The 2013 Curriculum emphasizes the cultivation of individual values. There are 18 values to be instilled, one of which is caring for the environment. These values are taught through daily teaching and learning activities. Environmental awareness is discussed in the year four student book under theme three. This research is designed as a descriptive-qualitative study facilitating document study. Data collection was done using the data analysis technique, content analysis. The validity of the data was tested using semantic validity and stability reliability. Results showed that the value of environmental awareness was present in theme three of the year four student book and can be divided into three indicators. These indicators include caring for plants, caring for animals as well as caring for other human beings. In conclusion, theme three of the year four student book is regarded as appropriate teaching material.

AbstrakNaskah Tashrihah Al-Muhtaaj merupakan salah satu cerminan kebudayaan masyarakat Jawa pada masa lampau yang berisi nilai-nilai sebagai sumber kedamaian dalam bermasyarakat. Pengkajian terhadap naskah tersebut dianggap penting, mengingat adanya krisis moral di kalangan siswa-siswi di sekolah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengungkap nilai-nilai moral Jawa dalam naskah Tashrihah Al-Muhtaaj dan relevansi nilai-nilai tersebut dalam pendidikan karakter di sekolah. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis konten dengan pendekatan hermeneutik. Sumber data penelitian adalah naskah Tashrihah Al-Muhtaaj yang berisi 25 teks, tetapi hanya 8 teks yang dapat mewakili nilai-nilai moral Jawa dalam naskah. Adapun pengesahan data dengan cara validitas semantik dan reliabilitas intrarater. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya relevansi nilai-nilai moral dalam naskah dengan nilai pendidikan budaya dan karakter bangsa. Nilai moral dalam naskah berupa nilai kejujuran, tanggung jawab, kerukunan, keadilan, dan hati nurani. Nilai-nilai tersebut relevan dengan nilai pendidikan budaya dan karakter bangsa, yaitu pada nilai jujur, tanggung jawab, toleransi dan cinta damai, demokratis, dan peduli sosial. Dengan demikian, nilai-nilai moral dalam naskah Tashrihah Al-Muhtaaj dapat diterapkan sebagai acuan atau contoh pendidikan karakter di sekolah. Kata kunci: naskah kuno, nilai moral Jawa, pendidikan, Tashrihah Al-Muhtaaj AbstractThe Tashrihah Al-Muhtaaj manuscript is one of the manifestation of Javanese culture in the past which consists of many values as the peace and society sources. The study of this manuscript is vwry significant. It is caused by the moral crisis happenedto the students in the school. The aim of this study is to unravel Javanese moral values in Tashrihah Al-Muhtaaj manuscript and the relevance of these values in character education at school. The research method used was content analysis technique with hermeneutic approach. The data source in this study is Tashrihah Al-Muhtaaj manuscript, which originally contains 25 texts, but only 8 texts represent Javanese moral values. The data validation was done by applying semantic validity and intra-rater reliability. In brief, the result shows that there is relevance of moral values in Tashrihah Al-Muhtaaj manuscript with the values of cultural education and national character. The moral values in Tashrihah Al-Muhtaaj manuscript comprise honesty, responsibility, harmony, justice, and conscience. Moreover, these values are relevant to the values of cultural education and national character; they are the values of honesty, responsibility, tolerance and love for peace, democratic, and social care. Therefore, the moral values in Tashrihah Al-Muhtaaj manuscript can be applied as references or examples of character education at school.  Keywords: ancient script, Javanese moral value, education, Tashrihah Al-Muhtaaj

Open-ended survey questions can provide researchers with nuanced and rich data, but content analysis is subject to misinterpretation and can introduce bias into subsequent analysis. We present a simple method to improve the semantic validity of a codebook and test for bias: a “self-coding” method where respondents first provide open-ended responses and then self-code those responses into categories. We demonstrated this method by comparing respondents’ self-coding to researcher-based coding using an established codebook. Our analysis showed significant disagreement between the codebook’s assigned categorizations of responses and respondents’ self-codes. Moreover, this technique uncovered instances where researcher-based coding disproportionately misrepresented the views of certain demographic groups. We propose using the self-coding method to iteratively improve codebooks, identify bad-faith respondents, and, perhaps, to replace researcher-based content analysis.

Penulisan ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan nilai-nilai kearifan lokal Jawa dalam teks serat Mangunharja. Teks Serat Mangunharja merupakan salah satu naskah peninggalan jaman dahulu yang ditulis dengan tulisan tangan dan berwujud macapat yang menggambarkan perjalanan sesorang untuk mengadakan penelitian terhadap keadaan sungai-sungai di daerah Surakarta yang kemungkinan dapat dibendung untuk pengairan sawah dan ladang serta mengandung nilai-nilai kearifan lokal. Data diambil dari teks Serat Mangunharja yang dibaca secara heuristik dan hermeneutik. Data yang terkumpul kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif, khususnya dengan membaca data, mengklasifikasi data, menafsirkan data, dan mendeskripsikan data. Validitas data menggunakan validitas semantik, sedangkan reliabilitas data menggunakan reliabilitas intrarater dan interrater. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa teks Serat Mangunharja memuat nilai-nilai kearifan lokal Jawa. Kearifan lokal Jawa yang ditemukan dalam Serat Mangunharja setidaknya ada enam hal, yaitu (1) pendidikan moral, (2) sifat kesatria, (3) pendidikan anak, (4) sikap masyarakat, (5) pengendalian diri, (6) kepemimpinan.JAVANESE LOCAL WISDOM IN SERAT MANGUNHARJAThis article aims at describing values of Javanese local wisdom in Serat Mangunharja (Mangunharja script) text. It is one of the past manuscripts in the form of macapat (Javanese poetry) containing local wisdom and depicting someone’s journey in conducting a research on the condition of rivers around Surakarta which were possible to be dammed for irrigation. Data were obtained from Serat Mangunharja text through heuristic and hermeneutical method. The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis technique. The validity and reliability of the data were maintained using semantic validity, intrarater and interrater reliability.The result of study showed that Serat Mangunharja encompassed values of Javanese local wisdom. They comprised at least six points, namely (1) moral education, (2) the nature of knights, (3) child education, (4) public attitudes, (5) self-control, and (6) leadership.

This research aims to find the philosophical foundation of the article "Principles of Education of Tamansiswa at the Beginning of Its Establishment" in the book of "Ki Hajar Dewantara's Thought and Struggle" which is published by The National Awakening Museum of the Directorate General of Culture Ministry. This book consists of six parts, which discusses about some topics related to KHD. The researcher chose the second part to be analyzed because it discusses the teachings of KHD which is interesting and is relevant in recent education. The research method uses inferential content analysis. The researcher comprehend and interpret the symbolic message in the article. The research procedure used are the procurement of data, data reduction, inference, and data analysis. Construct analysis is done using qualitative approach with conceptual domain. Data validity was measured by using semantic validity and test retest reliability. The research result shows that there are philosophical basis on education principles of Tamansiswa, philosophy of essentialism and humanism, which is values ​​issued in cultural or social heritage that have existed since human civilization, for example in the among systems and trilogy leadership slogan Ing Ngarso Sung Tulodho, Ing Madyo Mangun Karso and Tut Wuri Handayani implemented in Tamansiswa education.

This research is a qualitative study using an ecocriticism perspective. The data in this study are form of text that refers to the formulation of problem about the form of ecological crisis in the short story of Ikan, while the data source used is the short story of Ikan by Danang Febriansyah. The instrument in this research is writer who oriented to research the short story of Ikan by Danang Febriasnsyah. The validity test in this study uses semantic validity which is oriented to depth of interpretation process. Data collection techniques in this study were carried out by reading and note-taking techniques. The data analysis techniques used are classification, interpretation, and drawing conclusions. Based on the research results, in the short story of Ikan by Danang Febriansyah, it was found that there was a representation of the ecological crisis in form of damage to the biotic ecosystem and the living things in ecosystem experiencing extinction.

Karya sastra mengungkap emosi yang timbul dari konflik antartokoh  di dalamnya.Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan wujud konflik internal yang dialami tokoh utama, dalam novel Lintang. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah novel Lintang karya Nana Rina, cetakan pertama tahun 2012 dan diterbitkan oleh Penerbit Mara Pustaka Yogyakarta. Penelitian difokuskan pada permasalahan yang berkaitan dengan konflik internal yang dikaji secara psikologi sastra.  Data diperoleh dengan teknik membaca dan mencatat. Data dianalisis dengan teknik analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Keabsahan data diperoleh melalui validitas semantis dan reliabilitas interrater dan intrarater. Dari  hasil penelitian, diperoleh wujud konflik internal tokoh utama, berwujud: kekecewaan akibat tidak tercapainya sebuah harapan, keraguan terhadap keyakinan agama dengan hadirnya informasi baru, kebingungan dalam menentukan pilihan, perasaan bersalah pada orang tua, perasaan bersalah pada Tuhan, perasaan bersalah pada suami, perasaan menyesal pada kesalahan yang sudah diperbuat, kebingungan dalam menghadapi tragedi kehidupan, kekecewaan akibat perasaan yang sudah dilukai, keraguan atas kemampuan diri dalam menyelesaikan masalah. Kebingungan dalam menghadapi tragedi kehidupan adalah wujud konflik internal yang paling dominan yang dialami oleh tokoh utama dalam novel Lintang.Kata kunci: Konflik internal, psikologi, tokoh, novel The Internal Conflict of Main Character in Nana Rina’ Novel: Lintang AbstractLiterary works reveal the emotions that arise from conflicts between the characters in them. This study aims to describe the form of internal conflict experienced by the main character in the novel Lintang. The data source of this research is the novel Lintang by Nana Rina, the first edition of 2012 and published by Mara Pustaka Yogyakarta Publisher. The research is focused on problems related to internal conflicts studied in literary psychology. Data obtained by reading and taking notes. Data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques. The validity of the data was obtained through semantic validity and interrater and interrater reliability. The result showed it is obtained the form of the internal conflict of the main character, in the form of disappointment due to not achieving hope, doubt about religious beliefs in the presence of new information, confusion in making choices, feelings of guilt in parents, feelings of guilt towards God, feelings of guilt towards husbands, feelings of regret on mistakes that have been made, confusion in dealing with the tragedy of life, disappointment due to feelings that have been hurt, doubts about one's ability to solve problems. The most dominant conflict in Lintang is how the main character faces her confusion towards the tragedy in her life.

A textbook should reflect a curriculum being applied. The compability of the philosophical foundation between the curriculum and textbook is needed to achieve the educational goals. This study aims to find the philosophical foundation of the English in Mind Students' Book and the compability of the philosophical foundation between the curriculum and the textbook. This study is an inferential content analysis. The object is the English in Mind Students' Book. The procedure is the data making; physical and referential units, sampling; six chapters, data recording, data reduction, and withdrawal of inference. This study used semantic validity and test-retest reliability. This study used analytic constructs as a reference for the meaning of data to be analyzed using conceptual domain analysis techniques. Based on data analysis, there are six philosophies namely philosophy of perennialism, progressivism, essentialism, existentialism, humanism, and social reconstruction in the English in Mind Students' book and in the curriculum 2013. It means that there is no difference in philosophical foundation between the curriculum 2013 and textbooks. Both of them also emphasize on critical thinking skills, problem solving, communication and collaboration, creative and innovative and character development for students.

Spelling writing error often occurs in an essay. The spelling error is found in nonfiction essays of the V grade students. This research purpose is to describe the error in spelling writing in nonfiction essays of V grade students in SD Negeri 1 Kadipiro, Kasihan Bantul. The research is a content analysis research using a qualitative approach. The data source of this research is Indonesian nonfiction essays. Data collecting technique used was reading and by note-taking. The instrument of the research is the mechanical analysis sheet. Validity used in this research is semantic validity. Reliability of this research is stability and reproducibility. Analysis unit in this research covers letters usage, writings words, use of punctuation, and uptake words writings element. The data analysis technique used consists of data collection, sample determination, recording/noting, reduction, and drawing a conclusion. The research finding shows that there are writing errors in student’s nonfiction essay, such as letter usage (54,47%), word writing errors (25%), error in using punctuation (18,16%), and error in writing uptake words (2,37%). Factors that cause errors in writing include limited time in learning to write, lack of mastery in spelling rules, and lack of accuracy in writing.

The purpose of this study describes historical fact background character of bissu and describes historical fact of the life character of bissu. The historical aspect in question is how history is rewritten in the novel Tiba Sebelum Berangkat. This study is a qualitative descriptive study, using a mimetic approach is based on Plato's perspective. The validity of the data used to observe the semantic validity of the data units of words, sentences, discourse, dialogue, which is found in the novel. Reliability data using interrater and interrater. Reliability interrater used reading and reviewing repeatedly to find the consistency of the data while interrater had discussions with people who can appreciate literature. Analysis of the data used is content analysis to determine the content and meaning contained in the novel Tiba Sebelum Berangkat. Results in this study, first, historical fact background character of bissu includes: bissu as the traditional ceremonial leader indigenous; stage becomes bissu; the hierarchy of community bissu. Second, historical fact of the life character of bissu includes: bissu becomes the center of Operation Tobat DI/TII; syncretism of bissu and Islamic religion; bissu title pilgrim to Mecca; government intervention against bissu; now bissu as beauty salon worker; novel Tiba Sebelum Berangkat as a form of social criticism. The findings based on that novel have a relationship with bissu real life. Thus, the novel Tiba Sebelum Berangkat contains historical narrative bissu life in South Sulawesi. The impacts resulting from this research can reveal the historical facts that occur in the content of the novel.
