Bayesian Estimation of Weighted Inverse Maxwell Distribution under Different Loss Functions

In this study, the shape parameter of the weighted Inverse Maxwell distribution is estimated by employing Bayesian techniques. To produce posterior distributions, the extended Jeffery's prior and the Erlang prior are utilised. The estimators are derived from the squared error loss function, the entropy loss function, the precautionary loss function, and the Linex loss function. Furthermore, an actual data set is studied to assess the effectiveness of various estimators under distinct loss functions.

E-Bayesian and Bayesian Estimation for the Lomax Distribution under Weighted Composite LINEX Loss Function

The main contribution of this work is the development of a compound LINEX loss function (CLLF) to estimate the shape parameter of the Lomax distribution (LD). The weights are merged into the CLLF to generate a new loss function called the weighted compound LINEX loss function (WCLLF). Then, the WCLLF is used to estimate the LD shape parameter through Bayesian and expected Bayesian (E-Bayesian) estimation. Subsequently, we discuss six different types of loss functions, including square error loss function (SELF), LINEX loss function (LLF), asymmetric loss function (ASLF), entropy loss function (ENLF), CLLF, and WCLLF. In addition, in order to check the performance of the proposed loss function, the Bayesian estimator of WCLLF and the E-Bayesian estimator of WCLLF are used, by performing Monte Carlo simulations. The Bayesian and expected Bayesian by using the proposed loss function is compared with other methods, including maximum likelihood estimation (MLE) and Bayesian and E-Bayesian estimators under different loss functions. The simulation results show that the Bayes estimator according to WCLLF and the E-Bayesian estimator according to WCLLF proposed in this work have the best performance in estimating the shape parameters based on the least mean averaged squared error.

Bayesian Estimations under the Weighted LINEX Loss Function Based on Upper Record Values

The essential objective of this research is to develop a linear exponential (LINEX) loss function to estimate the parameters and reliability function of the Weibull distribution (WD) based on upper record values when both shape and scale parameters are unknown. We perform this by merging a weight into LINEX to produce a new loss function called the weighted linear exponential (WLINEX) loss function. Then, we utilized WLINEX to derive the parameters and reliability function of the WD. Next, we compared the performance of the proposed method (WLINEX) in this work with Bayesian estimation using the LINEX loss function, Bayesian estimation using the squared-error (SEL) loss function, and maximum likelihood estimation (MLE). The evaluation depended on the difference between the estimated parameters and the parameters of completed data. The results revealed that the proposed method is the best for estimating parameters and has good performance for estimating reliability.

Bayesian Estimates Based On Record Values Under Weighted LINEX Loss Function

In this paper, we developed linear exponential (LINEX) loss function by emerging weights to produce weighted linear exponential (WLINEX) loss function. Then we utilized WLINEX to derive scale parameter and reliability function of the Weibull distribution based on record values when the shape parameter is known. After, we estimated scale parameter and reliability function of Weibull distribution by using maximum likelihood (ML) estimation and by several Bayes estimations. The Bayes estimates were obtained with respect to symmetric loss function (squared error loss (SEL)), asymmetric loss function (LINEX) and asymmetric loss function (WLINEX). The ML and the different Bayes estimates are compared via a Monte Carlo simulation study. The result of simulation mentioned that the proposed WLINEX loss function is promising and can be used in real environment especially at the case of underestimate where it revealed better performance than LINEX loss function for estimating scale parameter.
