<p>Construction project is a project involving many kinds of jobs and a large number of workers. The pros and cons of the construction project site construction management and the measures level directly influences the construction duration, cost and quality. This paper discusses the function of strengthening construction site construction management, the problems existing in construction site construction management and the measures to improve construction site construction management., with a view to providing some meaningful reference for our country's related research of construction project site construction management measures.</p>

In order to improve construction site management, we make the architect’ position as the starting point for our research ,analyze the similarities and differences between the project manager and the architect and transform the traditional building construction management system from centralized system into flat -like system. Furthermore, we propose that the implementation of the system must be assisted with the construction of credit system and the establishment and implementation of personal practice insurance system.

The project focuses on the employability of construction site managers since they belong to a much imperiled occupational group. Next to the impairment of health of the individual, the missing work time leads to a huge impact on the economy. Reducing the average missing work time about half a day would increase the annual production about 1.87 billion Euro. On this background the protection of employability and the avoidance of missing work time has to be the goal. The analysis of the current state was performed by different methods, i.e., online surveys, interviewing experts and recording processes on construction sites. The results of the analysis showed that construction managers are happy about their profession and that they like their job. But the results also showed that construction managers wish for a better balance between leisure and working time. A Construction Site Manager’s current working environment is molded by many challenges including: computerization, speedy development of new technology, acceleration, juridification and economization. Based on the survey the Pentagon of construction management was developed with the focus on improvement. Improvement can be in the form of practical aids, tools-such as the qualification matrix or the application for interface analysis and process optimization. Also a new concepts like the assistance of construction management. For which a modular qualification system was settled, which can be used for dual studies, as well as in a form of postgraduate education.

AbstractOn 15 October 1970, at 11:50AM, part of the West Gate Bridge in Melbourne, span 10-11 of 367 feet length, disintegrated and triggered the collapse of the bridge. Thirty-five men were killed in the disaster. The bridge was still under construction, all those killed were workers or engineers employed on the construction site. The investigation of a Royal Commission revealed a mismatch between an ambitious structural design of the bridge plus an unconventional method of erection and a fragmented, conflict-ridden construction management whose detrimental effects remained unchecked by public authorities. Regulatory powers and enforcement competence had been delegated to a QUANGO—a quasi-non-governmental organization—which diluted responsibility structures and decisively weakened the coordination and control capacity of the agency.

Purpose The digital construction transformation requires using emerging digital technology such as deep learning to automate implementing tasks. Therefore, this paper aims to evaluate the current state of using deep learning in the construction management tasks to enable researchers to determine the capabilities of current solutions, as well as finding research gaps to carry out more research to bridge revealed knowledge and practice gaps. Design/methodology/approach The scientometric analysis is conducted for 181 articles to assess the density of publications in different topics of deep learning-based construction management applications. After that, a thematic and gap analysis are conducted to analyze contributions and limitations of key published articles in each area of application. Findings The scientometric analysis indicates that there are four main applications of deep learning in construction management, namely, automating progress monitoring, automating safety warning for workers, managing construction equipment, integrating Internet of things with deep learning to automatically collect data from the site. The thematic and gap analysis refers to many successful cases of using deep learning in automating site management tasks; however, more validations are recommended to test developed solutions, as well as additional research is required to consider practitioners and workers perspectives to implement existing applications in their daily tasks. Practical implications This paper enables researchers to directly find the research gaps in the existing solutions and develop more workable applications to bridge revealed gaps. Accordingly, this will be reflected on speeding the digital construction transformation, which is a strategy over the world. Originality/value To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this paper is the first of its kind to adopt a structured technique to assess deep learning-based construction site management applications to enable researcher/practitioners to either adopting these applications in their projects or conducting further research to extend existing solutions and bridging revealed knowledge gaps.

Taking safety and quality management of power transmission and transformation projects as the main line, this paper studies the practice of construction management of 220kV and above power transmission and transformation projects in Jiangsu province after the system reformation of State Grid Jiangsu Electric Power Company, then refines the experiences and highlights in pre-planning, process management, implementation of management measures and other aspects. The new management mode of power projects with Jiangsu characteristics is established.

Hazard and operability study (HAZOP), which is applied to identify the hazards of a system and its operability, finds application in identifying unsafe behaviors of operators after redefining the “guide words” and “process requirements”. In this paper, unsafe behaviors of lifting workers on the construction site and the risk they brought were identified using the redefined HAZOP. Then, the causes of these behaviors were revealed after sorting and analysing these behaviors.. Finally, based on these causes, appropriate management measures were developed for effectively reducing accidents in lifting operations.
