AbstractAstronomy is connected with the every day experiences of the people, since the observation of simple and repetitive phenomena, as the succesion of days and nights, untill events of high impact, as the total solar eclipses. In this sense, the Astronomy is a fascinating activity and can be used to inspire interest in sciences in general. In this contribution, we introduce the Network of Astronmy School Education as part of the IAU proposals connected with teaching training programs, and we highlight several examples on the specific topic of the eclipses: their importance and connection with the culture, that can capture students attention if we use the workshops as part of the classes.

Wayang Topeng (Mask Puppet) in Jombang is a folk performance whose presence is needed by the society. Along with the development of the society, it experiences downturn. Currently, various attempts have been made by artists in Jombang to preserve the performance. The study aims to investigate the function and continuity Wayang Topeng functions in todays society. Observation, interviews and literature studies were used to collect the data. The interactive analysis was used as the data analysis model. The result of the study shows that Wayang Topeng in Jombang still has manifest functions such as a vow ritual, a giver of inner experience, a breadwinner, and an entertainment; and latent function which is to form social solidarity. The life of Wayang Topeng after being raised by Purwa has received good response from the people and gained popularity. However, because the regeneration process is not well managed, the existence of this art performance is at the tip of torpor and deterioration. The revival of Wayang Topeng in Jombang is realized soon after a primary school teacher has tried to revitalize it.Wayang Topeng di Jombang merupakan pertunjukan rakyat yang kehadirannya dibutuhkan oleh masyarakat.

Much of the special literature deals with examining textbooks, and during their analyses the underrepresentation of women in the world of teaching aids always comes out. The National Curricula (1995, 2003, 2007, 2012, and the new draft of the NC) serve as the basis for writing textbooks, thus it would be worth starting the examination of horizontal segregation according to gender here. In the current study, the goal is to identify and to map theoretical dimensions. This research introduces female education and stereotypes of women in Hungary, their theoretical background as regards horizontal segregation according to gender, and also introduces „hidden curriculum”. Horizontal segregation according to gender in higher education is easily seen, the goal of this study, however, is to examine its presence in primary school education through the teaching of three subjects: music, history, and physics. This dissertation is the first step in the research which furthers the mapping of the theoretical background.

The paper presents the results of one part of empirical research conducted for the purpose of conceiving the proposal of educational standards for the subject Geography at the end of primary school education. The goal was to determine the extent to which the students were trained to orient themselves and use cartographic method in the process of using geographical map. Research comprised the representative sample of 919 students of the final grade in 159 Serbian primary schools. Achievement Test served for studying the levels of students' knowledge and skills in the field of Geographic Skills. Besides this, the questionnaire studied students' opinion on learning outcomes in this field, and by analyzing contingency tables, the correlation between students' success in geography at the end of the first term of the eighth grade and their opinion about learning outcomes in the afore-mentioned field was determined. The findings of this research indicate that students are not sufficiently trained to orient themselves in space and on geographical map, as well as to use geographical map in instruction. Besides, it was established that there is a correlation between students' success and their opinion on learning outcomes in the field of Geographic Skills.
