in axial direction. It has been assumed that electrical resistance is zero. The problem can be represented by a system of hyperbolic Partial Differential Equations (PDEs) with jump conditions at the shock as the boundary conditions. The Lie group theoretic method has been used to find solutions to the problem. Lie’s symmetric method is quite useful as it reduces one-dimensional flow represented by a system of hyperbolic PDEs to a system of Ordinary Differential Equations (ODEs) by means of a similarity variable. Infinitesimal generators of Lie’s group transformation have been obtained by invariant conditions of the governing and boundary conditions. These generators involves arbitrary constants that give rise to different possible cases. One of the cases has been discussed in detail by writing reduced system of ODEs in matrix form. Cramer’s rule has been used to find the solution of system in matrix form. The results are presented in terms of figures for different values of parameters. The effect of non-ideal medium on the flow has been studied. Guderley’s rule is used to compute similarity exponents for cylindrical shock waves, in gasdynamics and in magnetogasdynamics (ideal medium), in order to set up a comparison with the published work. The computed values are very close to the values in published articles.

In the first decades of the twentieth century, film was considered an ideal medium for the preservation of memory and was rapidly included among the educational means used in museums. This chapter explores the ways in which films and moving images were used in museums as educative tools, and how they were shown to visitors, in auditoriums or in galleries. This chapter also discusses how, in addition to their educational role, films responded to the museum’s need to keep up with the times and to show that the museum was a ‘living’ organism, attentive to the demands of a modern and urban public and ready to fit in the dynamics of city life, with its growing number of attractions and forms of entertainment.

The communication via internet is simple. Thanks to low access barriers and widespread occasions for unimpeded development it is almost an ideal medium for the exchange of ideas and therefore seems particularly suited for the exercise of constitutional freedom. Yet, wherever the freedom of expression is exercised it must also be able to develop its protective functions and it is within this context that the open structure constitutes a challenge to the interpretation of fundamental rights. In order to counteract the premature conclusion that new situations require new solutions, it is advisable to first take a closer look at established structures and ways of interpreting fundamental rights. In particular the approaches and structural concepts inherent in Helmut Ridder’s concept of fundamental rights and its evolution to the transsubjective dimension of fundamental rights could be of use for a concept of fundamental rights that appears to be adequate to these and possibly also future challenges.

The Journal is the most accepted vehicle for the dissemenation of work results and today electronic journals are very much part of that form of dissemination. Electronic Journals (E-journals) come in many forms from academic ones to zines, which are popular and irreverent for the most part. There are many e-joumals on the Internet and the Web in education. It is an ideal medium for them. In particular, e-journals in education help the cognitive learning process. The do so by complying with learning series as outlined by Piaget, Kolb, Witkins and others. Through their flexibility with hyperlinks and the varying formats they allow, e-joumals can relate to the varying leaning styles of students. Despite of all their positive aspects, there are still a number of issues of concern with this medium of publication such as copyright, stability of format, archiving, updating, indexing and the like. Nonetheless, e-journals will continue to grow and expand due to ease of access and because, in the field of education they promote an interactive learning tool.

Cellulitis in the setting of lymphedema is an uncommon but clinically important presentation to the emergency department. Stagnant lymph is an ideal medium for bacterial growth and progression can be rapid due to decreased ability to fight infection in the affected area. Infections are commonly caused by gram-positive cocci, though blood cultures are often negative. Treatment should be aimed at rapid initiation of antibiotics targeting these species. There may be a role for antibiotic prophylaxis in recurrent cases.

Educational games are the ideal medium to see the extent to which a student's performance will be assessed. However, to integrate educational games has the technical and practical challenges of their own. This study will be directed to the development of a game that can be used to measure the kind of intelligence and capabilities of a child based on the reference of Psychology Howard Gardner's theory kuisinoerThe purpose of writing is the development of gaming applications with HTML5 and JavaScript enabled to measure intelligence. The data taken from the distribution of questionnaires to 30 respondents were randomly. The data were analyzed by finding the average difference between the results of tests using questionnaires to play the game. From these results it can be concluded that there is a gap/difference between the average differences among the results of the two tests.
