There are many approaches one could take in making leaps from the plane and space into four dimensions and then into n-space. One approach would be to extend the algebraic model with which most high school students are familiar. In this article, I want to look at an interesting formula concerning intersections by starting with the familiar analytic model for Euclidean geometry.

Spherical geometry can be used to entice students into a deeper understanding of Euclidean geometry. Determining which regular spherical polygons tessellate the sphere is another motivating topic that is accessible to high school students. The most recognizable tessellations of the sphere are found on balls, such as soccer balls, volleyballs, and golf balls. Even Spaceship Earth at Epcot Center in Disney World involves tessellation.

Objective: To explore the characteristics and its relevant factors of learning engagement among high school students in economically developed areas in China. Methods: 808 high school students in Guangdong Province were selected by stratified cluster sampling. They were investigated with Utrecht Work Engagement Scale-Student-Chinese Version (UWES-S-CV), Academic Self-Efficacy Scale (ASES), Interpersonal Comprehensive Diagnostic Scale (ICDS), Short-Form Egna Minnen AV Barndoms Uppprostran (s-EMBU), Emotional Support Questionnaire for Middle School Students to Understand Teachers (ESQUT) and a self-compiled  general personal information questionnaire. Results: ⑴ The total score of UWES-S-CV, ASES, ICDS and the scores of three dimensions in UWES-S-CV, two subscales of ASES and four dimensions of ICDS, as well as the mother overprotection of s-EMBU were at the medium level. The total score of ESQUT and its four dimensions were at the medium high level. The scores of father’s and mother’s warmth of s-EMBU were at the high level, while the score of father’ negation, mother's negation and father's overprotection were at the low level. ⑵ Multivariate stepwise linear regression analysis showed that 12 factors such as student origin, school category, class category, learning interest, the teaching method used most commonly, mother's education level, learning behavior self-efficacy, learning ability self-efficacy, father's warmth, mother's warmth, care and encouragement were positively correlated with the total score of UWES-S-CV (β=.120~.433, all P<.01), while grade, family economic status, self-rated learning burden, communication and making friends, father’s negation and mother’s negation were negatively correlated with the total score of UWES-S-CV (β=-. 073~ -. 407, all P <. 05). Conclusion The learning engagement among high school students needs to be improved. Social environment, family rearing style, school education and teaching style, as well as individual factors may be the main influencing factors of high school students' learning engagement.

This study evaluates the empirical applicability of the career construction model of adaptation (CCMA) by collecting evidence about the validity of the Student Career Construction Inventory (SCCI) from a sample of Turkish high school students and examining the relations between adaptive readiness, adaptability resources, adapting responses, and adaptation results. To test the model, we conducted two studies with samples of high school students in Ankara, Turkey ( n 1 = 251; n 2 = 694). In the first study, the SCCI was translated into Turkish and psychometric properties of the inventory were assessed. To validate the four-factor structure of the SCCI Turkish High School Form, two different levels of confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) were applied to 251 participants. The results of CFA demonstrated that the data for the SCCI Turkish high school sample fit the theoretical model very well. The internal consistency of the SCCI was determined as 0.72 for crystallizing, 0.75 for exploring, 0.85 for deciding, 0.73 for preparing, and 0.90 for the total. In the second study, the CCMA, consisting of four dimensions (adaptive readiness, adaptability resources, adapting responses, and adaptation results), was empirically tested by using the SCCI, which had been tested for validity in the first study. The results of serial mediation analysis supported the CCMA, indicating that adaptive readiness indirectly influenced adaptability resources, adapting responses, and adaptation results.

The present study aims to clarify the structure of adolescents' motivations in micro-blog use and develop the corresponding scale. The results show that: (1) Adolescents' motivation in using micro-blog contains 14 items which can be classified into four dimensions, namely Show-Extrication, Convenience-Communication, Information-Sociality, and Leisure-Expression. The scale is of good reliability and validity; (2) Girls' motivation is significantly higher than boys' in the dimensions of Show-Extrication, Convenience-Communication, and Information-Sociality, and in terms of Information-Sociality, the motivation of the second-year high school students are significantly higher than that of the first-year and third-year high school students.

This study aims to find indications of academic fraud in the implementation of final semester assessment online from the perspective of diamond fraud theory consisting of four dimensions; pressure, opportunity, rationalization, and capability. This quantitative study with a questionnaire created with Microsoft Form to collect the required data. This research was conducted in Lampung Tengah on December 14, 2020, from 07.30 to 15.00 WIB using the Microsoft Form questionnaire. The number of samples in this study was 81. Respondents in this study were 3 vocational high school students in Lampung Tengah Regency who participated in the final semester assessment online. The data obtained is processed using the line analysis method with Smart PLS 3.3.2 software. The results showed that pressures and opportunities have no significant effect on academic cheating in the implementation of final semester assessment online. While rationalization and positive ability have a significant effect on academic cheating in the assessment of the final semester online. In addition to the impact of academic fraud, the results of this study provide solutions to reduce the occurrence of academic fraud in Vocational High School students conducted online.

The urban world in which many of us live does not lend itself to the metric of Euclidean geometry. Assuming that the avenues are perpendicular to the streets in a city, the distance from “fifth and fifty-first” to “seventh and thirty-fourth” is not the familiar Euclidean distance found by applying the Pythagorean theorem. The distance must instead be measured in blocks from fifth to seventh avenues and then from fifty-first to thirty-fourth streets. This taxicab metric, one of several me tries used in mathematics (Eisenberg and Khabbaz 1992), is practical for many applications and helps students pursue interesting investigations while deepening their understanding of familiar topics.

A modification of the Paired-Stimuli Parent Program (Florance, 1977) was adapted for the treatment of articulatory errors of visually handicapped children. Blind high school students served as clinical aides. A discussion of treatment methodology, and the results of administrating the program to 32 children, including a two-year follow-up evaluation to measure permanence of behavior change, is presented.

Summary: This article describes a triarchic analysis of an aptitude-treatment interaction in a college-level introductory-psychology course given to selected high-school students. Of the 326 total participants, 199 were selected to be high in analytical, creative, or practical abilities, or in all three abilities, or in none of the three abilities. The selected students were placed in a course that either well matched or did not match their pattern of analytical, creative, and practical abilities. All students were assessed for memory, analytical, creative, and practical achievement. The data showed an aptitude-treatment interaction between students' varied ability patterns and the match or mismatch of these abilities to the different instructional groups.
