This article presents the results of research on segetal vegetation of root crop cultivations of the area around Sieradz and Zduńska Wola, carried out in the years 1977 and 1992 (Figure 1). On the basis of 120 phytosociological records, taken in 1977, 6 associations were distinguished (Tables 1-8): Digitarietum ischaemi, Bilderdykio-Lamietum amplexicaule, Galinsogo-Setarietum, Echino-chloo-Setarietum, Veronico-Setarietum pumilae, Lamio-Veronicetum politae. According to the repeated listing, conducted in 1992, changes of the above - mentioned associations were stated. The comparison between the present state of the associations of root crop weeds on the area researched and their state of 16 years ago showed their impoverishment (compare Tables 1-9, Figures 2-9).

This paper presents the results of research in segetal communities of winter cereal cultures of the Piotrków Plain (Figure 1) which took place during the period between 1971 and 1972 and between 1992 and 1993. On the basis of 205 phytosociological records, taken in 103 localities in the years of 1971 and 1972 (Figure 2), 6 associations were distinguished (Tables I-IX): Spergulo-Veronicetum dillenii, Arnoserido-Scleranthetum, Papaveretum argemones, Vicietum tetraspemae, Aphano-Matricarietum, Caucalido-Scandicetum. According to the repeated listing carried out in the years 1992 and 1993 the changes of the communities of the mentioned items were disclosed. The comparison of the present state of the weed communities of the winter cereal cultures on the researched area with the state of 22 years ago allowed to note that the changes in the analyzed agrophytocoenoses are caused by progressive anthropopressure.

This paper presents the results of research on changes in weed communities of stubble fields of the Piotrków Plain (see W a r c h o l i ń s k a, 1994 - Figure 1) which took place during the period between 1971 and 1972 and between 1992 and 1993. On the basis of 30 phytosociological records, taken in 24 localities (Figure 1) in the years of 1971 and 1972, 3 associations were distinguished (Tables I-III, see W a r c h o l i ń s k a, 1974): Centunculo-Anthoceretum punctati, Hyperico-Spergularietum rubrae and Herniario-Polycnemetum. According to the repeated listing carried out in the years of 1992 and 1993 the changes in the communities of the above-mentioned items were stated. The comparison of the present state of these communities with their state of 22 years ago allowed to note that the analyzed agrophytocoenoses of stubble fields got impoverished due to progressive anthropopressure (Tables I-IV, Figure 2).

The research was carried out in the following 9 mesoregions of northem Poland, located on either side of the Vistula: Cassubian Coast, Cassubian Lakeland, Elbląg Plateaux, Górowo Plateaux, Ermelandic Plain, Iława Lakeland, Vistula Delta, Starogard Lakeland and Lower Vistula Valley. A total of 11 cropfield-weed communities have been distinguished and described. Those found in cereal crops included: Teesdaleo-Arnoseridetum, Papaveretum argemones, a transition community between Vicietum tetraspermae and Aphano-Matricarietum, Aphano-Matricarietum, Lathvro-Melandrietum and Spergulo-Chrysanthemetum segeti. In root crops the occurrence was found of: Digitarietum ischaemii, Echinochloo-Setarietum, Lamio-Veronicetum politae, Galinsogo-Setarietum, Fumarietum officinalis and Spergulo-Chrysanthemetum segeti. Due to the presence in the patches of most communities, especially root crop communities, of many common species, they show a number of similarities, floristic and structural.

Closed connection was found between particular weed communities and the edaphic agricultural complexes of the investigated field region (see Tab. l ). Taking adventage of bioindicative properties of weed communities the numeric values were found depicting present state of field biotops of investigated region concerning termic relations, humidity relations, soil pH, soil nitrogen content and biological activity of the soil. These resultes were further used as an aid to evaluate particular field biotops to agricultural use.

This paper presents the results of research on changes in segetal communities of flax and root crop cultures of the Piotrków Plain (see W a r c h o l i ń s k a, 1994 - Figure 1) which took place during the period between 1971 and 1972 and between 1992 and 1993. On the basis of 72 phytosociological records, taken in 50 localities (Figures 1, 2) in the years of 1971 and 1972, 5 associations were distinguished: one in the flax culture (Table I) - Spergulo-Lolietum remoti and four in the root crop cultures (Tables II-V) - Digitarietum ischaemi, Echinochloo-Setarietum, Galinsogo-Setarietum and Lamio-Veronicetum politae. According to the repeated listing carried out in the years of 1992 and 1993 the changes in the communities of the above - mentioned items were stated. The comparison of the present state of these communities with their state of 22 years ago allowed to note that the changes of the analyzed agrophytocoenoses of flax and root crop cultures are caused by progressive anthropopressure.
