Faced with the complexity of urban construction projects and difficulties in the field, engineers must, on the one hand, dimension with rigor and common sense the foundations with all the requirements of today of quality, conformity and respect of deadlines and budget and take into account, on the other hand, safety and environmental requirements and societal and sustainable development criteria, the purpose of this communication is to present concrete projects of foundations and excavation deep in geologically heterogeneous and highly urbanized sites, with monitoring and displacement measurements in order to compare predictions with reality and to promote the "observational method".

Much sustainable urban architecture in China is closely related to traditional Chinese inhabitation wisdom, which, as a collection of ancient wisdom, has accumulated for thousands of years. The wisdom, according to which the ancient Chinese constructed their living space in harmony with nature, could continue to be a reliable reference in modern urban construction projects. Moderate development, interconnectedness, and the cyclical patterns of nature are the core concepts of the wisdom. The knowledge and application of such wisdom could help in the construction of more modern, convenient, and environment-friendly cities. The modernization of urban areas should not lose sight of traditional architechual characteristics.

With the rapid development of economic development in China, the urban construction is gradually deepening. The scale and scope of the construction project are getting larger and larger, and the engineering management is faced with many challenges. At present, many construction enterprises have some problems in the management of construction projects. In order to improve the quality management level, the whole process of supervision and management must be done. Take effective measures to solve the problems existing in the construction and ensure the smooth completion of the whole project construction. This paper analyzes the existing problems of construction quality supervision and management, and puts forward some concrete measures. It is hoped that the level of industry supervision and management can be improved to ensure the realization of the quality objectives of the project[1].
