Abstract The analysis of long-term data showed that in various agrometeorological conditions, the average yield of the selected numbers of the competitive test was 6.76 t/ha and varied from 6.15 t/ha for the line 4/3-12h 933 to 7.04 t/ha for the Noble variety. The maximum yield was shown in 2016 in the varieties Znatny, Nadezhny and breeding lines 30/3-12h 983 and 135/2-12h 1068 at the level of 8.91 to 9.52 t/ha. The differences between the samples in terms of the level of crop structure elements were revealed. In the group of high-yielding genotypes, breeding lines 141/1-09 h 746, 135/2-13 h 1068, 4/3-12 h 933 were distinguished, the weight of 1000 grains in which was 1.7-5.6 g higher than the average value. Ranking by the complex of the most important productivity characteristics determined the high breeding value of Yaromir, Nadyozhny, Znatny varieties and lines 30/3-12h 983, 135/2-13h 1068 as a source material for breeding to increase the yield of new varieties.

The article points out the accompanying environmental consequences resulting from the development of industry, transport and increasing globalization. Subsequently, it emphasizes the necessary education of the population, education for sustainable development and raising environmental awareness. It characterizes the starting points in legislation and strategic documents of environmental policy in the field of environmental education and training in schools in the Slovak Republic. It clarifies the implementation of vocational education of students in primary and secondary schools with a focus on their environmental literacy and competencies. In it, the authors interpret the results of a survey conducted on a sample of 3070 respondents, in which they organized ten life values according to importance. They compare the statements of three groups of respondents - teachers, parents, and students. Subsequently, they analyse them and point out the possible causes of the identified state of the position of the value of environmental protection in vocational education in Slovak schools. In the end, they name important topics and assumptions leading to improved preparation of students for the future.

Degradation of sport performance in Indonesian athletes was recorded in Sea Games 2017 and FIFA rank in 2015. Some of athletes’ main problem are lack of stamina and endurance. These problem are caused by insuffi cient carbohydrate and energy intake. In addition, selection of tofu curd waste and banana are purposed to provide adequate potasium intake. This study was aimed to reveal the eff ect of bean curd waste and the addition of Ambonese bananas to the acceptability, nutritional value and economic value of the formulated snack bars. The used design was true experiment with completely randomized design. This study employed untrained panelists including athletes with weight restrictions (gymnastics and sports combat with weight classes) as many as 30 people. The percentage of bean curd waste substitution was P1: 12%; P2: 16%; P3: 25%, and 10% added banana. Statistical test results Friedman confi rmed a signifi cant diff erence in the level of preference on the texture and taste aspects between control and other formula. The results of the acceptability, nutritional value and economic value ranking obtained the optimum value in formula two (P2).Nutritional value for 100 grams of snack bar P2 (cohydrate: 41.6 g; fi ber: 8.7 g; potassium: 514 mg) has been able to contribute at least 10% of the daily energy needs of athletes. Laboratory test results for fi ber and potassium can meet 16.7% and 10.9% of the daily needs of athletes. Hence, formulated snack bar can be claimed to be high in fi ber and potassium products. The most aff ordable price of the formulated product was 7,000 IDR per 125 g which is more economical than the commercial soybean-based snack bar. Therefore, the formulated snack bar can be recommended as a complementary meal of athlete with weight restrictions.

How much do the political values of politicians endure throughout their careers? And how might the endurance be explained? This paper uses a unique longitudinal data set to examine the persistence of political values among national politicians: members of the British House of Commons, who completed Rokeach-type value ranking instruments during 1971–73 and again 40 years later in 2012–16. The findings show remarkable stability and provide strong support for the persistence hypothesis which predicts that politicians develop crystallized value systems by their early thirties and largely maintain those values into retirement. This is consistent with the view that rapid changes in aggregate party ideologies have more to do with new views among new waves of recruits than with conversions among old members.

Purpose The authors construct asset portfolios comprising small-sized companies and value stocks that provide with higher returns for the UK market based on a three-factor model with incorporated behavioural features. The authors were able to demonstrate that value factor model is vulnerable to behavioural patterns, especially corporate fraud. In all of the above, the authors utilised a new proportional sorting methodology against the value ranking approach, commonly employed in empirical studies. Strong evidence is observed that portfolio performance based on various syntheses of allocated assets reveals counter-intuitive results related to the BE/ME, namely, that expected returns based on size and BE/ME produce significant errors and small firms retain consistently better returns. The reason might be the unusual accounting techniques many firms follow to receive extended capital after management decisions. The paper aims to discuss these issues. Originality/value In distinctive contrast to the recent literature, the authors show that the returns from a size factor model of small stocks tend to outperform big stocks especially in crisis periods. Domain corpora are often not very voluminous and even important terms can occur in them not as isolated maximal phrases but only within more complex constructions. Appropriate recognition of nested terms can thus influence the content of the extracted candidate term list and its order. We propose a new method for identifying nested terms based on a combination of two aspects: grammatical correctness and normalised pointwise mutual information (NPMI) counted for all bigrams in a given corpus. NPMI is typically used for recognition of strong word connections, but in our solution we use it to recognise the weakest points to suggest the best place for division of a phrase into two parts. By creating, at most, two nested phrases in each step, we introduce a binary term structure. We test the impact of the proposed method applied, together with the C-value ranking method, to the automatic term recognition task performed on three corpora, two in Polish and one in English.
