Oxford is a new large-seeded, yellow oat with excellent lodging resistance, high yield, tolerance to B.Y.D. and wide adaptability in Eastern Canada. It was licensed for sale in Canada in September 1976. Breeders’ seed of Oxford is maintained by the Crop Science Department, University of Guelph, Guelph, Ontario.

OAC Paisley is a high yielding, lodging resistant, covered oat developed at the Crop Science Department, OAC, University of Guelph. OAC Paisley was selected from the cross of Ogle/OA630-2. It has outyielded the check cultivars over 29 station-years of testing in Ontario, Quebec and the Atlantic Region. OAC Paisley is well adapted to all of Eastern Canada. It has resistance to BYDV and good tolerance to septoria, but is susceptible to crown rust. It should fit well into barley-oat mixtures due to its early maturity and lodging resistance. Bruce is a new six-rowed spring barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) with very good lodging resistance, high yield, and good tolerance to Cochliobolus sativus. It is a non-malting, mid-season cultivar well adapted to Ontario. It was licensed on 21 March 1977. Codac is a six-rowed spring feed barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) bred at the Crop Development Centre, University of Saskatchewan and registered by the Crop Science Department, University of Guelph for Eastern Canada. It was produced from a cross of Diamond/Duke and has shown adaptation to Eastern Canada. It has been high yielding, early maturing and has medium height straw. It has good resistance to scald, leaf rust, stem rust and the smuts, but is susceptible to powdery mildew. AAC Bell is a two-row spring feed barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) cultivar with high yield, heavy kernel weight, and good lodging resistance. It was tested as CH2714-4 in the Atlantic Recommending Committee for Cereal Crops (2015–2017), Quebec Recommending Committee for Cereal (2015–2017), and Ontario Cereal Crops Committee (2016–2017) trials before being registered by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency in 2018. AAC Bell was developed by the Ottawa Research and Development Centre, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, Ottawa, ON. AAC Bell is recommended for barley growing areas in eastern Canada.
