Abstract We introduce PineAPPL, a library that produces fast-interpolation grids of physical cross sections, computed with a general-purpose Monte Carlo generator, accurate to fixed order in the strong, electroweak, and combined strong-electroweak couplings. We demonstrate this unique ability, that distinguishes PineAPPL from similar software available in the literature, by interfacing it to MadGraph5_aMC@NLO. We compute fast-interpolation grids, accurate to next-to-leading order in the strong and electroweak couplings, for a representative set of LHC processes for which EW corrections may have a sizeable effect on the accuracy of the corresponding theoretical predictions. We formulate a recommendation on the format of the experimental deliverables in order to consistently compare them with computations that incorporate EW corrections, and specifically to determine parton distribution functions to the same accuracy.

Nuclear–nuclear collisions at energies attainable at the large accelerators RHIC and the LHC are an ideal environment to study nuclear matter under extreme conditions of high temperature and energy density. One of the most important probes of such nuclear matter is the study of production of jets. In this article, several jet shape observables in Au+Au collisions at the center of mass energy per nucleon–nucleon pair of s N N = 200 GeV simulated in the Monte Carlo generator JEWEL are presented. Jets were reconstructed using the anti- k T algorithm and their shapes were studied as a function of the jet-resolution parameter R, transverse momentum p T and collision centrality.

Status of \tauτ lepton decay Monte Carlo generator TAUOLA, and its main recent applications are reviewed. It is underlined, that in recent efforts on development of new hadronic currents, the multi-dimensional nature of distributions of the experimental data must be taken with a great care. Studies for H \to \tau\tau ; \tau \to hadronsH→ττ;τ→hadrons indeed demonstrate that multi-dimensional nature of distributions is important and available for evaluation of observables where \tauτ leptons are used to constrain experimental data. For that part of the presentation, use of the TAUOLA program for phenomenology of HH and ZZ decays at LHC is discussed, in particular in the context of the Higgs boson parity measurements with the use of Machine Learning techniques. Some additions, relevant for QED lepton pair emission and electroweak corrections are mentioned as well.

We use the kT–factorization approach to calculate total and differential cross sections of associated production of prompt photons and hadronic jets at the LHC energies. Our consideration relies on the pegasus Monte-Carlo generator with implemented ℴ(αα2s) off-shell gluon–gluon fusion subprocess g*g* → γqq− and several subleading quark-initiated contributions from ℴ(ααs) and ℴ(αα2s) subprocesses, taken into account in the collinear limit. Using Monte-Carlo generators CASCADE and PYTHIA, we investigate parton showering effects and compare our predictions with the data, taken by CMS and ATLAS collaborations at the LHC. We demostrate reasonabledescription of the data and the importance of parton shower effects in the kT–factorization.
