The article considers the main points of organization and content of club activity group work as one of the most important components of extracurricular education. The necessity of further development of circle work is emphasized, both within the General education school (club activity work) and within the framework of extracurricular educational institutions. It described the main features inherent in any circle, highlighted the main differences between circle classes and school lessons, including differences in the forms and methods of teaching. Emphasis is placed on the mandatory publication of the results of the activities of the clubs members (holding exhibitions, fairs, reporting concerts and evenings) and its importance for the members of the club themselves. Based on the analysis of scientific literature, a classification of different types of circles is given, which is based on the main directions of socially useful activities of schoolchildren. It is proved that in order to achieve high results, group work should be based on the principles of voluntariness, humanism, democracy and self-government. The article also emphasizes that group work is a separate form of education and upbringing, which should be called a collective form of self – education. In favor of this statement, the facts are given, where the form of training of the club’s activity is collective, and the method of obtaining new knowledge and forming skills is individual. And it has the advantages of both collective and individual training.

This chapter examines six skill sets for enabling creativity that are important across multiple music cultures: physical technique, aural skills, vocabulary and memory facility, syntax tools, decision-making skills, and self-assessment skills. The extent to which musicians develop and are able to employ these skills correlates with their learning experiences. Social environment, values, and belief systems shape different learning approaches. The natures of human memory and oral culture further interact to facilitate creativity-enabling skill development. Valuable insights are drawn from the experiences of classical, jazz, and traditional musicians in South Africa, Finland, and the United States. Formal and informal music education, authoritarian and learner-directed teaching, emphasis on obedience and student agency, and reliance on notation and playing by ear all have long-term consequences for creative development.

The article presents the teacher's activity in terms of the educational resources they use in their teaching. Emphasis is placed on the opportunity for teachers to create their own educational materials in a digital environment. A classification of the educational resources has been made according to the purpose they serve and the digital objects they consist of. The pedagogical projections of digital objects in their role as components that make up the learning resources have been analyzed. The need to form hybrid competencies, in this case digital-pedagogical ones, for the students who would be future teachers in primary education has been explained.

Purpose – Despite rising graduate unemployment in the UK, there are insufficient numbers of graduates employed in small and medium sized-enterprises (SMEs). The literature suggests that a teaching emphasis on large organisational business models in higher education institutions, particularly in the teaching of marketing theory, renders the SME sector unattractive to graduate employment and conversely, it is perceived that graduates lack additional “soft skills” vital for SME development and growth. The purpose of this paper is to provide an analysis of how SMEs define marketing and to compare student perspective on marketing within a SME context. This paper also examines the need to improve the conventional marketing curriculum with additional teaching solutions that consider the reality of UK SME ownership and student employment prospects. Design/methodology/approach – A qualitative research approach was adopted using in-depth interviews amongst ten SME owners and 20 undergraduate marketing students of a UK university. Findings – Findings revealed that the marketing practices used in SMEs were not present in the marketing curriculum in the case university. The employment of marketing graduates was not positively perceived by SME owners and equally, marketing undergraduates did not view SMEs as the career organisation of choice. Originality/value – The study re-evaluates the HE marketing curriculum and suggests an update of the curriculum in order to move the university-industry-government relationship away from the traditional knowledge transfer perspective.
